- In this video, I discuss cultural Anthropology classes I have taken as a UCLA Anthropology Major! This video has been requested several times so I thought it was about time to make a video about it. Studying cultures around the world is an amazing course of study and I cannot wait to share these courses with you all.
Who am I? My name is Alivia Brown and I am currently an undergraduate Anthropology student at UCLA on a mission to find a career that I love. My major does not have a straight forward "path" as many would say and I am not only determined to prove that I can be successful in my major but also demonstrate my ability to find a career that brings me joy. This is my journey to expanding my global and anthropological knowledge. This is my journey to finding the best career I can. This is my journey to finding happiness. This is my journey to success.

There's a great memoir I read a while ago called "To Shake the Sleeping Self" that was all about this guy's trip from Oregon to Patagonia and there are so many anthropological details involved with a lot of the regions he road through. Because it's a memoir, it's really adventurous and light, but because it's about travel, it might be something you'd be interested in! :)

Hey Alivia, nice initiative.
I have been studying anthropology since last year on my own. Being an MBA, Corporate Anthropology is something that excites me the most. Can you make a video on it or maybe share your experience of class if you have attended any class on it?

I guess you're gonna love the book called "Sovetian" travels by Erika Fatland, especially if you want to find out more about cultures and countries that used to be part of the Soviet Union and have their freedom now. It's really interesting and pretty objective. She didn't intend to pick sides, but rather have a scientific observation on what the post-soviet counties are and were.
