Thank you for this. I just bought a Axe fx 2 and was having a hard time adding new blocks. Had no idea you started off with videos like this. Truly amazing how far your Chanel has grown
I feel like I'm in some weird bizarro world. I was looking for an axe fx tutorial and end up with a Dave video from a decade ago...the algorithm's getting weirder.
I wasn't familiar with the fact that he has an Axe FX, so when I first saw his review of it, I was really surprised too! Have to say, this series is quite comprehensive. BTW if you look carefully, you can still catch a glimpse of the Axe FX in his current videos, especially during his Dave-O segments.
Still love your videos Dave, but not really sure if I like the sounds that the Axe FX is producing. I had a line 6 pod at home that a friend gave me which, although not having as much versatility, I seem to be able to get better crisp overdriven sounds. Would really like to hear some none 'muddy' tones out of this bad boy. Cheers
If I were to run an axe fx through my home PA system, would I use the unbalanced output with the quarter inch cords, or the balanced output with the mic cables?
So, can you record in cubase for example, using the axefx as the sound card ? Is that simple? Im doing some research, any info would be awesome! Thanks!
I only have 14 days left to decide if I want it or not, considering the time factor id have to commit for learning, and the complexity of its functions,I will not be able to become fractale savvy.I like what I hear but really for the price of this unit it should come with a tutorial dvd.
@krushfx1 i dnt hav 1 so i dont no, but as an idea, he sed u cud put patches on ur computer, so i suppose if u know how theres nuthin stoppin u backin up ur presets on a memory stick, thts wat i do wiv my sklwork :D
Good night friends. Does anyone know how to tell me how to reset a Fractal fx ultra / standard, I have one and I want to leave it in factory mode. Thanks!
anyone: straight in the computer means through an trs to usb interface? is it right that you can update the axe through a midi-interface? if so any suggestions (cheap)
Well I just got the axe fx 2 yesterday and even tho I know nothing about the unit i will tell you with my 1 hours worth of experience the button lay out is very clustered and EXTREMELY confusing, very poor design IMO especially for beginners. There is no excuse for not have a dvd tutorial on its operation considering the axe fx cost. Most in the day and age do not have the time to sit and read an encyclopedia sized manual. This video is a good place to start but is barley scratching the surface.
Bought one of these this year for 500. It still holds up. Just like this video.
Bought one this year for the same price lol

Just got one of these and the manual can take a bit of study. this makes it so much easier and quicker to understand and use. Thankyou Dave !!!

Hey Dave I was wondering if you could/would do some tutorials on the Axefx II and the MFC-101 in the future? This series has helped me quite a bit!
OH MY GOOOD IT'S YOU!!!! (mfw i realise i'm watching one of your video when i see you at the end)
gret video but the sound is not very natural, what are you using to listening the Axe Fx??, but thank you very much !!
You can be sure that Axe Fx is far beyond from every device you could imagine today.
If I were to run an axe fx through my home PA system, would I use the unbalanced output with the quarter inch cords, or the balanced output with the mic cables?
thankyou very much for this video!
I wish these were updated to the Axe ii.
Do you use a midi controller or anything else to control the presets?
did you connecto the axe fx to your monitor speakers or how did you connect the axe fx to the computer
Thank you for tutorial!
9:12 thats TH-cam for you! , I'm wondering whether to get this or the Axe-FX II, its a lot of monies for the new one. :-( is it justified?
did he say "chune your guitar"?
sorry for my ignorance. I don't own any of these devices yet. But isn't the UI about the same?

When you clear a patch, you can regain it right?
