Because you can't make a guitar sound like a bass. Reverse it and it doesn't work. The bass means he can achieve a solid bass sound and can double it up as a guitar with a pog (octave up) without it sounding flimsy.

They need a guitarist, badly. Not just for what that offers musically, but to give them a bit more presence as a band. I don't think it quite works with the two of them. Somehow The White Stripes pulled it off, probably because Jack White was very watchable.
For me it absolutely works and another guitarist would ruin everything that makes them unique. And especially live (not as a support act probably) the energy is like nothing i've seen live before. Especially considering they're not putting on a big show.

If he even had an ounce of charisma he'd have stayed on the stage and had a bit of banter with us but nah, just walked off leaving us all standing there. Plus his great line during the gig. Huge fan of both bands but I'd say royal blood is just more modern rock and better live whereas dfa are better in the studio (mostly cuz Sebastian struggles at hitting those notes while playing drums). Dfa did it first though and both rock hard in my books 🤟
DFA ‘79 are way better live, plus Jesse and Sebastien are way more professional than these two Love Island Deanos! I saw DFA ‘79 at Glastonbury in 2015 and they blew me away! I also turned down Foo Fighters tickets, because of RB supporting. Other, better bands were available, but they went with these!

Ben wearing Arctic Monkeys shirt at Glasto is the full circle moment I needed
dont need much..
I noticed that too lol
Can’t believe I’ve been a fan for nearly 10 years and not seen em live.
Definitely try to catch them live if you can, I've seen them twice now and they're absolutely amazing! Mike's bass sounds monstrous live!🤘🏻
Absolutely try to go for a concert in a small venue as well if you can. The energy is insane!
I caught them opening for Muse in Cologne 2 months ago and holy crap did they blow my socks off! Hope you get to experience the pair live ASAP!
Do it mate, the best band to see live
Same, will try to see them at Denver
this song is fire, royal blood is my favourite duo ever, and they sound absolutely amazing live
i'm really happy that i saw them in a small venue not long ago instead of a huge one. So much more party and escalation in small venues
How I looove Mountains at midnight 🔥
the bass riff is the actual chord instrument. OMG. I love it.
Wow, I can see a Brazilian flag there! How I wish to see them live in my country!
Ben wearing an AM shirt makes me want a RB/AM collab
I was waiting for it!!!
Ohh my gawwddd I can't wait to see these guys in Rome a couple weeks from now 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
VENHAM PRO BRASIL MEUS AMORES

the way mike sound like 3 peoples playing/singing so calm are awesome
*Mike not Matt lol
Just crazy, lost for words...
The fans quality is much better than that in BBC 1 big weekend 😂

the drummer add double bass drum to this version or it's just a effect too? studio version and others previous live is a single.

what a bad sound mix. destroying their frickin nice sound and vibe :(
Agreed......hard to get a good recording from such a wide open space.....

He’s doing that so he can make both the guitar and bass sound because there are only 2 members in the band, and one needs to play drums.
