    Great analysis on Hamazura, he's quite the underdog and one of the best at that. His relationship with Takitsubo is great even if she is a Level 4, it doesn't matter to him, he values her life and he wants keep her safe. He fully understands Takitsubo, they're kinda in the same situation by being looked down on by Mugino, she only sees them as a tool. She abused Takitsubo's ability to give herself an advantage in combat, but Hamazura doesn't wanted to see Takitsubo's suffering anymore so he had to confront Mugino.
    Hamazura defeated her many times to show everyone that being a higher Level doesn't mean you always win and that a mere Level 0 like him or Touma can do anything by risking their own lives to save someone or the world.
    Hamazura is such a good and very underrated character in the Toaru series!

    I don't believe in Shiage Luck, but I do believe in Level 0 luck which Hamazura happens to have. This applies not just to Hamazura, mind you, but also Touma Kamijou, Ruiko Saten, and others. The details behind how the luck works and whether it is good, bad, or neutral varies from one to another, but I do believe that luck is a strong recurring theme in each of these characters just as it is in the franchise as a whole. In fact, I would argue that luck itself exists as a power system separate from either magic or science in the series and applies to certain characters to be explored just as much albeit with a bit more subtlety.

    I personally want to think that Hamazura spared Mugino in ww3, because they were in awfully similar situations. Where the higher ups of Academy City wanted them to kill each other. It ties back to his character arc in Battle Royal where he not only values his life as a level 0 again after being saved by Takitsubo, but also trying to save a level 4 esper himself, saving ppl in need like how Komaba and Touma did.
    Mugino in ww3 there was as much of a tool from ppl who make the rules as Takitsubo and Hamazura were back in Battle Royal. So he protected the person in need here while still multiple times thinking of shooting her, Hamazura chose to value the life that Noone else found value in more than being a tool, an ITEM. It's quite the irony that he started to protect a level 5. It gets to show that the level isn't something that values your life, but you as a person as a whole. This especially hit me when they flashed back to Mugino in OT19, asking Hamazura how she became a monster like this.
    Not some level system that should make one look down on each other, but the ppl who shit on human rights and are at fault of making these ppl become like this.
    (what I'm trying to say is that the anime should have put more emphasis on the elevator and oven scene of OT15)

      I still think it was a bad decision fromt JC Stuff that they cut the scene where he had to dump the corpse of a girl in the incinerator during the start of the Battle Royal arc. That was imho the most important Hamazura scene during OT. To sum it up I'm also a great Shiage fan and enjoy all the content with him in the novels. Kamachi manages imho to stabelize all three protagonists at around the same level. And their interactions are interesting whenever they cross paths.

    As a kid I always despised main characters in TV shows. Similar to how Garou does in OPM except I sympathized with the side characters instead of the villains. I hated the relevancey gap between them and the main characters rarely felt relatable. There was always some silent rule that nobody could be stronger than the main characters outside of villains and mentor characters. Not only was this was one of the few shows that I loved the main character, but Shiage even as a concept would have made me go nuts.

    Most anime/movie watcher didnt understand how real world fights works, so they think cool action meaning great character skill while smart real world tactics is plot armor.
    In reality, its means opposite. Cool loking action heroes has more plot armor than Hamazura .

      He gets lucky because she is an arrogant bitch. This isn't to take away from him being a good character but lets not make excuses for his lacking ability. Mugino likely dealt with people using "real world tactics" before as she is well acclimated to Academy City's dark side, so, Hamazura really shouldn't be all that different. He really does get lucky. If she were to ever come out of herself she could deal with him easily. The most compelling part of Hamazura is his personality and interpersonal relationships, not his combat ability.

    Others may laugh at your mispronounciation of Takitsubo, but I imagined Hamazura and Takitsubo having a child and playing with him/her, saying "Takitsu-boo" instead of "peakaboo". And honestly it's adorable, you made my day.

    Comparing doesn't action movie protagonist and hamazura doesn't really make much sense cosidering people could still hate both for them for the same reason, or hate hamazura for the plethora of traits he has that those characters don't or vice versa.

    • @AeonofHorus
      @AeonofHorus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Again your missing the point. I'm not saying its impossible to criticise both, I'm saying Shiage gets way more criticism for plot armour than modern action heroes (in proportion with how many people cosume the media, cos obviously action flicks are more popular than this series). I never see people criticise action hero plot armour the same way as Hamazura gets it. And its fine to compare them as thats what Hamazura was based on if you actually read Kamachi's interviews. For someone who criticised me for making 'big assumptions' you sure like to make big assumptions yourself when it comes to interpretting my points.

    • @fightingmedialounge519
      @fightingmedialounge519 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AeonofHorus no, your just not paying attention. I explicitly said that you can find people who have similar criticisms concerning hamazura and action movie heros, and even if I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed you did proper reaserch into the subject, none of the matters. His character and there characters are diffrent enough in execution that someone could overlook or not notice the flaws for the latter like they do the former.
      So while you have time to look up interviews, you should look up the definition of the words assumption and interpretation since I never once commented about why you made that comparison, nordid I ever reference what you said in a way you way that was different from the video. What I did was point out that the comparison was a bad idea since it was based on dubious data when you take into account how many videos exist making fun of the absurdity of action heros, ignored the fact that people won't have the same reactions to different characters for various reasons, and ultimately just confuses fact for feeling when it comes to yourself and the detractors you brought up. An action I have low tolerance for. Side note: using the interview as a gotta moment is again an assumption based on little information.

    • @AeonofHorus
      @AeonofHorus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@fightingmedialounge519 @Kye Dysarthria Lol re-read your first comment, you never said you can find people like that, you're tripping.
      Bruh this is an analysis video, of course I'm going to use my own interpretations of the character. It is impossible not to make assumptions on this topic as it is my own opinion and from my own experiences. Oh? You're assuming yourself there are a lot of videos mocking action hero stereotypes. Show me the data, you're making assumptions. Bruh I don't believe people can't have a different reaction stop making assumptions. I didn't ignore it, its really just not worth mentioning in a video since it is logically obvious, but I suppose that would be another assumption to suggest that wouldn't it? There is no way to prove facts when it comes to film criticism, or character criticism. Sure you can say the character did xyz in a scene, but that is nothing more than rehashing the scene. That's where subjective interpretation and analysis comes in to actually give my own take on what occurred as that gives it meaning. Art is subjective in the eyes of the audience. The fact that I even need to explain this to you baffles me. I will waste no more time on you as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. If you want facts and figures just read the series again.
