Magnetic Hoop with Bernina Quilting

CHAT about using the Magnetic hoop in your Bernina, and embroidery hoop for quilting.

I had heard you have to change the tension for quilting with these on an American PBS quilting show. They were talking about the issue/nightmare that you were sharing about bottom thread. I, like others, having been thinking about the magnetic hoop and this was so helpful to hear honest feedback.

Hi Thanks for watching, yes you can change the tension and spend a long time getting it right. Always write down all tensions that you use for each project, I have a book for my sewing machine and overlocker, just to write down all sorts of little bits of info that I know I will forget, like tensions for different fabric or projects, and setting. I like to give a honest opinion on things so we can then make a decision for ourself without the hype that companies marketing gets everyone whipped up about, after all that how I bought mine in the first place. I was wondering the same thing - thank you for your advice about these magnetic hoops!!! I've started doing edge to edge quilting and they seemed to be easier, but apparently not. I appreciate your review.

Thank you for explaining this. I wasn't too ready to jump on the magnetic hoop wagon, but I think for now, I'll just stick with my Mega hoop and my medium clamp hoop. Lovely video.
