This kind of videos are excellent! I am a coach myself and i appreciate the time and dedication spent on theese videos. Now I can say to the kids back at the club that if you want to learn and see something good, go to here! Thank you guys!
And special thanks to Aaron for explaining the difference in speed and technic training so the kids still will listen to me when i tell them to pivot their feet :D
GingerNinjaTrickster Hey! I got some questions for you : When did you start training Taekwondo? When did you start stretching and how much time did it took to have your full split?
Thanks GNT ! It's very interesting , motivating as well informative ! You can invite Servet Tazegul and Levent Tuncat as well if you want ! That would be VERY awesome as well !
i d love to see a blendover between the different standard techniques of basic kicks between kickboxing, karate, TKD and thaiboxing. i think there is beautiful footage to explore and a lot to learn from the comparison
can anyone tell me what is the name of the kicking pad they are using? dont tell me kicking pad because it doesnt come up when i google it.at least not that one.i wan to look it up on line.thank you.
Great video guys! I like to see drills like this. Also, I think it's both smart and mature of you, Aaron, to incorporate WTF Taekwondo techniques into your videos so that you can reach out to a larger audience. Personally, I train in the Olympic style, but I've been watching your videos since I started and they definitely helped me! I was also lucky enough to meet Aaron Cook last year at a competition :D Thanks and keep it up!
Well practices makes perfect the speed of the kick that they performed takes years to practices and hardwork How many video did you film with them gnt ? are you uploading them everyweek ?
I train under WTF rules and I really wanna train my punches. Since our trainer won't train our punches. Do you guys have any advice to train punches at home?
Basically it forces you to breathe out when you yell. So that you perform proper inhaling and exhaling before and after a kick. Also tightens up your core a little bit right before impact so that when you release that tension, it gets some power. Lastly, I think it helps with the adrenaline, keeping you in "fight" mode :P
What I don't understand is why fighters train kicking upwards with the turning kick, instead of turning their hips & kicking parallel to the ground. I mean won't that slide up when connected with a real human body. It'll make sense if the fighters fought leaning forward or something. But they mostly fight standing upright. So it makes no sense to kick upwards. & I'm not only talking about these two. Most MMA fighters train their round kicks like this. The coaches will hold the pads downward & the fighters will kick upwards. Why the coaches don't hold the pads sideways?
Shinsuke Nakamura Because it's easier to move faster ! The lesser the angle ..the more speed you will have ! That kind of technique you are mentioning is for power ! The more angle ....means more power !
Proper taekwondo technique would be turning the hip after the chamber, but in fights you want to be as fast as possible. The goal isn't to cause max damage but points. It's a game
Jose Aldo hits pads like this too. A lot of people do, especially in muay thai. It's more frequent in muay thai than taekwondo, it's a matter of choice. Some prefer this method because hits faster and since kicks are so powerful as long as it hits, it will be doing damage.
some taekwondo kicks can`t be applied in mma cause u let your stance open, but u can see some in mma, like axe kick, tornado kick, back spinning kick etc...
Tasos Mourikis that's because taekwondo fighters don't have to worry about being punched in face or taken down,as generally taekwondo fighters not ground fighters wouldn't be good idea to be taken down ground and pounded for 5 mins,
Hey Ginger, i have a question and i hope i can get an answer from you. But first i have to tell you that i am 20 years old and i am 188cm tall, i train at home and watch youtube videos ''Taekwando stretching, kicks for beginners'' and all that amateur stuff... I really love Martial Arts and my question is: is it too late to start learning Martial Art like Taekwando or Karate at age 20, because i see most of the people start these arts at their early ages. I want to learn all of these technics for my self and because i go to the GYM- i feel my self very stiff. I want to be more flexible and agile and outside are all kind of people so one day if its needed (i hope not), but i want to know how to move my legs too :D :)
HighTower he moved his nationality to Moldova, in 2012 he is number one rank in wtf, but somehow britain doesn't choose him for the Olympic team, but they choose lutalo muhammad at that time rank 59. so after the 2012 Olympic Aaron has moved his nationality to isle of man and then got the offer to move again to Moldova that fully supports Aaron Cook
I thought so but I didn't want to make a mistake, thanks and I'm glad that Moldova supports him if the British can't appreciate a great fighter and I hope that he'll bring gold to Moldova ;)
Hey guys how tall do you think Bianca Walkden is? She seems real tall & much taller than GNT. I guess she's like between 5'11 to 6'2. That's just in my opinion.
Big differences between tkd old and new school... those round kicks these guys are doing just works on competitions... they makes the kicks with they legs almost totally extended... this open your guard and make it so easy to receive a counter attack... Old school TKD to make the round kicks is required to keep your knees bent before the kick... this will make your guard keep closed while you are aplicating the kick.
It’s supposed to be a quick burst of air guys that gives more power to your kicks. Not screaming like this, that just Exerts more energy on you and actually takes away from power. A simple, YA! HA! or even AH! Every kick will do, but do it every kick! Helps with speed. Not every 2 kicks every kick!
I followed their advice in the video and did this including the screaming. My Neighbors called the cops on me. :(

Cool and I will do my best to :)
my first competion will be next month wish i could improve with this tips
Did you win? I had my first around the same time. Just finished my third tournament.
Anyone know a good kick sheild like the one they are using small, but still big enough for kicking?
Waiting for newer videos with Aaron cook
Well practices makes perfect the speed of the kick that they performed takes years to practices and hardwork
How many video did you film with them gnt ? are you uploading them everyweek ?
Only filmed these two and potentially another one soon :)
Ginger got a question, how many hours do they train everyday?
Me looking up vids to be better at sparring and then watching this vid and realizing that my master made me do these exercises with him one on one
some comments here are pretty annoying..U GUYS R AMAZING ANYWAY!!!
Great video guys love kicking ones,Aaron cook got brilliant kicks, are they really tall or are you small gnt ??,
I'm glad you liked them and i'm 5'10".
height really matters in taekwondo
Does it ?
Similar to the old “chasing the pig” game we used to play using focus pads
I train under WTF rules and I really wanna train my punches. Since our trainer won't train our punches.
Do you guys have any advice to train punches at home?
Check out the videos I made. They will help :)
GingerNinjaTrickster Thank you :)
Why do they scream?...Does this give more power to the technique?
my couch tells me its so you don't forget to breath.
coach

Thank you for clarifying, bro.
yeah thats what i meant ha
Best

Shinsuke Nakamura _I know what are you talking about. & I also don't understand it. Maybe GNT can enlighten us..._
Because it's faster. It's also very dumb because you can kick an elbow
Shinsuke Nakamura Because it's easier to move faster ! The lesser the angle ..the more speed you will have ! That kind of technique you are mentioning is for power ! The more angle ....means more power !

Some prefer this method because hits faster and since kicks are so powerful as long as it hits, it will be doing damage.
I think that these kicks would really help an mma fighter step up his game, since most of them rely heavily on muai Thai kicks.
Tasos Mourikis this isn't Muay Thai this is taekwondo
some taekwondo kicks can`t be applied in mma cause u let your stance open, but u can see some in mma, like axe kick, tornado kick, back spinning kick etc...

James Miles yep xD
Movement is definitely good in WTF and can be used in certain situations for sure :)
Hey Ginger, i have a question and i hope i can get an answer from you.

on Aron's right arm is a blue, yellow, red flag, can you tell me what is it? I don't want to do a mistake, that's why I'm asking

What I learned here, that these guys do not keep their head protected and shout a lot :D bet good stuff, thanks
Sport taekwando isnt about getting headshots, its about getting points on the midsection/ribcage - which they are protecting.
good up👊💘👽💥
:D
hey gnt can you tell me how to counter jump front kick and pop front kick
I will cover tactics soon :)
okk :)
best couple ever
:D
Hey guys how tall do you think Bianca Walkden is? She seems real tall & much taller than GNT. I guess she's like between 5'11 to 6'2. That's just in my opinion.
thank u again arron
More videos on Olympic taekwondo drills

The people who are commenting on their ki ahps & trying to 'correct' them probably have no idea who Aaron & Bianca are.. lol now that's funny !
would like more videos on drill
I wish this guys was my coaches hahaha
6:30 - When you are late but they disturb you from going.
lol
I'm glad you liked them and good luck with your training :)
+Jonathan T Agree, It could be very difficult to practice it on the level where it can be used in sparring. Good luck!
GNT, how tall are you?
How many months/years did it take for you to be a black belt
Icewallowcome from white belt it takes around 5-6 years
damn. i wanna go to dajang again

Wow hey gnt how tall are they and how tall are u
يا سلام
If you turn those low kicks to target the groin, they instantly become devastating as self defense techniques. 😉
