I saw him at a bank in Minnesota and he was doing a commercial. He kept messing it up over and over for the four of five minutes i was there. I talked to some woman that was working with him she was super hyped talking to me about it and i asked if he was going to the UFC and she said no he planned on doing pro wrestling. Between takes as i was leaving i said loudly hey, UFC next? He was smiling but didn't say anything
Gable could be a problem at HW its such a weak division and hes still like 15 years younger than the average UFC HW

Maybe LFA, but I could see he doing 2 fights on the Contender Series (like Bo Nickal) & (if he wins) getting signed & brought along slowly in 2025 in the UFC and set up for a big run in 2026.
Otherwise, I can see the PFL throwing everything at him to mold him as their next big thing like they did Kayla & doing 2 fights before 2025.
It's that or an the NFL preseason come August.
Man, that's rough. I'm far removed from the amateur wrestling scene, but I'm glad Chael Sonnen is showing support. Sometimes something as simple as bad timing can have harsh consequences. Ouch.

the ncaa champtionships are every year and every year 10 guys come out on top but not very many of them ever go into MMA. it would be interesting to see steveson compete but he had opportunities to do it already and chose something else. mma doesn't seem like the sort of job you do when all your other plans fall through. maybe it is. when your trying to hire a guy to build your house and one guy tells you it's all he's ever wanted to do and the other guy tells you he'd prefer to be fixing cars, who you gonna hire?
With the BS heavyweights we have now. He could be in top 5 in a year of MMA training. This kid has all the potential.
The first time I saw him was in studio Ariel helwani interview. I pictured him as a k urt angle, Sheldon bengermin type in wwE.
I have sense been schooled that he is the Brock lesner type.
Man nobody in the mma space is going to be honest about why gable has made the moves he did he got popped for assaulting a girl in 2019 with a friend in most other states other than Minnesota he wouldve went down for it but due to laws and the fact that the victim was above a certain spcohol threshold it would make it hard to pursue charges against him, he paid her off to stay quiet about it after the fact to keep the noise down, TKO isn't going to run the risk of signing him again unless he becomes undeniable as a fighter somewhere else first to offset the bad PR,WWE had him in the witness protection programming for years until 💩 hit the fan recently and they cut bait.

The baddest man on the planet, the man that has never lost a round. I want to name him Chael David Breck. Chael after the future UFC Hall of Famer and David after my best friend that had passed away in a helicopter crash last March in Fort Campbell, KY.

Gable has made such poor decisions. He went to the WWE with no motivation because he wanted Dana to sign him off his 0-0 record. He should have done what Bo Nickal did.

theres a chance that he gets popular in wwe like lesnar/punk and then uses that to crossover to pfl/ufc. the whole "fake fighter beats up real fighters" gimmick would sell like hot cakes. it didnt work out though since he failed to build the charisma to be likeable with fans. but it was a good idea.
Not to mention got booed out the building his first WWE match.

He had a televised match against baron corbin that was the complete shits and got him go away heat. His promo skills didn’t help either. His brother is doing alright in nxt. But he did just get storyline kidnapped by the mafia faction so his time may be up as well
If someone they saw so much in gets released in developmental, that points either to an attitude problem or a lack of in-ring talent/progress. I'm betting it's both.
In my opinion natural athleticism would translate in you being able to (train) to be a prowrestler.
But you also have to factor in showmanship. Prowrestling is not like gymnastics were you sit on your hands then clap once you see the performance.
Prowrestling is very interactive. It's very much creating a strong emotional response from a crowd. It's important for you to have a distinct character ,heel or face.
@@kev30631 Pretty much. While being a super athlete helps you learn or do the moves, there's no guarantee you'll be able to sell, learn psychology, cut promos, etc. Lots of intangibles that go into it.

Saw a clip of him in wwe. Don't know what he or the wwe were thinking making him wear that bright red wide strap singlet for his outfit. Looked so out of place and cheap like a teletubby. That alone would make me boo if I watched wwe. It looks good with the big USA and the stripes in the olympics but the flat red just looked GOOFY to me. 😂

I am a wrestling fan. Not WWE, but real Folkstyle mainly, but having chance to be a 2 time gold medalist and do something no American has done and opportunity to be a 3 time gold medalist and he chose WWE????

People might not know this, but the most competitive weights in pretty much all wrestling the lower weights are way more technical.

Gable had zero charisma. WWE tried to build him up but he was just terrible, it's just not his thing. so keeping him didn't make sense, probably he was the one asking for the release.

I don't know about Gable, but some wrestlers can, some get get punched in the face or choked.and they don't like and can't handle it. Some strikers can do mma and some can't. Some of them don't want to deal with grappling and subs. It depends on each individual. Well see if Gable gives it mma a shot or not

2023 was his bonus Covid year. He had to use it in 2023 or 2024 or lose it forever. There is a time limit (for all athletes) to use their eligibility or lose it...... unless they are on a mission trip or called off to war.
