OW1 Rein: Hold the front line, manage resources, outplay enemy main tank, F A T T shatters
OW2 Rein: Literally just chase people around the map while everyone constantly run away
You know Rein is in a bad place when one of the best Rein players has to take a brain cell loan from the bank in order to kill these characters and win games
or he's just outclassed in every regard

Been maining Rein since the OW1 betas and man does it hurt to see how far he's fallen. I just want to be able to hop in a match, swing away and get my daily dopamine rush. It feels like every change and addition to the game is being designed to make Rein less fun. Obviously that's not entirely true, but it sure comes off that way sometimes.

EDIT: Watching Flats playing Rein is such a joy too. I would love to have a literal masterclass from him at this game state (or at least after the promised Hog rework)

I now see exactly why no one wants to play Rein in gold and above, in gold it's visible but when Kiriko just prevents you from using your ultimate and ur main movement ability in Gm? Ye that hits different

Rein's pin is the most annoying thing. On the receiving end, you get randomly pulled into it though you're 5 ft away ... or you pin dead on and have people bounce away. The only consistency is knowing it's a gamble and a smaller miracle it works.

I always start my comp games asking the other teams tank if they want to not play hog/orisa. You'd be surprised how many accept the offer not to play that trash.

These rein games feel like quickplay games, Flats is just running around terrorizing the backline as the german strongman and honestly they could just ignore him and he wouldn't get an elimination.

Hot Tips from 2 weeks ago that i got from my silver/gold support player when i was playing rein in to a Ball.
You can use your shield to destroy the mines :O best tip ever -.- yea lets waste shield on the mines

At 2:00 does the end of the hit go out farther? Because when flats hit the widow, the widow was on the far sides of the screen.

I swear to god, there is nothing more infuriating to me than going after a soldier only for him to flip 180 and just sprint away. I know that's the design, I know tanks are slower, but I absolutely detest when soldiers just turn and sprint whenever they take 20 damage. It's almost like the genjis spamming "I need healing!"
Ok so fellow rienhardt players do you think it would be a good idea for his shield to have less damage done to it when it’s being hit by an ult. Like roadhog couldn’t break it as fast and it can make him more viable
That sounds like a very situational buff and unless it is some absolutely insane resistance (Like -80%) Whole Hog would still shred it anyway. And Rein's shield already has enough health to block ults like High Noon, Overclock, Tac Visor, Blossom, B.O.B, etc.
They need to give him his charge damage back, and maybe a flat shield health buff, and then I'd say he's in a good spot.

Not huge changes but they make him feel a lot better and I'm nervous about overbuffing.
