Every time you build a project car Scotty I keep saying that's my favourite....and today shall be no different. Looks great Scotty, glad its all under the bonnet, she is one sweet ride.great work mate.
I'm completely just a spectator I don't race I don't own a fast car and my mechanical skills, well I get by just....I just love this stuff watching the builds, Dyno days and of course racing chasing single digits...What a monster, congratulations Scotty and team not only has it pulled some impressive figures I can just look under the bonnet for hours and pretend I know what I'm looking at 😂..
Your not the only one mate! I have mates who say I am a bit weird about my cars but can't wait to get in one of my cars and squeal like kids when I stand on it. They know nothing about cars but still love them, I say don't matter what you work on or drive, we all know what we love!
Hey Scotty. It's awesome to see the Ute reach these numbers, ant to finish the project to this stage. Hopefully, after you take it to Drag Challenge week, the Turbo Taxi gets some attention, as it's been a long time between videos.
This is SO FREAKING GOOD! You should be really proud mate. You've built a super stout ute that will run mid 8's as it sits, and 7's in no time at all. Thanks for the ride so far.
These numbers are insane. Great content there, Scotty. Everytime Scotty uploads a video, it brightens my day. Look forward to your next one coming. Cheers from Bill.
Oh Lordy Lordy!!! All that in a Ute. Don’t cut your hair before the first run. The bracket you fabricated to brace the intake pipe onto the radiator may be causing the pipe to come off the throttle body. The torque twisting the engine forcing the block to move, but the solid intake pipe can’t twist with block because it’s fixed rigidly to the radiator which is fixed to the body which doesn’t twist. I could be wrong. Just an observation from watching this video.
That feeling you get when you know you're going to be driving something fast and untested. I tell myself to take it easy but end up pushing it. Nice looking set-up, the rear end is very nice.
What a build, well done Scotty, old mate knows how to tune an engine. Can’t wait to see this thing launching down the track, might need some sandbags in the back old school style!!
Can't wait to see this hit the track. It's going to be hard to curb your expectations, but be ready for things not going to plan first couple of times out. We're obviously hoping for the best, but we know how best laid plans go to crap. Still very excited to see some initial passes.
Some good advice here is you don’t try to set the car up yourself at the drag strip get Adam or someone else who owns these type of cars and get them to set the car up at the drag strip
Fn awesome scotty those dyno results on that psi 😮, can't wait for the next step in the adventure with the first track runs . Every time the results on the dyno got better and your smile got bigger and better gave me a little chuckle and put a smile on my face 😊 top job and congratulations to everyone involved in getting the ute to this stage.
Excellent work Scotty!!! Truly, all credit to you for the tremendous amount of work that you've put into the Ute. Very, very respectable numbers and super keen to see how it goes on-track. Wishing you the best of luck with it and keep up the good work mate!!
Hard work pays off Scotty ! Not easy at all to build a motor to withstand that power. Wicked build and already 1130hp on first dyno run, unbelievable work.
I love to see this Scotty, you put so much work into these builds and it's really gratifying to see them get a result like that! Congrats mate! Of course, if you'd just left the Ecojet in it, cut the exhaust off and put a pod filter on it you could have made more...
Bloody nice work, Scotty. 1100+ is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you’re just warming things up. Just don’t shit yourself on the quarter (I know I would)!
"certainly not a massive budget" - yeah we know it's not a GTR from Sydney with 'king' somewhere on the numberplate... Maybe if you tried importing and distributing cocaine, Scotty? Then you'd have the same kind of disposable income as those guys all somehow mysteriously do!
My p plate work mate put a unit sticker on his window, got himself a set of bob jane sabres and a hectic cat back exhaust on his v6 commy.....in his words, " my build is coming along"....gonna send him your way lol...in all seriousness, great job scotty and cant wait to see it in october on drag challenge.
Nice work Scotty, its a hard slog building a car of this effort. I always ran our car very rich. I used a M&W cdi and could run into low 10 afr with out issue. Allowed me to add buckets of timing with out problem. Same as Adam said, low egt results along with reliability.
Doesn't matter how meticulously you put an engine together there is always that niggling doubt ready to dash your confidence. You are under twice as much pressure because you're in the spot light. Yes you could edit out any stuff ups but I doubt you would. Your success or failure is there for the world to see. How much more boost do you plan to feed it to get to 1500?
That's a very nice base to start from before it's seen a track. It all looks rock solid but now I'm curious about your "higher" budget. You might have to give us some more mail at a later date.
Oh Scotty - you bloody beauty! The Ute sounds unreal and those numbers are insane
For a guy that grew up when 1.5hp per cube was the goal and 11s were quick this stuff blows me away, good work
I grew up in those days too and yep, I'm just as amazed as you are. I never thought that I'd be assembling 1000rwhp engines, but this is my second.

What a ripper mate 👏 Blown away she didn't even break a sweat and made massive power 🤘
Excellent work, Scotty 👍
I love it when a plan comes together. You must be stoked.
Great to see everything is working out ok. Adam is an awesome tuner.
Well done everyone
These numbers are insane. Great content there, Scotty.

Oh Lordy Lordy!!!

It's a possible theory. I'll have a look.

Can't wait to see this hit the track. It's going to be hard to curb your expectations, but be ready for things not going to plan first couple of times out. We're obviously hoping for the best, but we know how best laid plans go to crap. Still very excited to see some initial passes.

Well done Scotty. This thing is set up to go hard and go hard it will!
Have to say, I was skeptical about another Commodore build, but... it looks fantastic. Good Job Scotty.
That's the beauty of a ute, once you've spent all your money on the driveline you can pitch a tent in the back, no problem 👌😁
Good job Scotty!!
"certainly not a massive budget" - yeah we know it's not a GTR from Sydney with 'king' somewhere on the numberplate... Maybe if you tried importing and distributing cocaine, Scotty? Then you'd have the same kind of disposable income as those guys all somehow mysteriously do!
hahaha
Awesome effort Scotty and team
Congrats Guys!! Awesome starting point!
Nice work Scotty.
That sounds absolutely spicy 🤤🤤🤤👌👌👌
It's a rowdy unit

Thanks for sharing guys. Top work on the 4 digits.
The best tuners use EGT ;)

Yep, parts can fail at any time and there's nothing you can do to predict it.
Gotta get those V6 badges off the side of the ute mate, sounds mint looks good, we all wrapped to finally see her running, good work Scotty
We'll find some V8 badges
That's a very nice base to start from before it's seen a track. It all looks rock solid but now I'm curious about your "higher" budget. You might have to give us some more mail at a later date.
1400 Horsepower capable not bad for a start enjoy your day in the sun
Congratulations Scotty! Adam scanning you for a microchip... 😂🤣🤣🤣
Adam is gold. 😜👍🐶
I wouldn't mistake Scotty for a homeless dude. He looks very much at home in the bed of the Ute ... 😁
Looking forward to see this fly down the track ❤
Check wrist with no watch 🤣 that one got me
Haha, yeah, if I can make people laugh then my job is done
