In February, myself and Simon spent a day exploring the aptly-named Tranquility Cracks on Table Mountain. Located on the peak between Slangholie and Corridor Ravines, yellowwood trees rise up between a labyrinth of boulders, and dozens of deep, narrow corridors through the rock create a wonderland of pathways which are completely sheltered and hidden from the rest of the mountain. Walking above these passages, treetops are easily mistaken for bushes, but a closer inspection reveals drops of well over 10m to the ground beneath.
We started from Theresa Avenue, then made our way along the Pipe Track and up Corridor Ravine. We took a quick detour via the peak to the South of Corridor Ravine, and then headed towards Tranquility Cracks to do some exploring. We then made our way across to Disa Gorge, had a quick swim in Woodhead Reservoir, and then headed down Kasteelsport.
Feel free to contact me if you'd like more info about this hike.
