Great job Jon, this is very helpful. I finally think my audience is large enough that I can feel confident in asking a company to send me a product to review, so I'm definitely going to use some of this advice when doing so.
Thank you so much! I started a blog this year and I'm in Cape Town, South Africa. And thankfully I will be getting my first Cellphone review unit tomorrow! (LG Nexus 5x) Thank you so much! and keep helping. Definitely a role model!
Very very helpful tips Jon! Totally agree with all of your points :). Not only are your tips invaluable, but your own success on TH-cam and on the internet is nothing short of inspiring for other tech reviewers! Keep up the amazing work :D
John your the GREATEST!.......I love the fact that you feature and review many different products from various companies......I'm surprised your not working for C-NET......Keep the videos coming!!
Hi there, An interesting video, i'm not quite the reviewer but I thoroughly enjoy watching tech reviews on YT for the fact that your not a specific company but simply a normal person reviewing the product from a normal point of view. Its nicer than it getting spoon fed to you by biased technology sites. Good videos and keep them coming, oh and i'm not saying your normal btw ;)
This has been extremely helpful Jon, thank you so much! I'm looking toward your next video on how to build an audience. I'm still at the point of going to companies , and I'm actually "stuck" at the rejection phase. :)
This was a really helpful and informative video John for people who want to be aspiring Tech Reviewers.

Hello! I watch most of your videos and something always disturbs me.Your speech is always louder on the right channel than on the left. I probably wouldn't notice this if i didn't use headphones :) At first iI thought my hearing is wrong, but now I'm quite sure :) Keep up the good work ;)
well jon, i'm not a techno person at all and I STILL listened to this 8 min spot hanging on every word! EXCELLENT! I know friends who need this! I will pass it on. Question; as a daily blogger how do I build audience/ followers/ subscribers?
@jerrybasilio usually you send things back such as phones, laptops etc, but cases and all that they usually let you keep or tell you to give them away.
Kind of thought about this site. Maybe next time you do this type of video, you should talk about what putting the reviews on youtube really means for a reviewer. It is a young site after all.
Hey Jon. Just wondering if I should pursue becoming a tech reviewer if I don't live in the US. Especially since we in New Zealand always tend to receive new technology either months after the US or UK do, or not at all. And I'm assuming all or most of the companies you contact are based in the US and wouldn't see much return in sending a review product to someone overseas. Would like to see more of these types of videos. Keep up the good work!
Hi Jon I posted a video response explaining how following your advice has brought me a great amount of success. Thanks so much for all these helpful videos.
While reviewing a product, what aspects of the product should you focus on? Also, how do you organize a review?, what I'm trying to sat with this last question, is, for example: if you're reviewing a cell phone, what is the first thing you look at, the hardware and then the software or the other way around?
Hi, Jon! I'm Mike Wilkerson. host of the 2GuysTalking Podcast series. We've recently finished our successful "24Podcast" effort and I'm transitioning a large part of our front-end push to TH-cam. I'll be incorporating a number of projects that have brought us some great traffic but wanted to ask you - What's the best way to help my "audio" and "reading" audiences to TH-cam? While "tell them about it in the podcast series" is an option I'm wondering if I'm missing something more global.
i saw a little ad on the right... anway add a verb and then after that add alot, for example, Spamalot.... its pretty funny.... Anyway back to the video, im happy that you said this, im not gonna be a tech reviewer and not order anything, but i like that you said this to youtube =)
@Davidproduction2 Not long, less then a year I can tell you that! I've been watching his videos since day one. Even if I'm not even that interested in it I still watch it because I like the way Jon talks in the video as if we've known him for years!
hey John have you heard about the tmobile mytouch 3g slide. So far ive heard that it has htc sence, new features not present on android phone, stock or customized, however its only setback i know is that it has a lower screen resolution than the original mytouch. it also is a slider phone and comes in three diff colors, black, red, and my favorite white, You should really check it out and get 1 in your hands. I would like you to review so that i can see if it's as good a phone as it looks. Thnx
I love your advice and as a matter of fact, I highly recommend you guys read the book "Unlimited Power" by Anthony Robbins which also states about providing value and create rapport with your customer and not just trying to sale something and just saying bye. Thanks once again for waking me up again :)
thank you so much for doing this man i really want to get into what u do and i would take whatever tips u have to bluid my subscriber list and how to widen my range of viewers, thanks in advance ttfn sardo101
really enjoyed this video! i emailed a lower compant tht hasnt really taken off yet. (danglets for iphone) they said yes right away. i started three weeks ago witht this channel and i have a little under 300 subscribers. i think the main reason for the sudden jump is my topics. iphone os 4.0 beta !!
hey it kayler i dont have the right good tech camera and all of that and i want to be a tech reviewer i dont anof mony to get the stuff, is there a company of any kind that would provide that stuff if i review their products
Please give me feedback! I've been posting about 1 video a week. I've been trying to spread them out and produce as much content as possible. I emailed one company and I've unboxed and reviewed their product. But I still don't have a large audience. Any tips?
my question is how do you build a more interactive audience, my reason for asking this, is i have over 1300 subscribers, but my videos arnt living up to a large amount of views. Like i have only 150 followers on twitter, and over 1300 subs, those numbers should b closer together. A friend of mine back in the day when he had like 800 subs, and i had 1100, his videos were always getting wayy more views than mine, and to be honest, the production quality of our videos is about the same, plz help?
This is interesting, I make videos about technology just like Jon! I just hit 1k subs and would like to further gain audience. Thank you Jon, for taking the time to make this video!
wow... you actually revealed ALL your business secrets :S... taht's like rule 101: DONT GIVE PEOPLE FREE ADVICE AND ESPECIALLY SECRETS BEHIND UR SUCCESS!

This has been extremely helpful Jon, thank you so much! I'm looking toward your next video on how to build an audience. I'm still at the point of going to companies , and I'm actually "stuck" at the rejection phase. :)

Thank you Jon for sharing this information. How do you grow your TH-cam subscriber list?
Should I be contacting manufacturers like Samsung or LG, or should I be contacting carriers like Rodgers or Bell?
Thank you so much for doing these videos. I think that they are gonna be very helpful.
