As an artist, I adore how creative panneling gets in this comic, how Stjepan uses panels as metaphores for what is happening in character heads! Like... The panel where Joker holds Harleen on gunpoint and her whole life flashes before her eyes as type of crazy backstory summary. This is pure genius!
Really enjoyed this comic. With the original Mad Love story being an episode of TV, this felt like a plot line across a season of a Batman TV series. With most modern Harley Quinn stuff not really being for me, this story was tragically twisted in the best way possible and is a great example of how to properly handle her character.
Personally I would like comic with scarecrow and Harley, since some versions of Crane have psychologist background. Alternativly Crane and Hugo Strange or Hugo and Harley. I mean, Hugo Strange is obsesed with Batman while Harley has obsession with Joker, so there should be some interesting things done with this idea.
As someone who hates Deadpool with a passion, I really liked Harleen because it remembered who Harley is as a character-what Paul Dini intended for her.
I would love to hear Mr.Rogues talk about the One Bad Day comics that have been published by DC. Especially the Riddler one since it's without a doubt the worst Riddler story ever created. Seems Tom King saw Mr.Rogues' video about Riddler's worst stories and was disappointed with his ranking: "Only second place? I can surely do better"
Agreed. I remember thinking the Two-Face one was pretty disappointing either and a simple twist could’ve made the story better for me (although I can’t remember what twist I had thought about). Out of the “One bad Day” stories I’ve read, Clayface was the only one I really liked.
I do not like Tom King's Riddler. He writes him as this slick uber genius who's always 10 steps ahead. It feels like that version is how Nygma imagines he is and not a neurotic mess.
@@wdcain1 i agree but maybe the thing that i hate the most from King's depiction of the Riddler is the riddles' treatment. He always portrays the riddles as some sort of nuisance that Riddler can avoid to use if he just wishes to do so. Nygma's riddles are supposed to be a compulsion not a superficial gimmick that can be removed on a whim. King's Riddler seems more of a less insane and more clever version of the Joker than anything else
Hohoho, back when this one was coming out I remember badgering you about covering it, since the story had a pretty cool Harvey Dent/Two-Face xD (arguably the main antagonist). Let's go, 12 min of Roguish DC goodness, I'm so glad you're back; bro. Cheers from France!
This is one of my favorite comics ever made. I was so upset the author didn't make sequels he talked about with Catwoman, Ivy and a final with the Gotham City Sirens.
This comic is pretty good. I’ll never forget the scene of Harley and Harvey having a battle of noble ideals then as the convo ends, Harley comments in a narration box that in few months time they would both be supervillains. Really sells how corrupting Gotham is
When this comic first came out, I was sooo ready to hate it because Harley had been crammed down my throat for what felt like an eternity. But it was surprisingly interesting and enjoyable. I missed seeing the doctor side of her and was glad that we got so much time devoted to that side of her.
I think most of the issues with Harley Quinn in modern DC is that whoever is writing her really don't know what to do with her when they're trying to separate her from The Joker. The Suicide Squad version of her which fellow up by how she appears and behave in the Birds of Prey movie seem to have only worsen that when theses people working at DC are clearly getting their inspiring for how Harley appears, looks and act in modern stories from her live-action appearance.
People say this a lot but I don't think we realise harley has not been with joker in most of her appearances yes even pre new 52. Its not that writers struggle with separating her from joker when she's been separated from him for most of her history including the batman animated series. The amount of episodes where harley is a solo act or with ivy is close to the amount of when she's jokers sidekick
Joker Deux coming out soon?!? Oh, you'll be posting new vids! A sequel to a text book example of a stand alone, one and done film? Lady Gaga as Harley? That schnoz? Will Phoenix reference the earlier Batman movies, or the T.V. SHOW?!? You'll be vack!

Hope we get to hear Rogues' opinions on Jonker 2 when it releases

Yeah i hate the deadpool version of Harley. I like the original Batman Animated Series and darker takes of Harley.
I prefer the classic Harley
@@tayojones9460 me too.
I hate Harley Quinn Because she is paedophile to Shazam, batgirl, and Nightwing
Agree
What the hell does deadpool harley even mean. Doing jokes? You people are dumb

And in some takes, Harley works under Hugo Strange. Maybe he could have some role in her becoming Harley Quinn?
I hope you still have the desire to make new videos again even if it’s only a few per year. I love your channel.
Same

Such a shame we'll never get the two sequels Stjepan planned. He tweeted that the pay he got from DC was peanuts compared to the Indy scene.

Harley is the most broken character in DC. But its nice to hear this story is surprisingly good.

new best Harley comic??
Thanks for releasing patreon content, even if you’re not coming back.
Good to know. I was very curious about this one.
I’ll be sure to add to the list of future readings.
One of my favorite Harley stories.
I remember reading this comic while back and I quite enjoyed it.
I got a hardback copy when this book came out and honestly I feel inlove with it
And I absolutely love the cover
I honestly want to get one and read it.

The name Harleen sounds like an old country song.
You're thinking of Joleen.
@@hope-cat4894 I realized that after I commented. :)
She was named after her VA/inspiration, Arleen Sorkin.
Will you cover batman: venom one day? that’s a great comic.
Mr Rogues! I really hope you come back to review the Penguin tv show!
@@rodrigomarcondes5857 I will 👍
Ooh, this sounds interesting! It sounds like it’s trying to have more literary thought put into it. Very cool
Best Harley Comic
This was weird little comic. Mixed bag, but I enjoyed doing the comic dub with Mike the Editor back in the day (who could I have possibly voiced… 😂)!

Please do a video on Nemesis, the best evil Batman in comics.

Have you watched the new joker movies.
Speaking of which, how come no one shipped Harley Quinn and Two-Face in the comics or other versions ?
