I don't fish in winter, it's all seasonal for gathering kai, but as the fishing picks up then I'm out there more. Making camping in the rain vids is better financially (100% more income) for me than trying to catch a fish, if no fish no video no income no food for the family. I went out last week for a fish, bought bait & petrol and got nothing so no vid and no income. 😬

Ohiwa harbour by the boat ramp, a good place to fish and people do swim there amongst the eagle rays.

Yum! Fish finger burgers are a great idea! I love a good fish burger or sandwich! Here in Adelaide, Australia, when my partner catches Garfish and crumbs it with a bit of Moroccan spice, I put it in a burger or sandwich bread with chilli mayonnaise, tomato, a bit of red onion, and heaps of fresh lettuce. Might have to try it with beetroot, pineapple, cheese and jalapenos too next time

Not sure, possibly do some fishing up Torere to Te Kaha, just the price of fuel and can't always guarantee catching especially if trying to film content for work. I'm better off to fish locally here.
Fished down there yesterday with my dog as well to get out of the wind. Fished 2hrs either side of high and didn't get a bite, squid and anchovies as bait.. is low incoming better?

In NZ is it Fill-it of fish or Fill-A of fish. We are not French here. Or is it Fill- Aye-bro? Not only that but the famous Golden Arches burger joint uses a square crumbed pattie so it actually is pattie of fish.
Yeah you might want to test a burger out with some beetroot in there, it might work. I make burgers with meat paddy, lettuce, tomato, beetroot and runny egg. Thanks for the tip about pickle mayo, I never knew this existed, I'm going to try this on my next burgers.
