Wow! From the first two lines, I could tell that this woman is a real musician. The staccato feel of the first line was magical, as was the crescendo into the third line. She has that sass and swag as well. As you pointed out, Nina, her phrasing is deep and expressive. Amazing!
That is a world class performance by Katrina. She’s criminally underrated. This last year she’s really matured and come into her prime. This venue is the Viva Cafe and Kat is a headliner there frequently. She has a performance of THERES A WINNER IN YOU (Patti LaBelle) this is equally outstanding. Do check it out!
