Wet Track, Wrong Tires! E46 328 struggling for grip at cold damp Zandvoort RSZ Trackday | 23/11/2024

I had the chance to take my brother for a ride at Zandvoort during a cold and damp trackday session. With his packed tourist schedule, we could only squeeze in one session at the end of the day. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to get the semi-slicks up to temperature, and just as the tires started to feel right, the session was over.
Even so, it turned into a valuable learning experience. Handling the car in such tricky conditions got me thinking about how setup changes-like softening the dampers and sway bars-might improve grip and balance next time. I’m excited to put these ideas to the test in future sessions.
