This may be the greatest performance I have ever seen. Never thought I'd say that if it didn't have Jay-Z in it. But this was Hip Hop, this was Jazz, this was R&B, it was Funk, it was Blues, it was Classical, it was Rock N Roll, it was an amalgam of great artistry.
Damn you don't see this in today's hip hop. Most hip hop artists get up do their songs and get paid. But if they did this shit at one of their concerts !!WINNING!!
ahhhhh...y'all know why we used to enjoy the radio, and music?it's because you knew the artists were LOVING the words they were spittin out and having a blast doing it and we wanted to enjoy life just the same...maybe in 2011 we'll see it again...
Luisa Mongoy Lolll it’s not a skit, its from his Classic Multi Platinum selling album DoggyStyle 1993. 1 of 100 Best Selling Rap Albums. 🤦🏾♀️smh, youngsters.
You talking about the guy in the white jacket or the R&B artist Tank that also sings for Jamie when he aint doing his own thing??? He got up there and became the leader right away of the background vocals.
old school all day. history baby. classic. Snoop and Dougie Fresh. new school pay attention. look beyond the samples. discover the true origins of words and music. dig it. that's peace. later.
it is totally relevant the point is human beatboxers were replaced by machines to do it for them. Dougie's skills were spectacular enough he didn't need to evolve because no one can do what he does or close to it. He has no competition thus no need for evolution
I hope you new school hip hop fans know that was snoop was reciting Slick Rick part of the song. There will never be true rappers who rock the mike without cursing, dissing woman and using the N word. RunDMC, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Doggie Fresh, Eric B and Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, Kurtis Blow, Queen latifah, Mc Lyte, Roxxane Shante, Salt and Peppa, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Suga HIll Gang. Public Enemy, Heavy D and the Boys, Mc Shan, Big Daddy Kane (
Dougie and Snoop did a lot of sampling themselves this song that just did was slick rick and doug e fresh but snoop remade it and doug's song "the show" sampled inspector gadget and another hit he had was "play this only at night" and it sampled the theme from that movie Phantasm so sampling has and always will be a staple in hip-hop...now lets go make some good music
i feel what you are saying, and i've been down with Doug E Fresh, since the late 80's. he's always be classic and he's no less talented than he was then, my point it that it would have been cool if he followed the model of LL and KRS-One. they stayed true to themselves, while evolving the art form. i have to say, this debate is alot more respectful and constructive than most of the debates that you see on here.
I think you misunderstand me. Playing hit the road jack staccato with chords in the first position is something any child can learn in five minutes. But playing Ray songs like Foxx learned to do is something you just can't do without being a decently skilled pianist. And being that, you have no use at looking at the piano. I never said that you couldn't look at the piano if you were playing ray songs, I mean that when you could play them like he did, you wouldn't have to.
it sure is when i was born. and, as much as i agree the donald, on the bringing back memories, Dougie could have evolved his beatbox, and then take it back to the old school. ya gotta stay relevant.
it is obvious you have your opinion and i have mine because even in listening to them you can still here elements of Dougie, i bet Doug was probably one of their major influences. my whole point is Doug was first....the first doesn't have to evolve people who are inspired by them will do it for them. but its all good
touche i pride myself on respectful conversation lol but i can digg wat your saying but LL may not be the best example although he evolved he never made quite as much money or was as popular when he first came out. And i know many a person who rather here I need love than headsprung or headstrong whichever one it was and the same with KRS-One they influenced many but they themselves still remain classic.....well throw back in my category
It’s 2019 and this still bangs. I am loving every bit of this performance. 🥰
When something is Classic it is Timeless
2021 and it’s still banging ♥️
