When Isak scored, I couldn't stop smiling [MUFC fan] but Newcastle did lay it on thick with the time wasting and the 98th minute winner was merited. Firmino's goal was nice too (he made it look easier than it was) and everybody will focus on Carvalho's winner; happy for him. But it is Harvey Elliott that impressed, again, during the whole match. At 19 you have a potential long term star, and I am kinda jealous :)

Losing this game would have set a very different tone for the season but winning it will surely instill belief in the squad which will only get stronger when rest of the players come back from injuries. Fabio is a saviour.

Instead of blaming the extra time given, Eddie Howe needs to blame his defender who needlessly stepped back and played Salah onside.. They lost the 2 points for him
The extra time was justified as joelington and Nick pope both wasted around 3 minutes during added time
There was already two defenders on the line so it was onside either way
He should ‘blame’ the defender who flicked the ball away from Pope. If he had left it, it would’ve been caught by Pope or went out of play. Funny watching that part cause if that didn’t happen, we would’ve drawn for sure.

I also wish referees would be more strict about this, even willing to give red cards after warnings have been given. Just play football, stop te sad tactics. It’s not fun to watch and makes me lose respect. For example for Bruno Fernandes last week against Liverpool… yuck, I liked him before

Mad finish by Divock Carvalho. 2 key contributing factors - Joe Gomez was the only Liverpool player in the box who wasn't man-marked and he won the 1st header. You can see at least 2 Newcastle players pointing to him saying "someone mark him". Then Willock's back heel literally took the ball out of Pope's hands and kept it alive for Mo to win the 2nd header (off his shoulder). Wild scenes. 1:04 is a moment to forget for Trippier - he covers the line behind Pope and all he gets for his effort is a headache when Pope body slams on his head.
