    How generous that I should hear you and you’re guru beautiful words of enlightenment thank you both. It seem, I’m in organic form for just an instant and this awareness help me experience how Devine a gift this existence is. I have the blessing of grace to hear these words and experience. But is also a funny Lila too in that we appear to walk and talk from this organic matter form, and it’s only a short illusion of love and a fun Lila play - I cry and pray for the 20,000 souls washed out to sea in Libya, and I just have little organic brain for this world. how can It tell in my thoughts and little words everything of my real self & existence - I’m designed perfectly for duality and only through grace and love will I be grant enlightenment.
    It’s so short a life and so beautiful we have to live lives of as much love for yourself and those unfortunate 20,000 soul who would like to be here now, but I will cry, pray and try to love more for them too -
    God bless and thank you I will hopefully find your guru book - sorry for long message but I’m dying of cancer after years and I needed to hear this wisdom before I hop off ❤️⛩Chris - thank you for your precious gift

    Like the way you present complex arguments in simple language. I would like you to combine Karl Marx ideas of exploitation and understand the problem of evil.

    Sri Ramakrishna's solution to the problem of evil is:
    layer 1:
    -Theological skepticism
    layer 2:
    -Leela
    -Rebirth & Karma (plus Maya)
    -Universal Salvation
    -"Saint-Making"

    Layer 3:
    -Panentheism

    Excellent Swamiji. Thank you so much for connecting us to the deeper understanding of Sri Ramakrushna. i was awestruck with the term ' saint theodicy'.... Thank you. Pranams Swamiji. Feeling happy to understand the grief we experience sometimes is also the Divine Mother's play.

    Namaskar Sawmiji... Thank you for an enlightening lecture on the 'why' of suffering... As you mentioned, this is not a dry philosophical discussion... It is definitely something that touches all our lives... Your presentation of this seemingly endless intellectual exercise was so clear and precise that it gave me the solace and reassurance of eventual bliss... Your words 'suffering is finite, but the bliss of salvation is infinite' while explaining Sri Ramakrishna's doctrine of universal salvation gives humankind a hope of freedom from the endless grind of birth-death, desires-frustration, and unending suffering... Once again, thank you for an insightful and uplifting talk... pranam

    Pranam Swamiji, you have raised interesting new thoughts for consideration and caused me to revisit old thoughts. I am grateful you have come with such a good mind to inspire us. Since the wave belongs always to the ocean, I am loth to bring these difficult theodicy considerations into question, as I have heard that there are questions which are not the right questions. That Infinity is eminent in this world and transcendent beyond it; how will i then second guess with the body-mind That Supreme Grace and Ultimate Knowledge of yet unimagined glories She may purpose in all this. Maybe doctrine that seemingly appears to be incompatible or irreconcilable at the level of intellectual reasoning becomes reconciled at the heights of spiritual experience in those super sensuous truths that lie beyond reason, but not against reason.

    If this logic is true then We now have rationale for the meat eaters 😊….

  • @jamesconlan56

    I still don’t understand how we are one with God yet subject to pain and suffering be it illusionary or Lila - play. What is the point of Lila, why would Brahman project itself to a ‘spiritual gymnasium’ for the sake of play, especially when the experience of duality is nothing but mostly stress, work, pain and suffering? If we are one with God how can we be subject to Maya? It seems pointless.

    • @shiladityakumar9453
      @shiladityakumar9453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The logic lies in the final point mentioned by the Swami. It is this: if I am the infinite reality itself (which I am ignorant of), then I am the one who is suffering as well as the one who is enjoying bliss. Just like when we were young, we used to play a sport on our own, let's say football (soccer, if American). Sometimes we are playing the striker and we are also imaginatively playing the role of the defender. Sometimes we engineer the game such that the defender fails to protect the goal, sometimes he does. These are just enactments by the characters played by us only. Just part of the game. Then does it matter whether we score a goal or get scored upon? Just a game.

    • @shiladityakumar9453
      @shiladityakumar9453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, our daily life is not just work, pain and suffering, we also have moments of happiness as well. We experience both, isn't it? If we experience happiness, why must we deny unhappiness as well?

    • @jamesconlan56
      @jamesconlan56 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shiladityakumar9453 This doesn’t adequately explain my question. Our true nature is pure consciousness - bliss (Sat-Chit-Ananda), if that is the case how can we ever be subject to illusion? If it is play (lila) then that’s happening without point or reason (be it happiness or distress), it still seems sadistic and without reason or point. Why would we need a ‘spiritual gymnasium’ if our nature is already pure consciousness?

    • @shiladityakumar9453
      @shiladityakumar9453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesconlan56 Your question is a fundamental one and a good one, that has been asked by every seeker - so you are certainly not the first one. My response is along these lines (note: the response is based on this lecture and my understanding from it - not realization): Firstly, you are arriving at the conclusion of the reality of suffering from your own experience (which is of course true) from a short range of time you have been on earth. With reference to the point mentioned about a GM chess player, the answer is that God (or the GM) is playing the moves keeping in mind a long-run time horizon. A time horizon which is beyond our day to day ups and downs in life. The idea is one of a (macro) trend line, consisting of (micro) short-run movements of the variables. We can experience the short-run changes but do not have knowledge of the long-run trend line of life. Isn't it irrational to jump to an understanding of a long-run trend from studying a short-run movement of it?
      Secondly, you are asking why we need a spiritual gym if we are already pure? The answer lies in the point "if". Take an analogy of a gym (athletic one). When you go to a gym, the instructor will tell you that, "James, you have an athletic build. If you follow these steps and stay disciplined, you will be undergo a athletic/muscular transformation." Now, you are say to the instructor, "But why will I work on my muscles, if I am innately that muscular dude?" I hope you know what the instructot will tell you, albeit smilingly.

      @@shiladityakumar9453 I appreciate your response to my questions but your explanation and the analogies used are not adequate. I’ve read the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna and the complete works of Vivekananda, I watch people like Swami Medhananda and Sarvapriyananda all the time but this question for all the time taken on it is never answered to any level of satisfaction.

Both the enactments of being the bowler and the batsman was done by us only, even though they are enacted as separate characters. Then does it matter whether we are out or hit a six? He is just give solution to evil as per Shri Ramkrishna Paramhamsa.
      He is not here just teaching adwaita.
      You are in wrong place. Go listen to Swami Sarvapriyananda for strictly adwaita lectures.
