There is one universe where Vasco is the only one left of constellation but it was no fun, can't get him as a companion or crew. You can't quicksave or use inventory either. I had to get creative to weaponize myself or heal using the storage box to equip, can't remember how I did it. I seemed to be less vulnerable though. I got all the way to the end but got killed in the final battle. It was a very lonely universe. After I died, it just started a new universe in a normal setting.

My theory is that The Serpent is also a Starborn but one that has been doing this for far far longer than any of the other Starborn we meet and has come to the point where they seek to destroy the unity and the multiverse with only a select people being brought to, or resurrected on, a recreated singular universe where there is no unity or starborn

Starborn, I consider them the ancient humanity that evolved beyond normality. Imagine the pre flood humanity left the planet and settled elsewhere and continued to evolve as we see them today. Skills and abilities that appear to be magic but everything we cannot understand appears to be just that. I envision they could have a cloaked planet that would exist in all realities but hidden to all those that are not NG+. Imagine NG+ quest given to the player to change the flow of specific realities! The NG+ could be held to a higher calling. Imagine if you would have missions to tweak realities to enhance or destroy a certain timeline. Of course, the player should gain the ability to customize both ships, weapons and healing components beyond what mere mortals are capable of.

I feel like the starborn that you come across at the temples and the relics are on the side of the emissary. At least some of them are because they have lines of dialogue that say "you're not worthy" and the only one who heavily personifies that is the emissary

    • @JB-xl2jc
      @JB-xl2jc 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

I think at least some are, as the Emissary repeatedly does say "we" in various dialogues. I doubt any are with the Hunter, as his philosophy doesn't really lend itself to teaming up all too often, player character excluded (although one question I have is why... there's no indication we see that multiple people can't go through the Unity, in fact we have proof that they can... why wouldn't the Emissary and Hunter just both go through? Not like the Emissary can un-Starborn the Hunter, so why the endless fighting and resistance?)
I guess that's actually one of the themes of the game, and proof that Starborn really aren't much better than humans. Just like the UC and Freestar Collective who manage to still fight over resources despite having practically infinite resources available, so too do the Starborn. How very... human of them.

Let me start off by saying that more than one person can become starborn in a universe. This is literally spelled out in the Emissary ending where it says that he/she stays behind in the old universe to guide worthy people to the unity. This is also heavily implied in the independent ending. However, I do believe that there are only twenty four artifacts per universe, so only one person can use them to enter the unity at a time unless they're riding on the same ship as the player character. What I imagine is that after a person goes through the unity, the artifacts are teleported by the unity either back to their original hiding places or into new hiding places. This act also recharges or reactivates the temples. Also on that note, I have an interesting theory about the temples. I believe they serve a similar function as the infinity stones in Marvel (basically holding reality together). However as each universe is unique, their "pillars" are located in different locations. The only difference is the final temple, which I theorize is actually the central hub or pillar upon which all reality connects and is supported, hence why this location never changes.

I love the pilgrim as that bodhisattva figure, I really wish we had more interactions with him. The in-game book, I believe called The Gravity Paradigm, mentions an Einstein-Rosen Bridge and it’s one of the first books you can find in the game. I felt like it was massive, massive foreshadowing because it basically made me aware of what the Unity would be before I ever heard the word Unity in-game. (I’ll admit, my knowledge on the Einstein-Rosen Bridge is relatively light and pop-culture influenced.)

There are too many alternate theories when dealing with E-R Bridge, but the one where a wormhole is a link to a set point in time & space (basically where you first touched an artifact & established the “fixed point in time & space”) would fall within one fairly common view, possibly with you being locked out of your point of origin as you should only be able to go to universes where that you chose not to join Constellation…but where are you, this gets insane for playthroughs where you have parents…”why did you act so crazy on our last call where we thanked you for your last visit, or are you going to claim you don’t recall the call?”

Something I've noticed in my playthroughs so far is that 99.9% of worlds with temples on them are hazardous wastelands. Very few worlds I've been to with temples have been habitable. Considering what we learn about Earth and how unlocking the secrets of grav jumping is what destroyed our atmosphere, it makes me wonder if these other worlds are all hazardous because they were the homeworlds of alien civilizations who destroyed their planets in the same way we destroyed ours.
I don't know if Bethesda has any plans for sapient extraterrestrial life-forms, but it would be interesting if we eventually discovered alien Starborn. Perhaps the last survivors of an extinct race or races who lost their homeworld, failed to rebuild out in the stars and now all that remain are Starborn who wander the multiverse looking for a universe where their people successfully colonized space and thrived. I mean there is no guarantee humanity will survive because it's not unified and all it takes is another intergalactic war to doom us all. I don't think it's impossible for other civilizations to have failed.
24:20 What if the Great Serpent is an alien Starborn? A member of a saurian species who has been travelling the multiverse for an unfathomable amount of time and is either influencing or being worshiped by humans. House Va'ruun weapons look like no other human weapon in the game and could be of extraterrestrial origin or at the very least built by humans, but modeled after non-human architecture. The particle beam emitted by Va'ruun weapons create similar distortions created by Starborn. There is a definite link between Va'ruun and the Starborn and I think it's logical to believe the Great Serpent is connected as well.

So I wonder if the Creators made the multiverse as a way of planning out all possible situations. So when you die, they just put you back to see how things play out this time. Maybe Starborn are escaping the “simulation” as it were, if you want it call it that.

My big questions about the Starborn relate to the tools and structures that define them. It seems like Starborn ships and armor are willed into existence in a way, manifesting around a multiverse traveler. Beyond that though, while Artifacts appear to predate and define the creation of Starborn the related structures of Temples and Anomalies seem almost reactionary.
Temples appear on planets with anomalies covering the surface yet even though several are located in inhabited systems, and some even have small human colonies next to them, the general population seems unaware of them. I’ve found anomalies with dead explorers next to them. I’ve seen temples that seem to have captured rocks and trees that suggest they are fairly new, so I suspect that similar to Starborn ships and armor they may have been recently manifested. Caelumite located in abundance around artifacts that produce a zero-G field, also is prevalent around anomalies on these worlds and could be a byproduct of a connection with the unity.
Then the question becomes if the temples and anomalies are relatively recent, what nexus event led to their manifestation? They had not been recorded previously, and neither had a prevalence of Starborn. One of the new game plus starts suggests that Starborn can be drawn to certain universes, which could relate to whatever this nexus event was. Could it have been the player finding and touching the artifact? Or a delayed response from Barrett doing so? I feel like we are missing out on something important as to why temples, anomalies, caelumite, and Starborn are suddenly appearing in this timeframe but not before.
Why not when Dr. Victor Aiza touched the Martian artifact several hundred years prior? And why did NASA not seem to have any record of caelumite when it has immense crafting potential in the game? Or what about House Va’ruun’s possible exposure to Unity related constructs? In the game, Caelumite is used for stealth related mods, so could provide further evidence for some sort of House Va’ruun connection as they are known for their stealth tech.
    So many questions.

I'm only about 12 minutes in, but I just had a thought/theory about what powers the ship you're given, why you can't take anything with you and why the ships blink out of existence when destroyed, but remain if the Starborn pilots are killed outside the ship:
The energy source that powers a Guardian ship IS THE PREVIOUS UNIVERSE(S).
This is also why they get more powerful every time, because the universes are stacking.
When you destroy a Guardian ship, instead of the "engine" exploding or something, it is utterly destroyed, blinked out of existence along with every universe the Starborn pilot inhabited up to that point, presumably returning to the Unity as raw energy to produce a new universe in the multiverse.
When a Starborn dies, they, too, appear to blink out of existence, but their ship stays. I think perhaps as long as the ship is intact, that specific Starborn can respawn, given some time, perhaps when the ship detects it is safe to do so. However, I suspect if the ship were destroyed, the Starborn would be taken with it, as the Starborn are bound to their previous universes.
Then again, this gets into temporal paradoxes, and I'm in the camp that killing your past self or grandparents would not make you disappear, because those events already happened the way they did for you to exist, and can never be revisited. So if you "went back in time," you're actually still in your own timeline, and all you're doing is visiting a different universe, not your literal past. After all, the timeline you experience is your timeline, no one else's. You exist, so the only way to make you not exist is to kill you in the part of your timeline that has not yet come to pass.
Think of it like this: Your timeline is a book. Page one is the beginning of life; your lineage in its entirety. Final page is when nobody is left to remember you existed. This book is already written, but there are similar books with alternate endings, but their beginnings are the same. Time travel is not flipping back the pages in your own book, but rather you looking at the early section of another book parallel to your own. You never really cross into that book, because everything you do in that book is a page in the first book, always flipping the pages forwards. You think you're going back in time, but you are actually still progressing through your timeline, which happens to share aspects of the parallel timeline. No matter what happens, the pages ahead are your timeline drawing ever closer to that final page. So if you say you're gonna go kill your past self, future you is killing a parallel past you. The pages behind you are untouched by your "time travel." It is the multiverse's way to self-correct such a paradox. The only way to kill yourself is to get present you killed. Nothing else can kill you. Nobody can travel back in time and kill you, because those events are not your past, and never can be your past.
Anyway, that's my theory on time travel, and suicide by paradox, which does throw a wrench into my Starborn theory. HOWEVER, Bethesda seems to be the kind of people who'd be in the Back to the Future camp, that time travel does affect your own history (absurd, I know), so you have to consider that when theorizing what Bethesda's writers have in mind for the Starborn. If we use Back to the Future logic, then yeah, destroying a Starborn ship, if powered by your previous universes, would essentially destroy ALL matter that came from that series of universes, or at least blink it out of the currently occupied universe, and, as i theorized, return that matter to the Unity, which I think is supposed to be the alpha and omega of all universes. It is where a universe goes to die so it may be reborn.

You seem like the only Starfield content creator who may really appreciate this; I had a mind blowing experience outside of this new Bethesda masterpiece yet directly connected to it as it came first from our reality and thus inspiring Starfield’s awesome main theme! I stopped the video at 32:59 to text this so lest you mention it afterwards you should be fascinated! Well here goes; after gaming for hours in the Starfield a few if not several months back I went and took a nap, but before hand decided to watch a video on the emerald tablets of Thoth! Over the years I’ve watched and heard of tales and different versions of these so called lost Egyptian tablets and they’re interesting but I never really got anything out of them more than just a cool story! I fell asleep watching the video, and I will now and probably forever question my own reality as to how in the world did I wake up abruptly to my alarm for prayer, before getting up decide to peek at where I left off in the video and play it right at the moment it said(in paraphrase)”and those of the Starborn Races”…? Thus letting me know that Bethesda got their idea of the Starborn from what some people used to call the Egyptian god of Wisdom! There’s no possible way this could have been some coincidence that I see, as I’ve watched that specific video before and different versions over the years and never really thought of much about it; I had no conscious idea about the “Starborn” before Starfield and still would never have tied it Emerald Tablets of Thoth because it never stood out to me before so I consciously had no idea the tablets talked about the “Starborn Races” and most forever shocking to me is how is it possible that I woke up and put the video on in the absolutely precise moment it talked of the Starborn Races? There are no coincidences in life, everything is perfectly designed according to our Creator’s Will as described to us by Him. La ilaha Illallah. 😳🫢🤩/👌✌️🤲☝️🤔

The emissary: it is not fair to the people of this universe that starborn are influencing and changing them without getting a say, it is a responsibility to be a starborn not a privilege for your own satisfaction. Only people who have taken care to sculpt themselves into selfless, empathic beings should enter the unity because if we starborn are going to influence these people without their consent, we should at least leave them better off than we found them.
The hunter: There are so many universes, and i have seen only a small number compared against the whole. I have seen bloodshed, virtue, utopia, and apocalypse. This multiverse is one we do not understand, but there is one truth that permeates all reality I have perceived: Strength. Strength will establish order, or sow destruction. Strength will allow one to withstand hardship or permit one to sculpt the world. The unity is not ours to claim ownership of, but we will claim ownership. Therefore among all those who aspire to glimpse eternity it is who is strongest who will enter the next universe. As they pass to another reality, they will leave behind a stronger universe. Perhaps this stronger reality will bend the unity to their will, and expand humanity's horizons beyond this universe.
My character: shit i dont have enough credits to pay off this bounty. Whatever, i wont have a bounty in the next universe. (The aftermath is that everyone starts getting parking tickets)

What I don't like about this setup is that the lore pretends like the unity is the answer to the infinite regression behind the 'epistemic wall'. my crack theory is that the unity is actually a countermeasure to keep the few people capable of achieving that level of power stuck in an endless loop across the multiverse constantly seeking that high over and over until they get themselves killed or give up. we've seen Starborn versions of several characters and yet we have not seen a single member of the actual race who created the unity still running around the multiverse. Surely the infinite nature of the multiverse would mean we would've seen at least ONE starborn creator by now.

If you kill Cora Coe in that alternate universe, she doesn't disintegrate into dust interestingly enough. Everyone I talked to said it was so that you could grab the artifacts from her corpse, but there has been plenty of times artifacts were just forced into our inventory so that explanation while maybe correct, just doesn't sit right with me. Not to mention her starborn suit is not one of the variations that the player can obtain.

Only in plains where multiple constellation members die in an incident could multiple members meet that knew each other directly. That would be a great introduction to number 2. Your character meets you and describes how he orchestrated an accident in which constellation blows up an all members die. Now they can jump and choose which previous games they played they can revisit for brining the incident to it. Just an idea.

Do the artifacts reset like the dragon balls after you enter the unity? If you kill both the hunter and emissary The entity that "guards" the unity will say that now this universe's ppl are free to find the unity, yet you need the artifacts to reach it. The starborn act as if there is only one time to reach the unity so its confusing.

Wait, if multiple people can enter the Unity at once, why don’t the Emissary and Hunter just stop fighting, consolidate their artifacts, then jump together?

Because a piece of you/your "soul" that gets left behind assumingly dominates the nature of the universe being left behind so to have two opposites enter the Unity would mean no one "soul" completely wins and I would also speculate since entering through the Unity keeps enhancing your abilities as Starborn, neither the Hunter or Emissary wants to give the other one that boost. But because of the nature of an infinitude of universes and scenarios, your suggestion has probably happened already.

I wish you could customize your starborn ship.

I think they’re tricked into locking themselves into a multiversal time loop in order to allow certain events to pass as they are “meant to” that’s why they always enter a universe at a particular set place and time, also why they’ve played a role in larger events in history like the discovery of the grab drives. The entity you encounter in the unity says it was simply made by “the creators” and the unity is “the place where the stars themselves are written” or whatever lol

Once we kill the hunter, he just pops back into the next universe and starts looking for artifacts again, you even have dialogue options where you refer to the new game plus main quest as a repeating loop

Wait, how do you know the pilgrim is Keeper Aquilus. Is it the Starborn Keeper Aquilus? If so, why does it talk about how good it is to help people in the journals?

I chose to side with neither the Emissary or the Hunter.
Both are right. Both are wrong. Both hold the ingredients for truth.
The path of truth bisects them both, but neither walk that path.
It is you whom must cast them both aside, and walk the path of truth.

    They don’t seem that powerful.
*they all die the same way when I get to them* 😈

Wonder if starboard are immortal since they make it seem like they've lived for a long time also what happens to their body's when they die or maby their just returned to the unity and then sent out again.

Although I find the dialogue cringey, I’m a huge fan of the villainous Starborn. Their voice, power, alien-like persona, high end tech, and mystery are very attractive elements.

I wonder if starborn sort of "reform" in the unity and thus go to a different universe or something.

I'm passed the unity 3 times and every time are the same thing, nothing changes. This is a non sense for a multiverse.

They are so powerful, they cause my PC to shut down until the last update, guess they nurffed them.

I’m gonna have to watch this one a few times more. It got kinda wordy and philosophically heavy.

So...the players starborn name is The Stranger"? Are these names also part of the games you can find in Starfield? Would be quite funny, as you can play games over and over as well...
