Fun fact: The 2 of them were actually fighting for real from 2:11 to 2:38. You can see at 2:39 Wu Jing gave Yen a tiny nod to signal that he was ready to go back into the choreographed sequence of moves.
Spot on and good spot! I'd read in one of the Asian Cinema magazine interviews Wu Jing gave about filming with Donnie, where he talks about the 'unchoreographed' fight within the fight. He goes on to explain how, Donnie had told him to just react instinctively. It's a sic as fuck fight for sure!
Omg. Could you do the brutal murder scene from SPL1 where Jing jumps over the goal post and throws his knife? Your re-sounds are so good! AHHH! Gives the impacts so much more UMF!
You keep teasing with these Dragon Blade intros, you gonna post any full fights from it or no? I've not seen it so if it's trash and not worth a full re-sound I fully understand. Great to have this back btw, keep up the good work brother!
One thing I never understood about this plot: why the heck would Ma (Donnie Yen) actually BRING the money back to Wong Po (Sammo Hung)? That money is all Wong Po needs to get his criminal enterprise back up and running. If he gets that money back, that undercover cop will have died for NOTHING! And I think he knows Wong Po doesn’t intend to let he or Chan (Simon Yam) live.
Theres soo much detal in this fight, 1# knife: very confodent in its skill, untill that clean blow to the body. Now he lost his confodents, THEN...switches knife grip...confodents out the wind..
Never bring a knife to a baton fight! Especially if the baton is held by Donnie Yen. If thats Caine (Donnie Yen) from John Wick 4, he will bring a cane which has long hidden blade in it plus his motion sound sensor gadget, gun and even a fucking pencil to your knife fight. Might as well break the knife in two and called it a day against what Caine has in his hand. 😂🤪😜
i really wanted to like this film but the ending just totally killed the entire thing for me. not to mention Donnie Yen's character is kinda unlikable for a good chuck of the film.

**Donnie Yen**
“I’m the baton master.”
**Also Donnie Yen**
“Screw the baton, bare hands will do against this knife master.”

Good catch, makes sense, in that time, they were just improvising, until 2:39

Lol one tiny nod from one actor and you're gonna assume a bunch of nonsense?
There are not enough superlatives to describe just how good this is. The improved sound, the fight, the camera work, perfection.
Glad you like the video man!

Because if Ma didn't bring the money back, you wouldn't have the final boss fight!
