I think I want to have to subscribe to you. Your videos turn up whenever I type winemaking in the search box. I love that I can make wine out of carrots and can't wait to try it.
I've been following you for a while now as i haven't made wine since I was a lass with my dear old pops My first attempt was your coffee wine which is deffo a unique awesome flavour I'm tempted to follow your advice for carrot wine as I love these wines without the standard grapes etc Totally enjoy your channel ! Takes me back to the good old days
I am hopelessly American and am miserable because I can’t understand the European measurement system. However... I am still gonna try some of your recipes. Can’t wait to try the Dandelion recipe.
Celery would b e an interesting wine indeed, I'll have to try to find some locally! As for the broth, well yes! It is on my to do list! The term cocktail originates from Cock Ale, which was a hybrid ale / wine made from cockerel broth!
Thanks for making these videos man. You've answered a lot of questions that I had. And for the record, I think the beard takes about 20 years off. Which oil do you use?
Are you asking for the primary ferment or between rackings? If primary without a hydrometer put a balloon on ferment vessel. When balloon deflates and leans over to side rack off sediment and replace air lock. Rack again, stabilize, degass (if so inclined) and bottle. Allow to age for type of wine duration and cheers!
I would think if you puree the carrots and put them in a hop bag, it would add more intensity to the flavor. If I try this recipe, I will purree the carrots and add raisins.
I'll be doing this one next week, with a twist naturally I'm going to do it with fresh home grown coriander and Chilli in the hope of getting a little heat in the wine ready for winter. BTW I miss the beard. #longlivethebeard
WAIT A MINUTE ! Would you like to take challenge ? Make your carrot wine recipe side by side with a carrot recipe that roasts and caramelize the carrots first, then chop them up into your wort. I will bet the difference in taste is HUGE !
What happened in your life that made you go from looking like a college professor to a homeless person ? WOW......what big contrast of what a few years can do to a person. Lookin tah do a wine and NEVER heard of carrot wine b4 so I'm gonna give your recipe a try. Thanx ! Howard from across thee 'Ol pond. 😎👍✌
I adjust my mood to the outcome of my meads. I like all my experimental drinks

What about Carrot 🥕 and Ginger wine ?

Thank you sir. Any reason to boil the carrat?
Indeed there is. Boiling extracts a lot of flavour, and fermentable sugar
@@HappyHomestead thank you. Same for date wine?
So what would it be like to just ferment straight up carrot juice? Just through a juicer
Been wanting to try this one, did the parsnip one and it almost tastes like sherry
Can you make a grape peeled wine recipe?
Will probably like to visit you and your family sometime in the future!!
I'd like to try juicing carrots and then making wine from the juice. Would this work as well?
That would be a yes but I'd still put the pulp in a satchel with the the primary ferment.
I would be curious to see what celery wine would taste like. Also have you ever thought of trying to make a batch with chicken or beef broth?
Celery would b e an interesting wine indeed, I'll have to try to find some locally!

@@HappyHomestead Well I am excited to know that episode is coming up!
By the way, I bet your little man there is likely to be the Leonardo DiVinci of brewing when he grows up :)
Definitely going to make this one...... Also considering sending you a proper knife 😁
Will you rack it from one demijohn to another? How long would you leave it before drinking? I am tempted to give this a go!
Hey!! why did you strain the carrots?.... let them be enjoyed by the yeast.

Decent instructional information on the layman's scale. As being an old school Boomer it came across a little on the Beta side....but good job!
Why do you add the bannsna?
Fantastic!!
Perused other postings. Interesting enough to sub for later review.
How long does it have to sit in the carboy?

hey how did u remove pectin from the carrot ? carrot has pectin leads to methanol formation along with ethanol methanol is bad for health.
That music….is from stronghold games?
I have a question for you, can I use the juice cartons to store wine? It seems a shame to throw them away.
Don't store wine in plastic if long term is intent.
I think it would be a great recipe to use half roasted carrots and half roasted yams 🍠.

You don't strike me as a man who has time to peel grapes.

It’s amazing how much better our beards make us men look.

Horrible presentation.....
