So are things like phones, gaming consoles and a TV not allowed in sikhi as its considered maya because your indulging in them and forgetting god. Should they be avoided?

Yes, ultimately we have to let these things go, especially if our mind isn't focused on sach/Waheguru while using these. If the phone is only used for calling and emergencies, nothing else, then it is much easier to focus on gurmat.

@@-whackd Waheguru Ji maya is both physical and subtle (sukhum & astool), this is according to gurbani. You are correct that thoughts are also maya too, and is the one that needs to be focused on intently. But we must remember that everything that we do not take with us after we die is also maya.

It can take a few months to yrs to reveal true nature eventually.
