⛰HIKING THE BEAUTIFUL 'OLD PIPE TRACK' - TABLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, CAPE TOWN - JAN 2021 - 4K

⛰ Back in Cape Town, getting ready for our Gough Island Expedition, we decided to stretch our legs a bit and hiked along the beautiful 'Old Pipe Track' on a sunny afternoon. 'The Old Pipe Track' is famous for its beauty and tranquility and is one of the easiest, but also one of the most enjoyable hikes in Cape Town.

The walk starts at the junction of Tafelberg Road and Kloof Nek and runs below a series of peaks known as the Twelve Apostles. The path was constructed to service the pipeline that carried water from Disa Gorge in Table Mountain’s Back Table to the Molteno Reservoir in Oranjezicht to help slake the thirst of the booming, late 19th century Cape Town.
Distance: about 6km one-way to Corridor Ravine
Time: 4hrs - 4hr30mins return
Rating: easy to Slangolie, moderate to Corridor
