      @Last One Standing Prayers are never wasted, especially for the team I love and admire. I played basketball in a time that it ended at high school.

    She went from being a great player to a great coach. I’m a Uconn fan, but huge respect for her and her approach to the game.

    Great coach! She's not caring about a regular season game. She, like every great coach, is pointing to the Big Show. She is high level, always has been.

    I have to say I’m a husky fan for life and have been for 30 yrs.. but I’ve got mad respect for dawn and what she has created at SC I will tell you the big diff in the 2 teams Imo is that uconn has always played with finesse and SC has and is a scrappy team which throws uconn out of their game bc they are not used to it nor do they play that way… it’s always a good game to watch it’s replaced the rival team UT imo which was bound to happen when summit died. I do love the scrappiness and toughness SC has and has had and I think that’s due to Dawn….. she was always a scrappy tough player big props to her she doin the thing!!

    • @wda2478
      @wda2478 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They weren’t a finesse team when Griner was begging Mulkey to take her out of the game because Charles was destroying her in the paint. What you are calling scrappy and tough is called defense. I called it 2 yrs ago when Zona ran UCONN off the court. Geno’s transition open 3’s offense is vulnerable to teams with players that can D-up on shooters. UCONN also hasn’t had inside post presence since Stewie, Dolson, Tuck, and Stokes. Geno knew the only team to beat was SC and he’s content to blow teams out and not get his inexperienced bigs in the game. Right now he is simply being out coached.

      @@wda2478 I agree with you about uconn not having a inside presence in a while… but disagree with you about him being out coached…. He is right it’s not an easy thing to win as much as he has for sooooo long up until now and it’s even harder bc now all your good players and talent are mixing it up more and are not just going to one place such as uconn… they still get their pick but like HVL is at Louisville and Clark at Iowa and so on it’s more of a mixed game imo bc the talent is spreading out and I don’t care how good of a coach you are if you don’t have talent you don’t have crap period….I’m saying that in general not referring to uconn just saying it’s alot harder than it used to be esp now with all their injuries they keep having…. So as the saying goes your as strong as your weakest link.

      @@hollyjones8775 In today’s climate where other programs are attractive and with the transfer portal Geno is killing the program with his inflexible “good practice” policy of floor time. His bigs need experience. He allowed Anna Makurat to run up and down the floor with zero production. Geno has become like Pat. If he has a great team he can run you off the floor. If he actually has to coach “In game” he flat out sucks. Coach K took inferior talent to the tournaments and won. That’s great coaching. Those two loses at the buzzer were inexcusable when they knew which player was going to shoot. This team would get dragged by the Phee, Lou, Nurse, Gabby, and Dangerfield squad and that team came up empty.

      @@wda2478 listen I did not come here to argue just gavemy thought… yes I agree with you about the team being dragged by the dangerfield group for sure diff caliber of players which happens every so many yrs. Geno has said it himself and I agree with that. I’m pretty familiar with dangerfield as I only live 30 mins from her high school and saw her play in state followed her well. Was super proud she was the first Tn girl geno had ever recruited from Tn of course. I don’t compare coach k to coach geno I don’t compare Boys and girls coaches bc they are diff players and somewhat of a diff type of game to a degree even tho girls have come a long way. I do agree coach k is a legend as well but I don’t know how he would be with a girls team? I would like to think just as good but then again I’ve seen coaches that do better with opposite or same gender but have not seen many that crossed over from what they were used to coaching and be just as successful switching to coaching boys/girls or girls/boys

    • @wda2478
      @wda2478 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hollyjones8775 Was not comparing. Was saying if you are a great COACH you need to win under less than optimal circumstances. One of the reason sport’s history is littered with upsets is because someone did an outstanding job of IN GAME coaching other times players over achieve.

    Dawn is so effin smart. She knows with a full roster SC gave up their single loss last year to an undersized and undermanned(women) Mizzou team. She is a gamer. She is playing UCONN with purpose.
