    John Allen great finish. Pope Benedict’s words of thanks says more about the kind and generous spirit of our German Pontiff. I wish I could say the same of the homily of Pope Francis for Benedict’s funeral mass. God rest his soul may perpetual light shine upon him.

      thus correcting this grooming abuse by himself by this simultaneously by him been accountable and making amends.
      We can all follow this good example given by Pope Francis of "to his own face" holding himself to account and to make amends.

    Happy birthday, and happy anniversary! As always I love your reports. I deeply appreciate the way you summarized the “impact” of the recent books and the current Catholic cultural war - is any of this new? Or is it really more of the same? Change frightens people, especially when it means that the side with power won’t be as powerful as they’re used to being. Certainly Pope Francis now being in the shooter’s bullseye is hard for him, but then it was hard for Jesus. I keep our Pope in prayer, and our Church in my petitions.

      Just curious about a few things after reading your post. What exactly does it mean to “embrace the sin of homosexuality?” In what way is homosexuality a
      ‘woke” topic rather than a matter of understanding human experience? Where in scripture does Jesus, who spent his time with the marginalized, condemn homosexuality? Is it the same to abandon scripture as it is to abandon tradition, or do you consider them to be the same thing? Do you think the Church is or has ever been a perfect Church, or is it always faced with the challenge of growing towards perfection?
      Just curious.

    • @stevensonrf
      @stevensonrf ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelstanford3688 All I can say is that your theological ignorance and your ignorance of scripture is showing. Homosexuality is clearly condemned in the Sacred Scriptures. Please read Romans 1: 26-32. Jesus never calls us to embrace our sexual identities. But He does call us to embrace the cross and follow Him. Jesus calls all sinners to repentance. Are you willing to do that?

    • @michaelstanford3688
      @michaelstanford3688 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevensonrf Is that really all you can say? To lead with an insult? You might lead with some curiosity. For example, “Mike, what do you think of the relative influence of Paul versus Jesus in mainstream evangelical Christianity?” Or maybe “How would you reconcile the Jesus of Mark with the Jesus of John?” Or even more interesting: “Should we be looking to scripture for historical facts, for behavioral legislation, or for metaphorical truths?” These are fun and interesting questions. My curiosity for you would be, what does it mean to embrace the cross and follow Jesus? Precisely. What exactly does that mean?

Has so many good words towards homosexuals and not a single encouragement to those who believe in heterosexual marriage sacrament. Extols divorcees in mutually loving second relationships and is mute when looking at those in 30, 40 years long marriages, who made vows in front of their Savior to remain loyal and struggling every day with vicissitudes of life. Strives towards unity of religions and looks sternly at those who battle every day to evangelize, to teach about Christ. Etc. etc. Such a sweet guy!!

But next day, or maybe a month later he would state to those in "second marriage", "second relationship" that " he [the Pope" had known many re-married couples living more Christian life than those in unhappy marriages" and "who was he to tell them that they had made wrong decision?". What message this brings to me, a Catholic living with his wife for 30 years, faithfully? Well, I will tell you. If I manage to find a "younger version" of my wife - you know, more shapely, nice curves here and there. etc. etc. - and live with her kissing the earth this new "wife" steps on after ditching the old one, obviously - and my new love "will be stronger than ever" I can count on St Peter's successor to bless me and assure me that I can count on God's love and forgiveness. Karl Rahner, a great thinker himself, said that the Church mirrors the society in which it dwells. Throughout the entire world there is division which is painful and perilous. Is this not true of the Church today? So, what do we do? It seems to me that we really need to talk these things out. First, individually. Then among ourselves, and then finally as a whole. "Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

      I attend the new mass myself because it is all that is available in my area, but the traditionalists do make a lot of good points, there is a serious fear that I don’t think should be dismissed. That such a drastic change to so many of the prayers and Canticles of the mass are a attempt to change the lex credendi of the faith. 9:16
      What is more I don’t think anyone can deny that liturgical abuse is still rampant in the Novus ordo.

      @@allthenewsordeath5772 the BOTH AND doesn't set aside the points of the traditionalists. I agree that the recent changes wrought to the mass are in some sense radical, but I am very suspicious of the claim that changes to the mass constitute changes to the lex credendi. Even before this century, the latin mass is not the only mass that has been celebrated, the latin mass is not some pure liturgical form that has been handed down to us from the past. It too has undergone changes and abuse, despite what many seek to believe. Conflating the form of the liturgy with the lex credendi is the surest way to abandon the lex credendi.

    Pope Francis says in Gaudete et exultate chpt 102 that the right to migrate is equal to that of the right to life in the womb, ("grave" bioethical questions) and anyone that says otherwise is letting their politics overrule their Christianity. But the Catechism of the Catholic Church clearly says the right to life in the womb is absolute but the right to immigration is not absolute, so it is Francis who is a politician (leftist) first who twists his religion to conform to his politics not those who claim abortion is a more important issue than migrant rights, because they are following Christian teaching and Francis is following leftist liberal ideology. Francis has psychological issues whereby he projects his own faults onto others. He is the ideologist, the politician, the proselytizer that forces his beliefs upon others not his opponents.

    The multiplier in economics referred to in RSV Genesis 1:28 enjoining the male and female spouses: "Be fruitful and multiply", has the arithmetic procession 'do-ing' procreation role gift activities and the geometric progression 'be-ing' identities need of union in covenant, non-presumed reciprocity; that is, inseparable and qualitatively equal role and identity in consecrated marriage.
    Then by the requiring by this consecrated marriage of this procreation gift role and this identity need of union to be advantageously combined, consecrated marriage is capable of out occulting the occult, incest connected grooming by diseased Malthusian (Thomas Mathus, "Principles of Population", 1796) family member 'familyists' for their families' economic advantage by tax-exemption embezzlement and lower insurance costs by fraud to purport to presume their separation with a non-economic false status inducement of "higher vocation" of 'do-ing' role to 'be-ing' identity.
    Only persistent "to his face"; that is, one on one, withstanding by each of those joined in consecrated marriage, either male female vowed to God or celibate vowed to man in Christ such as Pope Francis from 19 March 2013, by their accountability and amends can when not knowing their role and identity but keeping or allowing their inseparability and qualitative equality, out occult this occult evil of this grooming of psychologically and/or emotionally vulnerable family members.
    This was as achieved by Pope Francis from the Feast of St Joseph, 19 March 2013, then well illustrated on 10 June 2021 on the reference point of previous consecrated marriages, particularly of Mary mother of Jesus joined in both a celibate marriage with God and a male female marriage with St Joseph, exercising an absolute power of his consecrated celibate marriage of his simultaneous authorisations of his applications in his accountability and amends in the cases of the Italian state ("Zan" anti-homophobia bill) and the Vatican state (10 citizens/employees including Cardinal Angelo Becciu) respectively unacceptable risk of fraud on his insuring his need of union of his identity and alleged embezzlement of his procreation role gift charity donations as a helper of his family within his family.

    At this point of his pontificate Francis deserves nothing but criticism. Inconsistency, lack of clarity in his speeches and documents, utter chaos, doubtful personal appointments etc. Nightmare as late cardinal Pell described it. Ganswein and Muller had every right to be resentful the way both of them were dismissed. They were not school boys to be told not to come to work the next day. I cannot think of other pope of the modern era who would treat his closest collaborators that way. Bergoglio should stay in Argentina and become a parish priest, because his abilities remain at that level.

    Catholic literally means about the whole, synthesis means to put together. So Catholicism is about accepting the whole not putting things together. Accepting the whole truth of the gospel not mixing the gospel with sin and falsehoods. Also it is Francis himself who isn't Catholic, because he doesn't accept the Latin mass, even though it is holy and good, but instead wants to exclude it. Whatever happened to both and ? Synthesis is a Marxist Hegelian concept of the dialectic of change not the Catholic concept of including all good things.

    The Church as a helper of the family 'does' procreation role gift within the family, not "is" an identity in need of union.
    It is not a "crisis" but a "worldwide catastrophe" (Pope Francis, 10 June 2021) of "the great majority of sacramental marriages are invalid" (Pope Francis, 15 June 2016) resulting in the worldwide disaster of sexual abuse for economic advantages of tax-exemption embezzlement and lower insurance costs by fraud for the families of diseased family member 'familyists' by their grooming psychologically and or emotionally vulnerable family members with an occult as hidden, incest connected as substitute mate, non-economic false status inducement of 'higher vocation" of doing procreation gift role of helpers of the family within the family to being identities in need of union such as within the roman catholic church role group of "higher vocation" (Pope St John Paul's Council for the Family document, TTMHS, 1995, 35) of consecrated celibacy role vowed to man in Christ to consecrated male female marriage vowed to God.
    On the reference point of a spouse joined first in a consecrated male female marriage vowed to God followed on the death of their spouse by their been joined in a consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ as inseparable and qualitatively equal, Pope Francis on 10 June 2021 in his family member role-identity in keeping their inseparability and qualitative equality exercised in uncertainty of his belief an absolute power of his simultaneous authorisations of his applications of his:
    1. ensuring his procreation tax-exempt gift alleged embezzled by his Vatican state group of Cardinal Angelo Becciu and nine others presently been heard on criminal inditements in Pope Francis' Vatican state court,

    thus correcting this grooming abuse by himself by this simultaneously by him been accountable and making amends.
    We can all follow this good example given by Pope Francis of "to his own face" holding himself to account and to make amends.

    "Let your Yes be "Yes", and your No be "No".
    The teachings of the Apostles, the Early Fathers, and the Fathers of the Church are not ambiguous, nor dismissive of one another. Teachings were sound, built on those that came before, corrective for the faithful.
    The Councils likewise, in a span of centuries, answered against heresies.
    Until Vatican II.
    Until Francis.
    The fruits are Anethema! And, Anathema! is before all with eyes to see and ears to hear.
    See the purely sacred and its Tradition reduced to banter and pedestrian opinion, dismissiveness and even scoffing.
    Particularly, are the leading Western nations somewhat, or officially, pleased by all the radical rejection of Tradition, of Holy Mother Church of the Ages.
    Surely the dreaded scales of blindness is manifested, made acceptable, even now sought-after. Modernist bishops are pleased. Laity is conformed, one to the other under the modernists, "neither hot nor cold", made ignorant of the faith and practices of their Fathers, quite un-catechized, and therefore, supportive of the world and the goats ravishing the Church, wolves in Shepherd's clothing.
    The remnant will be dismissed, banished to suffer and bear up the Holy Cross, as our Lord Christ Jesus, to His crucifixion.

    You will know them by their fruit. It is a great challenge to cater so extremely to Religious being single and celibate in our times. I believe the RC Church could learn from the Orthodox Church, which allows for marriage. This one thing would be transformative to the entire religious community of the Church. St Peter was NOT single. St Paul was. This is the seat of Peter, not Paul, so to speak.
    I say this, as anyone who has been married, and is going home and has to explain themselves to another mate, has built in checks and balances in life, that are God ordained. Of course, some things are clerical and private in carrying out of one's office responsibilities. But still, the female/male role together, is stronger than an independent person alone, even with close friends and confidants.
    This is not to say that if God calls someone to live the single life, as a religious person, that this RC tradition should not continue through the lives of these men and women. This needs to always to be honored.
    But my sense of things for true reform in the Church, that brings a new stability to the core leaders of the RC Church, this change must occur. And sooner than later....
