Once I saw a picture about an elderly Mongolian woman and I was astonished: she looked exactly like my grandmother. She is Hungarian and her family's been living in the Carpathian basin for centuries.

So yes a long and big history one of the biggest and first in Europe ! Attila united that tribes from Mongolia and made the first country in central Europe ! Different Slavic and German and some Latin and even some Turkish mix ! Close to todays Hungary by the Ukrainian and Romanian border region where you still find some dark brown hair brown eyes short but stocky body and muscular and the eyes are a little not as much as the Mongols but a little slanted ! In the Capitol city of Budapest you will find many mixed races now days like any other western European cities ! But they mostly white fair skin and not as white like the northern Europeans or the Scandinavian ! Also we have a pest nationalities there about 350-400 years ago from India they traveled and settled in Eastern Europe called them Gypsies ! No eastern Europeans likes them cause they are rapists, murderers, violent and thieves ! They never want to work and they are a burden on all the eastern European countries ! In the early years they were devil worshippers or Satan worshippers ! They leaders called Vajd (vayda)! So after Attila passing they take home and made one of the first countries in Europe as toward the other tribes before they unify and created they countries too ! But as it stands today is chopped off and more then half of the my countries land taken away ! All of todays Hungarian neighbour countries have a chunk of our land ! As currently only 93 000 sq/km. as it is and about 10 million people lives there ! Well in a nut shell this is it ! I can relate. i am strongly drawn to the Mogolian culture.. In my maiden name I am a "cow herder'; - Gulas. Too many people recognize my Hungarian look. M Dad myself, and my son have strong characteristics (especially physically looks) regarding a Hungarian/Mongolian background.

DrTBone The Mongolians don't get along with the Chinese because of their long history of fighting for control over land and border disputes, not because the Chinese are trying to claim Genghis Khan as Chinese. Genghis Khan doesn't even have a Chinese name to begin with and to be honest, the Chinese have no reason to try to claim him as their own. The Chinese have always seen the Mongolians as barbarians during the dynastic periods. I have no idea where you got the idea that they're teaching that in schools. karatesushi Yep, We Chinese are teaching that in history book. Purely because China is a multi-culture state and absolutely majority of mogolian population reside within China. Genghis Khan's kid once unified China in history, and Yuan dynasty established by grand son of Genghis Khan is considered as legitmate dynasty of China.
More than 60% - 80% of them are Tibetan Buddhists. Some of them also believe in Tengriism (Shamanism) and pockets of Kazakhs in Western Mongolia are Muslims. In fact, the world's largest statue of Bodhisattva Chenreizig is found in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar.
***** I also found out that some Tibetan names were very similar to Mongolian names. Dalai Lama for example literally means Ocean Teacher/Monk in Mongolian.
Phanteus yeah some of Mongolians gave their child Tibetan name cuz of Buddhism. But lately new families doesn't doing that. Although my name is Tibetan and still i am Mongolian.
I'd suggest not to expect much from them. They can be the exact opposite of freindly as well. But considering the amount of tourists seems to be increasing, still worth visiting somehow. Enjoy your trip
