Russ did a great job reproducing the FXRT Fairing, beautiful, functional, lots of protection and space for audio if yo7 want it. Add the Lowers and you really have it zipped up. it’s one of the best fairings for those long stretches of interstate at 100mph on cruise control man, much better than a Batwing. Not only that but it’s great in the twisties as well. Buy a Softail Standard and do a ZIPPERS 128 Engine and one of these Fairings, add some good saddlebags and cruise control, done deal!
@@ebshitbird2217 I don’t mind at all. Visibility is fine. Basically on par with the street glide/road glide. You can’t see the front wheel but forward visibility is fine

@@johanw8157 I honestly couldn't tell you. Never done any lane splitting before. I was just having some buffeting issue with the one that came with the fairing and now it's pretty gone.
FXRT fairing is the best !!!! It would be cool to see those light pods installed and let us know if wind management changed. I think you should also get those lowers installed...it would definitely improve wind management...although it might increase heat engine radiant heat...
I was really considering this fairing for my bike until I saw a 2018 streetbob with one the proportions were all wrong, but your bike is a absolute dime piece with the fxrt set up! I guess I’m just gonna have to get another bike just so I can run this fairing.
Yes your comment on being expensive is my concern but am looking for comfortable wind protection without all the noise and wind buffeting. Not sure if the road worrier would provide enough wind protection without all the buffeting and wind noise. Or do you know something else that might be ok and still not the big expense. 👍
There are definitely a few other companies that make it, but I haven't really explored too many other options. For the riding I do, it's worth the money

Hey BK, can you do a video explaining the Harley culture or attraction to Harley's? I've been riding for 35 years and have ridden a few Harleys but can't get the whole pirate thing or the Harley culture, Harleys always seem to be old technology, slow unreliable and the dealers want you to bend over whenever you walk through the door. I currently ride a 2016 GSX-S1000f that I'm sure I could ride twice around the country and never have any issues with. My Harley friends always seem to accept breakdowns or electrical gremlins as part of the cost of owning a Harley totally unaceptable in my opinion. I'm not a Harley hater but I just don't understand.
Great review, I've heard the RWD is a nightmare to get painted because it's covered in a whole bunch of pin holes from the way it's made so it takes a ton of prep work compared to like a jd customs or imzz elite fairing. What was end cost for you like 5g after everything was said and done?
Villian2Hero on instagram sells them painted black with all the hardware and lowers for $1500. I got mine and it's extremely high quality. All the mounts and brackets are powder coated black too. He's a really solid dude to work with as well.
Nah the cost wasn’t anywhere near that - If you do it yourself you can probably knock it all out for somewhere around $2500 - (considering paint and hardware)

Hey man, you are referring to this Fairing as a FXRT fairing, witch is understandable, but it actually is a Harley Davidson Nova fairing: th-cam.com/video/DgdQ1QRAPAg/w-d-xo.html The Nova never made it to production but the EVO motor did. And although the first FXR's had a 1340 cc Shovel engine, the later models of course came with the all new EVO enigne, just like my 1985 FXRT and my wife's 1986 FXRS. So there Harley Davidson was... having this FXR motorcycle and having all of the R&D of the Nova available... So what they did actually, was this: they've combined the available Nova Fairing and Nova hard-case bags with the existing FXR and so the FXRT / FXRD and FXRP were developed. Of course this fairing got the FXR name, but it actually was no FXR fairing...but a Nova fairing, and that also goes for the hard cases. Just for your information, and thank you very much for your review of this aftermarket HD Nova fairing ;-)
