Can't wait for the 5-hour long special of explaining Shadowman's awful A.I. pattern.
It's very simple though:
He makes 3 jumps, each having a 1/3 chance of either being low, medium or high
After that, it's a 50/50 if he chooses to slide or throw blades.
He also starts the fight jumping only twice, because some variables are loaded in incorrectly
That's it.
@@Red_Biker_Dude Okay then, how hard is it in your opinion to beat him no hit, buster only?
@@starman6417 very hard, one of the few classic bosses that I didn't do no damage buster only
@@starman6417 Difficulty /=/ AI complexity. Shadow Man is hard because of the extremely tight reaction times you must follow, even if his AI is easy to follow
@@Red_Biker_Dude also his gravity is increased
Usually, whenever against Charge Man, I typically use the inputs -> Jump -> Run left -> Get hit -> Power button.
>Wave Man's water sprouts never spawn below you
I'VE BEEN GASLIGHTING MYSELF, MOTHER FRICK-
"Wake up babe new Woodfrog video just dropped"
Another Robot Master AI fully explained? Sweet!
Wait...there's more of these!? I need to watch them all! This was amazing!
Hay. 🎩',B)⚔️👌✨
You can actually skip the first use of Power Stone and the first 4-bullet Crystal Eye if you can get into the shorter ranges of them before the bosses actually spawn. This can be done either by jumping just as you enter the boss gate and using a support item to traverse the distance, or doing a frame-perfect slide from the ground after the boss gate closes and doing a full jump before the slide ends and you lose control of Mega Man.
Great video! I intuited a lot of this from doing speedruns for so long, but I didn't know the numbers, and a lot of little things like Crystal Man queuing up 3 short hops at a time I had no idea about. This is a great resource.
I remember hearing about just how elaborate Gravity Man's pattern actually is but I never noticed how it's just a really long movement loop. I guess the firing just made it less obvious with its timing just so happen to lining up in a 2/3 cycle.
Really appreciate you listing down the specific chances for which these attacks can actually occur, as well as the values of those attacks like the differences in Wave Man's steam offset! I always thought it was just a random distance from the player.
Man it's so good to finally have someone take a definitive crack at Charge Man, that dude's been so tricky to figure out for me. I do have to note though, are the coal shots completely random, or do they come out pre-determined areas?
There are 8 possible configurations for them, each time one is randomly chosen.
Good to know!
Instructions unclear, I can’t jump over him at all

That was a very amazing pattern analysis vid!
I think it would be cool to add a mode to _The Sequel Wars_ where the "distance rulers" and some variables (like Napalm Man's missile count) are displayed so we can learn the bosses' patterns better and practice strategies.
Oh man now I feel like an idiot for struggling against Wave Man so much in the past. I could've easily not moved while he did his water sprouts and it would've made the whole thing easier.
This is so cool. Hope to see more of these boss AI analysis vids. Congrats!
This is actually amazing, thanks for all the detail!
I was hoping you'd do this one! Mega Man 5 is great! Can't wait for the Sequel Wars version!
Oh, hey, looks like this will be great for a certain Mr. Perfect runner
Surely this means he’s working on Sequel Wars Episode Blues (That’s my prediction on what the MM5 demo will be named bc y’know, Proto Man is called Blues in Japan and the MM4 demo was called “Episode Red”)
The best bit is Crystal Man. Always wondered him never using the starting Crystal Ball as every fight i stuck close like Stoneman. It doesnt punish you when the solution is moving slightly per hop, so few hops and IF he has the distance, he does shoot a C. Ball again
Can't wait for the mega man 5 remake
I just realized that Star Man is easiest if you're in his "orbit."
Its been a while since the last analysis!
acho muito interessante, esse estudo das ai de chefes de Megaman.
This is so cool
Another video like this please 😊
A lo mejor está trabajando los robots masters para el proyecto de juego para el próximo remake
will mega man the sequel wars be released in its entirety from 4 to 6
vc pode me explica porque eu não estou conseguindo baixa o mega Man 4 de mega drive?
Neat video, upboated
are you using FCEUX Lua scripts as a visualizer??
Mesen, but yes I use lua scripts for that, they really come in handy
@@woodfrog9614 I've seen you delete your YM2612 remix of Napalm Man video. Something tells me, your old Napalm Man song from the 2020 demo will be the modern arrangement. The classic arrangement of Napalm Man will be Napalm Man Stage - Mega Man: The Power Battle transposed to the key of A. That's what I predict for The Sequel Wars anyway.
Did somebody say handy?
Man I hate Charge Man. His pattern is okay, but the time frame to avoid his hitbox so small when he walks. Even in the video, with knowing what he mostly does, you got hit several times.
Hello Wood Frog, I want to ask how the development of Mega Man 5 of the sequel wars is going, I say, well it's been a year and there's still no news or is it for certain reasons?
It's going fine. I saw a post on Twitter and it's still going.
@@GardevoirBoy, Is there a long time until the blue episode? I mean, it's been almost a year, I'm excited that if Megaman the sequel wars continues
@@reykharymflorescruz7459 It will be a while until Episode Blue is released. The Sequel Wars will continue. You will have to be patient.
@@reykharymflorescruz7459 It will be a long time before Episode Blue comes out.
Yes finally mega man 5 but when I make a remix of a song from mm5 can you put it in?
Woodfrog, I'm sorry you had to report me for spamming. I meant well trying to help you with ideas for the 16-bit version of Mega Man 5 and I'm sorry you took it the wrong way. Anyways, thanks for giving people an explanation of the AI bosses in Mega Man 5.
btw happy pride month
