Nice video! I've found it goes faster if you smash (not chop!) the meat to mostly cover the bottom of the pan. More surface area of the pan is then in contact with meat.
Yeah...why should I trust you? Break it up, flip it whole as she says, break it up, dip out the drippings?,...no, you just say, "high heat till the 'water evaporates". By then the meat is boiled and rubbery. Go on with your "expert" advice.
Absolutely brilliant! Never cooked ground beef before. Glad this video came up, when I searched on TH-cam for instructions on how to cook ground beef. I followed these simple, clear, easy to follow instructions with perfect results! The kind of outcome, I' expect from. pro!
well I havent tried this yet...and I will...and hopefully will be amazed at the difference....but for now I cant get over trying to figure out how I can tell when the texture is brown 😂😂
You would go about medium-high heat but add a small amount of oil with high smoke point. You won't get the brown crust if it isn't hot enough- you'll get the grey, chewy gross-ness.
I have a question regarding food safety and ground beef. If I prepare ground beef for tacos (in tiny broken-up pieces) is it unsafe to immediately break the meat up in the skillet while still raw and red? Will it prevent the smaller pieces of ground beef from cooking thoroughly or evenly??
The problem i find with these method is that the middle part doesn't become browned at all in the beginning, because of the thickness, let's call it a patty, has. When the time comes for the middle part to get browned, meat that was on the outside is already done, resulting later on for it to become burned if we are waiting for the rest of meat to get nicely browned.
Rather than cooking the ground beef in one large mass, try slicing the mass into cubes before putting it into the skillet. Brown the cubes on one side, flip them over and brown the other side before breaking it all apart.

Love your video. You say some important things that we need to know about browning hamburger. Fussing around with the meat while it is browning is unnecessary. It is almost like "beating the hamburger" while it is cooking. Not good!
It's not rocket science. Add ground beef to a hot non stick skillet and add diced onions and garlic and cook until browned. Drain the fat and add your favorite pasta sauce,Italian seasonings for a perfect meat sauce for spaghetti.

Wow! Such a simple thing makes such a difference in the flavor. Thank you!
Glad I found this channel. Good camera, good personality, good info.
Thanks!
I've been through so many videos . Trust me , the simplest way is fry on high heat till the water evaporates then it will start browning
You have made a lot of boiled ground beef

Great tips, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks you help me make great manwich literally the first time ever cooking ground beef

Loved this video! When do we add the seasoning and veggies?
You can add seasoning and veggies once the meat is brown (toward the end). Enjoy!
great info
Great thank you

That looks more like a lb out of a 2 lb pack am i the only the one thinking that? But still good instructions
nice, thanks!!
Very welcome!
Older video still yummy,,, 🎉🎉New Subscriber 🎉🎉
Cast iron pan is a pro move!!
Thanks!
How would you cook a ground beef log that is more tube shaped?
Just mash it out flat with the back of a spatula.
Is that an after market skillet handle sleeve? Where do we get that or a skillet with it? Which skillet brand are you using?
It's a lodge and you can get both on Amazon
It is- here is the link (aff)- amzn.to/3JqzPwk
If the pan is non stick can you still use high heat? This way of cooking totally blew my mind as a cooking noob
You would go about medium-high heat but add a small amount of oil with high smoke point. You won't get the brown crust if it isn't hot enough- you'll get the grey, chewy gross-ness.
Excelente
At what point in the browning process do you add salt/pepper?
Towards the end, otherwise the pepper can burn and the salt will just draw out liquid you want to stay in the beef to keep it juicy.
When do you add onions?
Toward the end. Enjoy!
Why the annoying MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll take that into account.
Thanks
Very welcome!
Use something like lard or bacon fat, not vegetable or seed oils.
1000 % Correct! Vegetable & Seed Oil are basically Chemical Oils and were originally used for Cars ! 😊
That’s fine
@Mike H ty ✌
No, it should be fine as long as it was handled correctly to begin with.
Does this same method work for ground turkey or chicken, or do those not have enough fat in them?
Any meat benefits from having as much of the surface as possible in contact with the pan. Great question!
Where have you been all my life?!
Is it frozen? Or have to thaw first before browning?
Thaw first.
can I use cooking spray instead of oil?
Yes, you can!

I don't think I followed that- you do break it up at some point.
Rather than cooking the ground beef in one large mass, try slicing the mass into cubes before putting it into the skillet. Brown the cubes on one side, flip them over and brown the other side before breaking it all apart.
Do you ever add baking soda?
I typically stick with this easy method! Thanks for watching!
If I use a non stick pan is using oil necessary? I’m trying to watch my calories, and there’s a ton of calories in oil. I use 93/7.

Sure, but lower fat content will also be harder to sear and and get the brown without oil.
Music is way too loud I can't understand anything she's saying
What do you mean? I can hear it fine
FACTS
Ack! That music is HORRIBLE! Totally unnecessary. Very distracting.
Love the video...Hate the background music. Very distracting. Thanks for your effort.
We'll keep that in mind.
It's nice leaker man
Love your video. You say some important things that we need to know about browning hamburger.
Fussing around with the meat while it is browning is unnecessary. It is almost like "beating the hamburger" while it is cooking.
Not good!
Glad it was helpful!
Sorry, couldn’t continue watching music irritating
Now I know what I've been doing wrong.
That’s way more than half a pound of ground beef.
Gee I hope you're not using vegetable or seed oil
I'm a fan of your video but this music is clown like, annoying & totally unnecessary.
Brown in brown out
came to find a way for it not to stick, but it stuck for you lol

Vegetable oil....
more oil, more fat and more love baby!
AGREE!!!!
Terrible music
Yeah, unfortunately using vegetable oil. Bad idea.
annoying music
Seriously, people don't know how to brown meat
Thanks
