I finally treated myself and got one of these a couple years ago. Feels so incredible and plays so perfectly. And NO harshness! Even on the bridge pickup. Just a nice rich full range tone.

No harshness at all. Some people might say they're too dark but I think the sound is rich and creamy

I have a Gibson ES 333. Also a satin finish. I agree. Those satin finished guitars are way underrated.

My wife just bought me one. I’m still testing it out. Honestly, not sure if it’s just a strings but the guitar didn’t blow my mind. Surprisingly, I was playing a Sire H7 and that sounded really cool. I’m still comparing them, but from what I remember, the sire Might’ve had a little edge over this guitar. This is Gibson’s almost premiere 335.

Listen to your ears and hands. They will tell you all you need to know. Every guitar is different and if you don't vibe with it maybe it's not for you and the sire might be better!

Beautiful guitar and very nice touch with your playing. The ES designation is for "Electric Spanish". This had nothing to do with f-holes, it refers to how the guitar is held/played. The guitars that were held flat on the lap were "H" style, for Hawaiian. In the early 20th century, Hawaiian music and lap steel style guitars were popular. Spanish meant it was played the way most of us are accustomed to. I have heard the claim about 335 being the original price but it turns out it was actually $267.50 . I have no idea on the significance of the numbers chosen for various Gibson models and haven't found any info on it, if anyone has knowledge on the matter please post it. It's bugged me for years.

Cant wait to buy one later this year most likely. Having two Les Paul Standards. Both else perfect, but the default nuts are poor quality to stay in tune. Already replaced one with proper bone nut, soon will get one for the second. Bit worried if the ES 335 will require the same rework to have smooth tuning.

Great playing. Why did you choose satin over gloss?

57 classics! There were a few factors.. Cost was a big one as this was a great price. I bought this in a store and got to play it and really liked the way it felt. I was sold on it at that point. All these years later I don't ever wish it was gloss either. Both look great!

Try the Heritage 535 (335 style) handmade by old Gibson and young luthiers. Heritage Guitars are handmade in the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo Michigan, are better than the old 50's-60's Gibsons that they replicate, they are the best Gibson style of guitar ever made in the world!

@@jeffdethuin3137The guitars are still made great, even though they changed owners, just ask the folks at the Music Exchange in Chicago and everyone that buys them, pro and amateur! It's easy to say that when a company changes owners they get worse, usually true but not for Heritage nor Taylor Guitars that are now owned by the workers, Socialism at work, much better than capitalism, it's great! Gibsons are terrible guitars for the price, many between $5,000-10,000 that I have played through my 69 years of life weren't very good, you can spend tons on Gibson and get a mediocre instrument, the internet and world are filled with these facts! I do expect all guitar companies are going to start cheating bc Americans lost their Freedoms are falling into poverty daily, guitars might be used for firewood if necessary! May sound far-fetched to you but not to IMF, and every American economist from Peter Schiff to Richard Wolff! This is the golden age for guitars, but they are crazily overpriced and aren't worth it, but the money is up, the u.s. is going to collapse, stay warm!!

And given that these guitars are the BEST... i suppose you can make the point they are, almost by definition, underrated. But in my experiance they are universaly revered.
