Min 1:32. The question being, (paraphrasing), "How do Stanton and Johnson get along living togther as competitors?". Correct answer from either, "We get along fine as long as Jeff does not start beating Rick.". Good on Jeff. Johnson was a bit of a sucker IMO. :) (but a huge talent and great work ethic, big respect to that).
RJ broke the SX win record held by Hannah. But 2 records will never be broken today or in the future. J. McGrath 72 SX wins, and RC total career wins. Mankind's talent is declining, and those records are written in stone IMO.
That was just a mistake. Larry Meyers was one of the best MX/SX commentators of that day. He followed MX/SX well, and hosted a TV show called "Motoworld" in the 80's, (the only current MX news line a rural kid had at the time, on a 12 foot diameter dish). He seemed to have a love for MX/SX,(and I met him at Red Bud). I have to chalk up any mistakes he may have made as just mistakes. He had a good, strong clue about SX/MX, but he is human.
Team Yamahas damon Bradshaw
125. Main event. Right on.
Congratulations
Thanks for posting
RJ was by far the goat. Sickening wrist injury. Bad luck
He seemed to be just getting started... Was a real shame. He's still the coolest though!
Back in the day. . The king of Supercross
Rick Johnson. . Miss these old school races. Great stuff
18:18 You can hear Rick Johnson groan when he cases the jump!
It was a fan near the track
Has anyone got anymore of these from this era with Jeff Stanton vs rick Johnson?😊

13:32 ''and that put Terry Bradshaw into the number one spot'' ...that commentator has no clue. Also at 7:29 ''he tries to turn in mid air'' lol
