You are not wrong. People taste has degenerated beyond recognition today. They now have rap, unbearable noise they call music, no taste, no effort, no passion except for stupid vulgarity under the disguise of art and music.
No one can produce anything like James Last’s effort, precision and taste. Whatever happened to people taste is something I will never understand.

A different era when entire audiences loved music enough to dance to it. It is unimaginable what we have devolved to, where music is now usually the background noise even when played live. I have seen live bands shushed at restaurants. Sad at what we have lost.
My grandfather had his albums and it's how I discovered James Last. My grandfather never made it to a live concert, but I am grateful I did.

I’m 59 and I just discovered him this week!
I was 68 when I heard My first songs. I am 69. My parents were FROM GERMANY 🇩🇪. So, all the German songs we knew and danced to when they were alive. Just not to JAMES LAST. How sad. My parents loved music and had a lot of records and cassettes, c.d's.
My dad loved music from most of the world. He gave me this gift of music.

Why did they never revive the James last band as they did with Bert Kempfert and others , even a tribute band would be nice , if I had the money and the support I would start one , that's a question I would really like answered ....what say others ?
There was a james last concert planned shortly after his death but it diddnt come off pollydor must of thought it not financially viable

Ich kann mich nicht damit abfinden, dass James Last demnächst "seinen Bandleader" an den "Nagel" hängen will. Ich befürchte, die U-Musik wird folglich stark geschwächt werden - schade !!
Da muss ich Ihnen recht geben, Freier Westphale !! Jedenfalls ist es schade, einen solchen Musiker verloren zu haben !!

Damals war einer der ganz grossen Jazztrompeter der Welt, Derek Watkins, noch schmächtiges Männchen von Statur.

schön das alle Freude haben. ich habe es als Kind schon nicht verstanden. da ist ein Mann der mit den Finger schnippst, und ne Kappelle oder Orchester...dasmacht Swing. nicht mal super spannend. wofür zur hölle wurde der so ne Nummer? sorry......ich seh nix monumentales....aber die zahlen sagen das es das sein muss

What a fantastic sound, I like this orchestra
I know the "Malaguena" in its regular music style - flamenco/paso doble, but the James Last Orchestra version - they modified the music of the famous Ernesto Lecuona number into something like a rock-and-roll big band style, with some mambo-swing in it too! It was a great twist on a Spanish all-time classic! And to add it all - the mighty Hammond Organ! Wow!!!

Einzigartig die Musik, hervorragende Leistung der Musiker und dem einzigartigen Spitzenorchester Chef James Last.James Last und seine Musikanten hinterlassen eine riesige musikalische Lücke die leider nie geschlossen wird.Schade eine Kopie kann niemals so erstklassig wie das Original sein.
Hi,Christian,also, da stimme ich dir eigendlich zu.😊 Die haben damals Sachen gemacht, die es so nich, oder so nie mehr geben wird, da sich die Medien und leider auch die dafür interessierten Personen geändert haben ! Es gibt Allerdings viele potente fähige Musiker hier in Deutschland (und auch in der ganzen Welt), die BEREIT sind, solch eine damalige Leistung zumindest ansatzweise wieder aufleben zu lassen, dafür bedarf es aber dann auch einem BREITEN Publilumssektrum, ansonsten ist so ein "Projekt" finanziell gar nicht durchführbar. Und es fehlt die Infraskrutur für solch eine "Auferstehung" von Hansi! Was ich damit meine, ist leider, dass heutzutage solche damaligen Sendungen auf TV, womit Last überwiegend seine Erfolge erzielt hat, gor nich mehr vorhanden sind! Da werden z.T. die Egerländer von Ernst Hutter im TV begleitet von irgendwelchen (Dulli) Sängern (in), die Original Sänger hätten es dann doch wohl besser hinbekommen😂😂 Hut ab vor Ernst Hutter!

Ase 5 años que de pura casualidad vi esta orquesta y me dije voy a tratar de escucharla y como si yo hubiera buscado el tema que ami me gusta que es volare pues ese tema fue que salió y la verdad me gustó y de ahí salió otro tema tico tico para mi fue fantástico es como si me lellera mi mente pues de ahí de ese entonces comes a escuchar esta estupenda orquesta del maestro James Last única para mi grasias por conpartir estas maravillosas jollas musicales

Sorry, I should have said "sharing". It's just great to see his BBC shows again.
In the 70s, 80s, 90s we used to see his shows on TV / radio regularly but now no channels show this sort of music anymore.
All we get now is reality crap!
Couldn't agree more, TV nowadays is not even worth the licence fee! Nothing on the box can match the entertainment our Hansi can produce that's for sure :)
