Hi Gareth, I love Black pudding sausages, the butcher we go to makes his own and they are to die for and I will give them 12 out of 10. He also makes apple and pork, chicken and pork and Dragon sausages made with chillies, hot and nice. Enjoy your Porkers, Take care
Absolutely beautiful sausages... Top drawer quality, perfect amount of ingredients and a great price.. on a bap with a bit of brown sauce.. delicious. Very very good post Gareth.
Love The Jolly Hog's produce and the porky blacks are my favourite. The nicest sausages i've ever eaten. Glad you enjoyed them too, Gareth. Take care. 🤗
My local Co-Op has been stocking these for many months, and I always keep an eye on the Sell-By Dates and pick them up when they're marked down. A really cracking Supermarket sausage with a great flavour!
Yes, yes, yes! I love the sound of those! I do love a taste of apple in my sausages and the black pudding is a lovely touch. Thank you for showing them Gareth.
I support my local butchers as I live an hour round journey to the nearest supermarket. Their prices are great, local produce and cut to order the way I like it. It helps beingca carnivore as its my one-stop shop for everything 😅
*Outstanding- I do love The Jolly Hog products and I genuinely highly recommend them 💯👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻* You willing to review other jolly hog products? I can tell you that I love the cooked mini sausages- caramelised onion ones.theyre not that mini either and quite a few in the box. I love their ham too- difficult to get hold of but that could be a location thing. They had steak burgers in the summer too called the jolly cow and they were sensational too. Had a last minute Indian dinner last night so,bob mortimer toasties tonight.
Going back to toasted sarnies? I said previously that I was inspired by Gareths review. Tonight is movie night for me. So for my snack I made the following. Bread with garlic mayo on the outside instead of butter. Inside I put a kayer of some strong Cheddar cheese, a layer of Mozzarella, a slice of ham, a thin layer of English mustard, another layer of ham, Mozzarella and more Cheddar. Bunged it all into the old George Forman grill. The result? Wowzer, a true delight 🥰🥰. I had to make a second one. The tip about using mayo instead of butter was a top tip. Thanks Gareth. 👍👍. A nice cheese toastie, with that lovely stringy Mozzarella was delicious.
I tried the Jolly Pig unsmoked back bacon last week (was £2.50 on Tesco Clubcard deal - back up to £3.50 again now, sadly) but it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended - slightly thicker cut than most pre packed bacon, minimal shrinkage and super tasty. I think you’d love it, Gareth! 😋 Will definitely keep an eye out for these bangers too.
Made with the best black pudding too 🤩 - one thing to note is that these sausages are also Gluten Free made with our Gluten Free Black Pudding. Absolutely Perfect!!
also contains modified starch without stating the source (potential allergic/sensitivity reaction) - dextrose without source - mono and diglycerides without source - sodium metabisulphite -
I recommended these to u a few months ago, glad you’ve got around 2 trying them at last. They r rather nice though the casing is a tad tough. I tend to take the meat out & cook them without it. Much nicer. Xx
HI good video yum my other half will go nuts wen I show her this video she loves pork black pudding apple we have not got a lot of room left in the fridge or freezer after watching all of your food reviews. stay strong. 👌👌👍👍
Been using a butter crock and its brill! A cup that you invert filled with butter into a bigger cup filled with water. Don't have to fridge the butter. stays fresh, but useable.
Anyone suggesting on this site that we should support our local butcher has entirely missed the whole point of it. The site is to let us know Gareth's opinion of stuff that we can buy at our local supermarket. Anyone trying to sell us their opinion of their local artisan baker's buns, or their local pie shop's sausage rolls, isn't going to get many clicks.
Hi Gareth.... I have just bought the caramelised onion version of the Jolly Hog sausages for this weekend.... There are only £2:75 at Tescos atm.... Have you tried their bacon yet?.... It comes in a pack of 6 slices and really tastes like bacon should.... Maybe you could do a review on that.... Another good thing about Jolly Hog is that their sausages are gluten-free. I miss being able to buy beef & tomato sausages.... No where , butchers included makes them nowadays where I live in Stoke-on-Trent I saw that Fry Bentos have soup out now.... I am avoiding after your other reviews on their new items.... Thanks for another great review... Hope the family are all doing great....xx
They look like a very decent sausage and in real terms the sausage sarnie cost a little over a pound, now that is not bad at all for a decent breakfast. Don't often shop at Morrison's but these will be on any list whenever we do go.
The place I use isn't a butcher but he makes and sells all kinds and the black pudding sausage from there is really dark and looks like black pudding without the apple. He also does venison sausage. He makes burgers of the same ingredients. It's also cheaper than the supermarket and wrapped in paper. I've got some bacon from there I got a few weeks ago and it lasts forever and just dries up instead of sweating and going off 👍💚💛❤️
Sausages, 180c for 18 minutes will cook them, longer if you want them really brown. Going to try these as at our pub restaurant we love black pudding. Black pudding rounds are cooked 40 seconds in commercial microwave and then 20 seconds deep fat fryer, this keeps them perfectly moist.
These look the bees knees of sausages. Just great to add to your English Breakfast or a sausage Sarnie. A great product for you to review m8. £3 isn't too expensive compared to the Richmond brand, ( which are crap ), either. Looks like my neighbour will be on a shopping mission on her next trip to town. 🤔😀🤔.
Hello Gareth, look I'm an old-fashioned bloke. Like yourself, hail the porker 🐷🐖. Sausages fantastic, fabulous. A well filled sandwich, bap, roll, baguette brilliant. But just make mine with pure pork, salt'n'pepper seasoning. Fry or Grilled, add dollop of brown sauce. And eat. Heavenly 😇🤗😋Keep 'em plain & simple. Still takes all sorts, and good eating for everyone Allan&Family
Hi8 Gareth, Believe it or not i bought these yesterday from Tesco and ate 2 this morning on hot dog rolls with ketchup. They are superb. Coarse textured and you can taste the quality. I am going to try their other products like bacon etc. Stevie in Fife.
West coast meats that used to be at workington used to do a breakfast Cumberland, it had bacon and black.pudding them, were fantastic. Was 2 x 2kg sausages for £12
We've been getting these Jolly Hog pork, black pudding and apple sausages from Morrisons for quite a few months now. They're really nice, juicy and tasty. A bit expensive but we'd rather pay a little more for sausages that actually have some meat in them!
Thanks for introducing those Gareth i 'm going out this morning to find them. When i discover something that good i praise vegans because it means more for me
I watch a lot of your videos, however in the latest one on the black pudding and apple review, I wondered why you put the brown sauce on the sandwich, at least you could have tried half the sandwich without the sauce, it’s not a criticism, keep up your sterling work, and I hope your feeling Spot On 😊 Steve Naylor
These look absolutely delicious and would go great with some bacon, fried bread, egg, mushrooms and a couple of slices of black pudding👌 Asda sell some black pudding that has cinnamon as an ingredient. Sounds wrong but it is now my favourite black pudding.
Wow, I must have had a bad packet (Purchased March 2024) as mine were horrid. They were far too sweet (Caramelised Sugar Syrup) and had no black pudding flavour, thanks for the vids, very entertaining... at the moment (17.12.24) 3 for £10 Cheers Baz...
I absolutely love these and buy them when they are always on offer in any supermarket and I'm like you love sausage meat and black pudding, I'm waiting for them to do pigs in blankets or maybe they already do
@@ekspatriatwell OK then. Thanks to the extortionately high Council taxes they could no longer afford, without the passing trade. Is that sufficiently accurate enough for you? 😊
First tried these from Sainsbury's during lockdown. I hope they are as good now. Had the Jolly Hog Chipolatas last week, terrible, lots of fat and water came out.
Hi Gareth I'm lucky enough that my local high street has a sausage shop. They make about 70 different varieties and they also make biltong as well. There sausages are around 90% upwards meat and absolutely banging
When I get sausages I cook (well, frazzle 😄) the lot, then cool and freeze the remainder. Efficient user of oven and means you can microwave / thaw others when you fancy a quick sausage sandwich!
we have a square slice sausage with a black pudding centre called a , clyde tunnel sausage, love it
That sounds absolutely scrumptious! 😮😁
Black Heart is another name for them

Have what you enjoy I guess. Thanks.

My local butchers closed about 10 year ago. I don't even know of any butchers where i live. So it's supermarket for me.
Nice one Gareth but I think you have got the wrong sauce. Hp is the way to go, proper job.

Fab video but do you have to bring out the brown sauce it makes my mouth water 🤣🤣 Mmmm!
These sausages are on offer in Tesco at the moment for £2.50, and Gareth is right. They are very good 👍.
You can't review every local butchers produce in the country, but, you can show us what supermarkets are doing. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
They look decent, will have to go up to Morrisons. Yum!!
