- More than 100,000 homes in England are still covered in potentially deadly cladding despite the risk being identified seven years ago.

This is the first update since the report into the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, which said all 72 deaths were avoidable.

Everything about housing in the UK is a racket
Yes but immigrants love it what ever the state it’s a step on the ladder
@@Ramblingpete It's a step to financial ruin
Dude just delete the 'about' and 'housing' and you've nailed it.
Oh the irony: "work can't start until building safety regulator approval." You couldn't make this sh!t up.
How many bosses of the businesses and of the official inspectorate have gone to prison over this?
How many from Chelsea and Westminster are in prison over their choice to not listen to safety warnings?
pathetic isn't it
They couldn't start the police investigation until the enquiry was finished last week. It's going to take a while but there will be some prosecutions. Might only be of organisations though rather than individuals. Some of the worst are French from the cladding manufacturer. They might not get extradited.
@@adrianthoroughgood1191 that's the nonsense spin. There's nothing stopping them from gathering all the evidence except for corruption.
Tories sacked 20,000 police and 10,000 police backroom staff. And look at the damage to our areas through crime levels and catastrophes.
@@adrianthoroughgood1191 there is a reason why inquiries are stretched out. Its to let those in power OFF THE HOOK...
Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit goes on,,,Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, bought hundreds of luxury properties in London, Dubai, and New York, but declared none of them to tax authorities in Bangladesh. The former land minister gives a guided tour of his $14m London home; he owns 360 in the UK alone. Now authorities in Bangladesh have frozen his bank accounts and are investigating claims the former minister laundered millions of dollars into Britain. 😮😮
I live in one which the work was meant to start in Apil this year. The council claim that they forgot to ask building control.....like the scheme wasn't planned for years. It's ridiculous. Our windows and doors are broken, heaters broken...etc etc etc. They think we're idiots.
Yeah
@@LeahCassidy-tl1tn it does not helps
All the building companies that built these high rises, why haven't they been named and shamed and being held accountable??
The manufacturers lied and said the stuff was OK to use. They are more at fault than the builders.
Blame the architects. Building companies generally only build what's already designed.
@@scottd1879 the manufacturers of the materials said they passed fire safety tests. Also in most cases cladding was added later to improve insulation for the building. It was not part of the original design or construction.
What a sea of incompetence in this UK !
Shame this. Wasn’t covered in such depth when the last government were in power for 14 years.
Whats the point in even worrying about this when you have no control on E bike batteries and the fact they are being charged and stored in flats and bedrooms ? Its like banning knives and handing out Uzi,s 😂 lol
Who ever let this happen should be sent to prison for life, the greedy bastards
haha - not with out governments. They are still scratching their heads with the Postoffice scandal..!
They will get a key to the city.
No justice
We have lawyers. But none of them are prepared, despite their ridiculous wealth to take a month off and prosecute these people for free. Step up lawyers. You wont even need the pension schemes that are invested in the likes of these companies. Step up and give us a better opinion of you. It would take about Ten of you to sort this out. That none of you have tried says it all.
Whoever got paid to put it up, pays to take it down.. simples.... oh wait... rich people
When you let the intern upload the VT…
Crazy how they hide behind cladding
How did the fire start nearer the mark
If you live in cladding buildings. Run
There is nowhere to run to.
@@AbigailBrown-wk7xl if a single person in your tower block has an E bike they charge in their over priced bedroom or bedsit
Unfortunately Construction Companies are not overseen as they were 20 years ago.
The Ckerk of Works are not employed separately, now we have Private Building Overseeing construction companies
Some are good, but there are some where envelopes are exchanged
The Clerk of Works were in their own fields aware of short cuts material usage etc
Until there are fully independent professional people Overseeing projects, this will happen again and again.
Valued at £0 until the works are complete...
Justice System Needs Reform ASAP....This should never be Aloud, a Ticking Time Bomb /sigh
You mean the building safety regulations, not justice.
@@adrianthoroughgood1191 if the Justice system worked they would not even try to get away with this type, of unsafe Building practice /JAIL
50% not even started but the former LFB Chief Officer Dany Cotton was forced to stand down
Like what tf do we pay tax for someone fxxxxx tell me 😡😡
Thankful for a home
Trousers at half mast is a nice touch.
Absolute disgrace. Who profited from these unsafe material, spit out the profit and pay for all the works. Even if these companies have to go bankrupt.
better yet, send them to jail.
@@Pablo-ash that comes after long years of court cases. Appeal after appeal. So can’t wait that long.
Flats near me in dagenham wen up couple of weeks ago
Make cladding illegal ?
Ever heard the old saw let buyer beware Rachel?
Look at my socks
i blame starmer hes got free cladding, liebour 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
what? This is been going on for years
leasehold
For this all-important never-ending story we now go to our intrepid reporter Mr Grenfelly McWindrush
With so many clad blocks what precautions are the 100000 blocks dong that Grenfell failed to do?
When your at the bottom of the housing ladder, public housing you take what you can get. Be thankfull you have a pig pen to live in.
They shouldn't have bought unsafe flats the idiots.
When they bought it, this problem*DIDN'T EXIST*.
If this was council and full of immigrants they wouldn’t have to pay a penny and be housed while doing it just saying
No grenfell was full of immigrants
