    Nice mod. The ONLY thing I would change is to put a more street friendly tire on the back to reduce rolling resistance, and increase your performance that much more.

      Thanks,
      Yes, the noise of the rear tire was driving me crazy and I already switched all three for slick tires. Much more enjoyable now. I will post an updated video once I have the rear suspension installed.

    Hi. Is it a kayak canopy?
    The transparent front cover is great but I can't find one for my Azub Tricon.
    Then I try to build a carbon's shell like the Le Mans by the French JV Fenioux, my favourite velomobile.

      I made the canopy. If you make one like this, do not bend the fiber glass rods as much as I did as they eventually break.

      Thanks, yes, this is a kmx from utah trike. 10kW max, now limited to 7.5kW.
      I can replicate this one, but I would have to sell it at around 13K$ .

    Has that seat ever been a prob? those thin rods holding the backrest up, look like they'd break over time with your back pushing up on them. and the locking tighteners on the bottom of the seat don't look like it'd likely hold it stationed if your feet are always pushing your body back cause your peddling.

      So far, I have 2500km on the bike and no, the KMX seat never moved and the bracket are really strong. This being said, this seat is not comfortable for long ride. I strongly suggest investing in the deluxe version if you buy a KMX.

    Great job with your e-trike, Adam. It is, by far, the most impressive one I have seen on the web. I wonder how you feel about the direct steering of the KMX though. I have heard that it can be troublesome at high speeds.

    • @adams333
      @adams333  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words =)
      The suspension enlarge the trike and also make it a bit harder to steer. It act like a mini steering dampener and I have no stability issues at high speed.
      Edit: I just realized this video don't have the suspension yet. It is a lot more stable and enjoyable once the suspension is installed : endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78893

    Where do I buy everything like you with a few batteries so I can drive for 300km? I live in Vietnam. Thanks for all info.

      The component list can be found at : endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51873
      I have 2.4 KW battery pack right now and I can ride around 100km. You would need a small trailer to do 300km.

      Rain drops does indeed hit my face while driving. The canopy is mainly there for the sun.

    where did you get your canopy..? I want to put a solar panel and a charge/boost controller to recharge my etrike. :)

    • @adams333
      @adams333  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rob,
      I did it myself, you can follow the details on this thread :endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51873&sid=6b51fff3a730ecc3c0b8fa7de92fdddd
      Its a nice Idea to have solar panel on the roof, but you wont get much energy back with such a small surface though.

    • @rdkuless
      @rdkuless 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Adam... Thanks for the reply.. A 100w flexible solar panel will put out 18v and is just 4lbs and 40"x 22". If pared up with a Genasun charge Boost controller, the controller will take that 18v and increase it to 48v (low amps) but enough to trickle charge the battery so that you extend your battery range by 1-2 hours of ride time. At 20mph. Even one hour extension is 20mile increase on range. There are other charge Boost controllers that take a low voltage (like 18v) and can increase the voltage up to 72v. But when you increase the volts you loose the amps. But as a trickle charger, it's a pretty good thing. I'm also thinking about (3) 50w flexible panels, 1) on the canopy, and 2) on the trailer in parallel to increase the amps without increasing the voltage.
      I think my only concern about a canopy is wind gust. You can always take off a piece of fabric, but what do you do with a solar panel in the wind..? LOL

      Hello Whitepaw Rolls. I bought 5 of these to give out on the holidays. I carry mine with me everyday to keep my Garmin GPS charged and keep the back light on continuously. I have had mine for 3 years and it still works perfectly. :)

    • @adams333

      Not this version. There is roughly 7-8k in components alone. It would sell for 10-13k depending on the options.
