    The greatest line in it didn't get a reaction from it.
    Tom robbing the post office.
    Ted: " you haven't been up to your old tricks again Tom"
    Tom:"Ah no Father, tis my money, I just didn't want to fill up the forms".
    The depth of lunacy involved in pat shortts character Tom is genius.

    Since you've realised the genius of Father Jack I have a story from the early 2000's when a US company bought us and set their HR department on us. They insisted that everyone provide a portrait picture to go on their HR profile. I sent them a picture of Father Jack. They did question it, but I eventually convinced them that it was me. So for the next 4 years the company thought I really looked like Father Jack.

My ex father in law was horrible, in fact most of the family were, I don't know why I look back on them with a kind of nostalgia, I think the father in law was the best of a rotten bunch.

    It was so sad that the actor, who played Father Ted, died shortly after the show ended. He and his wife had friends around for dinner, and he died at the table from a severe heart attack. We were all so sad.

    First at all, great reaction you two.
    As a catholic grown boy myself here in Germany( by a mother, who is very religious and a father, who've left the church as he've became 18), i'm getting the feeling for that show a lot , hillarious.
    I've always respect that my mother(from Opole, former german called 'Oppeln') who have got a background of extremely catholic standard , became a very more milder person on this matter, when she've married my dad.
    He is an engineer and former construction worker.
    I can fully understand the humour on this show, first hand.
    I'm german and not irish, but there are many similarities in the punchlines, i've a relation to.
    Nevertheless, it is a funny show by itself.
    Greetings

    Father Ted, for me, is one of those rare shows where with only a few exceptions, it just feels like each episode is even better than the last one. Honestly - I fell in love with the show in 1995 and thought series 1 was brilliant but has a few 'slow but funny' episodes... But then series 2 was improved on this and got crazier... And then magically, after a two year wait, series 3 was absolutely perfect barring only the finale - and that's only because of the circumstances surrounding it.

One of my neighbour's parents was grumbling about the roast burning in the oven back home and like a good few others, she ducked out at Communion time. • @Cobalt-Jester
    @Cobalt-Jester ปีที่แล้ว

    Mrs Doyle is the stereotypical Irish Catholic prude. She's actually married, It's mentioned in a few episodes. We never find out where her husband is or if her husband is dead or how it fits around her being the house kepper. I think it's first mentioned in the episode where they give things up for Lent. The episode is called "Cigarettes, Alcohol, and Rollerblades" or something like that. I can't say much more without spoilers. But Mrs Doyle is graphically describing how disgusting she thinks sex is to Father Ted. If I say more it foes into spoilers. But I think that's when we learn shes married and has a husband.
