  • Testing F1Fan's Thunderslot McLaren M6A slot car. This car was not fully tested / tuned for the 2019 CanAm Slot Car Proxy and F1Fan was curious how the McLaren compared to Cgyracer's 3rd place McLaren from the 2019 CanAm Proxy. Testing performed at the MID-BC Speedway track in Kelowna, BC Canada.

    10/10!! Excellent video, so interesting to see what F1 Fan has done compared with you. Big thanks to you both for showing us your chassis's in detail.
    What do you think is the biggest performance advantage from? Your wider tires or weight distribution or something else?? What would you do/try different if anything? :)

      Really hard to say what the difference maker is. What is fun about this hobby that every car entered in a Proxy is a little different from each other. If I was a betting man I would lean towards tires. Tires tires tires!

      @@robmcgyracer7394 yes quite agree tires are the biggest factor. I have heard some proxy racers will glue up 20 sets and test for that ultimate lapping set to run!:)

    You didn’t mention the wiring gauge difference!
    The wider stock rear wheels & tires on the orange #10 made a big difference in handling

    Now where have I seen that green McLaren before?? Great video comparing the two mostly stock cars, but with a few slight differences in tuning resulting a fairly significant difference in lap time, especially in a hobby where every millisecond counts. Those wider tyres and the extra 7g of weight made for a nicely planted McLaren! What car would you like me to send you next? 🙂 BTW I like the driver view, although I did feel a bit car sick after..😁

    Why has he used a LOLA chassis ?

      I believe he did not have a McLaren grey hard chassis. The Lola chassis is the same dimensions and post locations.
