Yes kudos to the piano player who kicked Ren off the Yamaha, and continued playing flawlessly the score written by Ren. How many artists can wrap to a piano ? This was meticulously planned and executed by Ren and Samuel's team. A particular hi-light for me is the confidence Ren has in the team as he flops backward into the wheelchair and the sound of the bottle hitting the floor and rolling. Pure class. One of the violin players also sits still as some of the "rain" slightly mis-directed drenches her and her bow. Loved your reaction to this one.
Omg your brother passed away like that too! Mine did about 13 years ago. It's so hard to go through all the things in your head that you might have done to help, but ultimately it's their decision. Very difficult for any family to go through and you have my condolences because I know what kind of pain you went through. On a positive note though great reaction to Ren's MG masterpiece. Thanks for showcasing this on your channel. Amazing storyteller he is yes. Let's hope he leads people out of the dark.

It is two one-takes. The break is when the camera pans behind the wheelchair. They could only do the rain scene once and had to move the lapel mic to his tie. The look of awe on your face when you saw the string quartet was priceless, Shae. I loved your reaction.

A masterpiece filmed in the countryside (farmland) in the UK and with all his friends he pulls this off ! its maybe his most ambitious video yet but its without a doubt pure gold...and been waiting for this reaction😀
The piano in sync with the voice is on another level, I write songs and use the usual chord progression, layers of textures and structures, themes and motifs etc. But what's happening here is a single line of piano that mirrors the "dialogue" in an extraordinary way. This is so exciting and makes me look at the whole thing from a different angle I can't explain how big this is for me. Generational talent !

Hi Carlie great reaction as always, Ren is one of a kind. I have never heard rap and classical piano with strings before and I’m 67. I do believe he is a musical genius. One thing I wanted to say though was you mentioned why you couldn’t watch at the end and I think even without watching it upset you. Please accept my condolences, I am truly sorry for your loss. x

That whole piano track is gold. And the the stings; couldn't get enough!
Ren composed all the music for this including the piano which was played by a classical pianist called Charlie (apart from the start which was Ren). I think they said that Yamaha leant them that beautiful piano and even provided someone to tune it for them. You asked if it was a one -take - there was at least one cut, when the camera went behind the wheelchair, to allow the string quartet to get into position. Absolutely stunning video !
Plus they only had one suit for Ren. They only had one chance with the rain.
True that !@@propermodulation948 I understand it had been tailor made for him. I think he said it is the only suit he has ever owned - and joked that he was rubbish at folding the jacket as he had no idea what he was doing ! (I understand that he also kept the suit as a memento)

Yep Ren does it again, what a fantastic artist, we are so lucky that he lets his art be available to all, a true game changer in the music industry, there has to be a Ren musical/ hip hop opera in the pipeline, imagine his next album being 10 or 12 tracks all linked together along the lines of the “tales” with videos too them, now that would be a real concept album
Ren stated "Mold will Grow upon the Surface that Consumes til it dies, and Our Fate could be the same without this Story to the Wise" His Solution is to be a Teacher opening the Eyes of Millions with his Art and his Heart! Sam wasn't the cameraman but he did direct. There were two cuts one in front of the mirror when the hood drops and the other when the wheelchair is turned. Ren rearranged the music from MG 1&2 for the strings.

Has anyone noticed the reverence to the "Wish You Were Here" Cover Art (Pink Floyd) with the two in business suits shaking hands and passing on a suitcase?
As of now, I haven't heard a reactor jump on it, even those that did react to that Pink Floyd song with the Cover Art in a thumbnail some time ago or read a comment pointing at it, so I grabbed the chance of doing so now.
Having watched ALL of his videos from Children Of The Moon all the way to Money Game Part 3, plus the Brighton busking and the Big Push vids, I can now savely conclude;
Ren is the best artist to come from the British Islands since the Monty Pythons (Terry Jones being, another brilliant Welsh-Man btw, a driving force) and Peter Greenaway.
Now Ren Gill is right next them topping a long list.

You did amazing here, picking up on a lot of small details that took me several views to get. Like his shirt and tie all of a sudden being all messed up. The video was a live one-take, including the piano and strings.
As for Ren spoiling modern music it's funny you say that. When I first discovered Hi Ren I was just falling in love with a band called The Warning. I was honestly bummed out, fearing I would never see them the same after Ren. Turns out they're still bad ass though. I was relieved lol. Great job.

This return line from “Hi, Ren” is important. In the beginning of the video, Ren (Jimmy) loosens the noose from the “money bag” around his head. Similar bags were used when people were hanged so that the audience/executioners did not have to see the physical, human reaction to their death. Facing the truth of death, struggle, and, ultimately, being guilty of whichever crime someone is guilty of, is important.
Ren’s tale of Jimmy is one of revelation and of hope. It is one of self-realization and regret. But also, it is one of warning to the future; a chance at something better if people would just “heed this word to the wise”.

This was Rens first video that cost more than $1000 to produce, and most earlier productons by Ren and crew were filmed using a phone camera and on a totally restricted shoestring budget. This video, they say, was filmed with at least 1/3 the money that would have been spent on a production of equal quality by industry standards. It just goes to show that when one puts in the effort, great things can and are accomplished by those driven to make them happen. Great reaction as always with you being the Ren fangirl you've become.
He had to loosen his tie so the lapel mic could move from his jacket to the tie...because he removes the jacket for the rain scene. Genius.
Ren built a lighthouse to guide Humanity away from the rocks. This is why he is The Master of the One Ring, The Brilliant Bard of Brighton. His music has an important influence in my life.
