I am a flare jeans kinda girl. I probably was the weirdo who always wore flare, boot cut or wide leg jeans and never used skinny jeans when they were the trend. So, thanks for this tutorial
I am a pretty tall girl (5’9”, mostly legs and arms with a pear shaped torso). I fell into the skinny Jean craze a little later than most, because I didn’t like how tight they were. But as my hips filled out, I liked wearing them more and more because they were the only things that seemed to fit my hips….but they were too short for my long legs and most of my jeans ended looking like high waters. Cut to last year during a thrift shopping spree and I found and fell in love with some high-waisted flare jeans. Now I can no longer fit in my fave jeans because of weight gain but I think they would look so cute as flares! And I don’t want to give them up
Thx so much! Me and my friend are recycling some old black skinny jeans. We put tips above the knee and used a failed sewing project of mine (it was to take up a vest I got for free, didn’t work out as my sewing machine broke and severely damaged the fabric) and it was so fun making them. It’s fun to style too
When I hear you say “I’ve always been a…” I keep expecting the next words to “…a punk at heart.” I remember you being sent home from school for wearing a ripped Sid Vicious t-shirt and safety-pins. ❤️
Since skinnies are typically hemmed at the ankle, they end up being too short when converted to flares. This will work better with a straight leg or some jeans that will come down a little longer than the ankle.
I did run into this a bit but I wear them with boots and they look great. It really is about giving new life to the skinny jeans so, working with what we've got :)
Thank you for this. But I wish you had told me how to deal with the point (top of the triangle). Maybe I'm supposed to have better sewing skills...? Thx anyway.
Can this be done on leggings ? They are stretchy and my thighs have gotten fatter with age so to make them wearable again, I am thinking of widening them.
The wider I want my pant leg the shorter the triangle for the flare gets 😣 this is breaking my brain how do I make the hem even but still have the sides of my triangle be the same as what I ripped in my pants?
I think not all “flared” pants look equally wearable. I see some people wear them and some women simply don’t understand how they have to match with the correct clothes or hair, or shape. It’s like how if a guy tried wearing male bell bottoms it will look ugly no matter what if a guy has a buzz cut , short hair. Needs hair volume
Please work on your voice it goes lower at end of instances and is hard to listen too, it’s like croaking and painful, I’m been honest not to be awful just giving u cc I can’t watch anymore x
I remember you showing me how to make wide legged jeans into skinny jeans, circle of life lol
haha yuuuuup, the cycles of fashion beat on

Great video and instructions but
the music was annoying.
Agreed really hard to hear and understand the words with the music.

I can’t wait to do this! Great tutorial! Thanks!
🙂
You are rocking the boot cut leg pants.
If I wore heels like that, I'd get nose bleeds from the altitude! Thanks for the tutorial - greetings from England xx
I think personally you need to add length too, to make the right balance.

I certainly remember getting in trouble for dress code a lot, but I don't remember ever being sent home? lol

I just undo the hem even on skinny jeans! Makes them over an inch longer

Just add the same material as the flare and lengthen the hem with it or add long lace or ruffle for extra length. Make it work!
They would've looked great has they been longer.
I love this upcycle I can't wait to transform my skinny jeans. Thank you x

Skinny jeans are out, so is the vocal fry!!
What do you do about the length as they tend to be shorter
I didn’t catch the unhemming of the original jean 👀
Tyfs very nice! Love your jewelry too 😁💯👏🏾👏🏾

Great Idea :D Can't wait to make it!

Great video but the vocal fry though🙉
lady spent half the video trashing skinny jeans
Thanks for the tutorial. It is exactly what I was looking for. But the print on the fabric you attached makes me question your taste :(
It's her personal preference.
Yes, that's what the word 'taste' means@@tonyak2446
