LS50 Meta is not picky with sub pairing, every sub I tried had synergy in it's own way. Pick a budget, pick a size, and narrow it down from there. I can't pick for you out of thin air simply based on your speakers and not knowing anything else brother.
Really interesting video lots of products I haven’t heard of. That rsl sub sounds like a great deal. Would love to hear one. How do you find it compares with subs from companies like svs and JL audio?
I like SVS a lot but the 12s is without equal for it's physical size, price, and sound quality for a vented sub. JL doesn't make vented subs so no point comparing.
Great roundup, man! Well done. You might recall I got the very last LV12M before they went out of stock! I absolutely love it. Fantastic subwoofer. I bought it to replace an older Dayton Titanic MK2 sealed sub (great!) but I ended up leaving it in the system and run them both now, dual subs! Phenomenal. Thanks for leading me to the Rythmik!
Hey Nemo, so would you take the Celan Revolution 3 over the arendal 1723s bookshelves for movies? Thanks for the video, you’ve given me a lot to think about!
mmm, I love the Celan A LOT but if it was a theater only or theater dominant system yes, the Arendal stage larger and that's really important for theater. I think the Celan is still very good for theater or music but there is a big difference in staging between the two and Arendal simply stage BIG!!
okay here we go! The two speakers are similar in that they both have an excellent midrange but the Fritz has a little more emphasis on the midrange region, both are all about outstanding separation at all frequencies and a natural sound. The Fritz is a maybe 5% warmer in the bass region and had stronger bass in my room where the Platimon's bass was a little more matter of fact, some may call it dry or very accurate. Platimon treble is a little more forward & revealing than the Fritz. Each one is a serious value in it's category. The higher price of the platimon gets you cabinet that is metal and obviously much more inert and will last for generations. The Platimon is also more revealing overall and will show you if your electronics are a weak link in the chain where the Fritz is more forgiving of poor recordings or cheaper electronics yet still very resolving. I think the Fritz is an easier choice for the average man where the Platimon are more for someone looking to get into high end on somewhat of a budget. Basically both sound great and have a natural sound but it's easier to achieve on the Fritz where as the Platimon will require a little more care with pairing because its so resolving. Hope that helps.
Yes, I have an S/510 in for review right now. Unfortunately I cannot give any timeline but if you're in my free discord you're welcome to ask me questions about it there.
Hi can you recommend a few compact speakers please, prefer used around $500 or less? I have a parasound hca-1000 amp and speaker size give or take: H 10”, W 6”, D 7”.
I'm happy to help you make a decision if you're torn between 2-3 competing products but since you have space constraints you have to do the research first and find a few products that fit the physical size you're looking for. I can recommend a bunch of stuff at a price point because I remember prices but I don't remember all the dims of gear.
Interested in the REL ht1003mk2s if 2are good enough, better or overkill against one Rythmik fvx12 or lv12m just looking for the closest option for the best sound for both home theater & music balance
No, dual 1003 mk2 cannot compete with a single FVX12. A single FVX12 is physically larger than both 1003 MK2 combined! It's the same with the Predator 1510, a single predator 1510 will outperform a pair of 1003 MK2. Your real issue is "how much bass is enough" but only you can answer that question because we all have different taste/rooms. Personally a pair of 1003 MK2 is enough bass for me but I have a small room and only listen to music. If you're really having a hard time making a decision hop in my free discord and chat with the guys, they're really good at helping people.
Hmmm, I was so ready to buy an XTZ 10.17 or 12.17 edge when they go back on sale. Heard about them from your review on them. Now I’m confused. lol. How would you rate those subs to the Rythmik LV12M?
10.17 EDGE is a fine subwoofer if the LV12M is not avilable in your region or you prefer the more high end aesthetics, it's a top contender for being an excellent compact vented sub. The LV12m will take the edge in overal fidelity.
Were your offerings of amp in any kind of order? Your choice of the Choco Emei still leaves me in disbelief. Is it that good? It does have a very impressive toroidal transformer. It does lack in capacitance. Or is is enough? I keep thinking on this amp.
no, the 3 amps I picked were all very different, the CHoco sound quality is equal to the 2 more expensive ones on the list (Galion TS120SE & Hegel H190). The Choco is a purist amp with no features, just sound quality but a really good price, the Hegel H190 is good if you need some more features, and then the Galion is a tube amp so again very different.
Great subwoofer suggestions man! Absolutely love my REL 😊 Personally I think those amplifiers are wayyyy too expensive for the speakers you recommended. Get a trusty Yamaha amplifier and the best speakers you can buy for your money. If you want an all in one amp, take a look at the WiiM amp! Happy holidays and happy listening ✌️
My experience has shown me that an excellent amplifier paied with cheaper speakers will usually sound better than expensive speakers paired with a cheap amplifier but everyone is welcome to spend their money where they see fit.
@@NemoPropaganda I'm surprised that is your experience! To me it makes more sense to spend 500$ on the amp and 1000$ on speakers. But maybe I should try more expensive amps to see if I'm missing something 😋

Im running 1 rp klipsch 504c mk2 and 4 klipsch rp 6000f mk2 for fronts and surrounds will crossover at 60hz as I have 2 external anthem amps and speakers hit hard until 40hz in room so 60hz is a good spot for my subs also subs get boomy at 80hz in my room as I have a peak around there
"enough" is a tough question to answer. You're at the upper limits of a medium room. Some people may feel dual 1205 mk2 are more than adequate while other guys may not feel it is enough. It's like spicy food, how spicy is the right amount of spicy? It's very different for everyone. With that said I think most people would be happy with a pair of 1205 MK2 in a medium sized room but if you're looking to reacreate the experience of a commercial theater I'd suggest you step up to a pair of Predators.
Nemo, really enjoy your reviews brother. As I know you experienced the CSS Criton td and the x models, I have a question for you. If you could give me a suggestion I'd really appreciate it I have the 1tdx, and they are pretty good. My issue is due to their laid back tweeter the sound is somewhat not as engaging as I would like. The bass is awesome, maybe the bigger bass driver overshadows the top end a bit, or it's just voiced that way. I also know you reviewed the arendal 1961 tower, 1723 bookshelves. What would you recommend in the price range of $1600( bookshelf or any tower like the 1961) that would be more open, airy and impactful without being bright on the top end. I was even considering the Q Acoustics 5040. I already own a 15 inch sealed sub. Not a bass head, but attack, speed and articulation are my must haves in a speaker. Anything you can offer is great. Thanks
The CSS has way more bass than any of those Arendal options you listed and I'd say those Arendals are pretty light on bass. If you like the 1TDX sound but want something more open that would be the Heco Celan Revolution 3. But before you do that please tell me what amplifier are you using?
@@NemoPropagandai totally agree that the bass is good , but the top end leans toward darker side of neutral.. Im definitely keeping them no matter what, was just looking into possible option to get a more engaging sound. Also own jbl studio 690's , not bad but a bit sibilant. Definitely not a quality crossover in them. There's midrange not quite all there and not too tight of a botyom end.
@NemoPropaganda thanks for the recommendation. Do you think changing to a different amplifier would be beneficial, most audio companies I've spoken with before said it's not really worth it, unless I'm really going into something a couple thousand dollars more than I spent on mine.
I would be really curious to see your opinions on high end professional subs like the RCF 9006-as or 9007-as. I own the sb3000 and even with dual 18” drivers and a ported design (142db max spl) the rcf 9006 sounds wayyy tighter and defined.
I do not review Pro Audio, it is a very different category with a very different purpose. Often times Pro Subs have a strong bass cut around 50hz, I can see the 9006 has it's bass cut below 30hz. Home theater enthusiasts would be extremely upset that a 190 lb subwoofer can't hit 12hz. Also they would not look the best in most living rooms.
true. I was talking strictly for hifi music, 27-80 hz range. I even much prefer something like the SRX818 over the svs subs, even the pb 16 ultra I demo’d doesn’t hit for kick drums like pro audio 18” or 21”’s . this is basically me just ranting about going with the sb-3000 😂
both the srx828sp and rcf 9006 can do the lowest note of “put on” so that’s enough for me but the 9007 dual 21” can do a few notes lower then that but that’s $11-12k and over 200lbs being an audio engineer mixing on systems with 4 to 16 subs like this my standard of “feeling the kick” is higher then most
@@TylerMarletteNY PB16 ultra has zero tactile bass, it's gonna be awful with kick drums, that's not really it's purpose. The pro stuff often has a much harder leading edge but if you like it theres nothing wroth with that.
No that's not normal, mine extends like a 12". I suggest you reach out to your dealer or REL directly to see if they can help you with setup or rule out any settings that may be causing this.
It's nice to see Thomas Galion TS120 SE amp made the 2023. For the $$'s it's the PrimaLuna EVO 300 Integrated that is so much better with Tube sections, True Adaptive AutoBIAS, Parts. Point-to-Point wiring and Output Transformers.
I have the EVO 100 in for review and all I can say is it's absolutely amazing but it's not on the Galions level but of course it is also half the size :)
I actually purchased the Evo400 for the same reasons you have listed. But what I came to find was that PrimaLuna has great marketing and although the amp was well built with those associated components, it did not perform as well as some similar amps in the same price point. I had a chance to try the TS-120SE in my listening room and it outperformed my Evo400 at just about every level. The sound had more of the tube warmth that I love, it was less harsh on the top end and the sense of three dimensionality/depth of sound stage was much greater. It was enough for me to list the Evo400 for sale the next week.
that would be an insane upgrade bro!!!!!!!! The PB1000 Pro have a really strong bottom end, especially for how small they are but the RSL 12s is just on another level bro.
I’m done with rythmiks lower budget friendly offerings they always are out of stock I have a l12 wanted to buy another and it’s out of stock again probably gonna get the fvx12 or higher the ported alway seem to be in stock
To Nemo Propaganda only. I'd like your opinion. I have an IOTA VX sa3 driving a pair of ELAC Debut References (for my listening space/ needs, this combo has overall made me real happy). Some say these ELACs (these are keepers for me) can really benefit from good downstream equipment. With that in mind, would the "CHoco Sound · EMEI Integrated Amp" make a big difference/ improvement?, "or" save some money and keep the IOTA and get a good DAC to replace the one that's in it, which some say is its weak link? Thanks, Mike
so the dbr62 has a great midrange, good bass, and just okay treble, because of that I think a DAC upgrade may not be very noticeable. The dbr62 is however fairly hard to drive and really apprecaites lots of high quality power so for that reason I think the CHoco makes more sense for an upgrade. Again though, the tweeter on the dbr62 is the real bottle neck so there is an upper limit still but I would say with the CHoco you would be getting the maximum of what the DBR62 can offer and adding a solid amplifier to your system that can be the backbone of the system for many years. This evening I was using the CHoco to play my Platimons and it was absolutely fantastic. When using the CHoco I never feel that any speaker is being held back in any way. I'm sure the Platimon are nowhere near their limit with the CHoco but man it sounds so good I don't care! Ultimately your ears may be different than mine, you might be one of those peopel that feel like a DAC upgrade is huge, personally I always felt DAC upgrades were smaller than amp upgrades.
Thank you, "much, MUCH APPRECIATED" The CHoco it is!!! Also, based on your review of the Platimons, if I was looking to "really" get some higher-end Speakers (I'm almost 73 now), the Platimons would most likely (as in MOST LIKELY) be it, also they seem to be great bang for the buck (law of diminishing returns sort of thing), compared to other speakers, costing much more. Thanks again - All the best and Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays. Regards - Mike @@NemoPropaganda
@@MikeK6046 wow, if you're 73 and enjoy the DBR62 you must have very good hearing still. Most older guys I talk to feel it is a bit dull because they've lost a little too much of their higher frequency hearing and the DBR62 treble is mostly neutral. Good for you brother! Platimon is a very different sound, the shortest version of it is this: Mon Acoustic is like Focal done right. tons of air & detail without the dry midrange, instead you get a very open & natural midrange.
Heck, I guess I credit my good hearing from wearing custom-made earplugs during my 40+ years of riding motorcycles. As for Speakers, (me personally - as you know we are all different) I sought Speakers, which provided overall “very good” Midrange, followed by “good/ acceptable” bass and treble. During my heyday, I had some 1st generation Sonus Faber Guarneri’s, then some 3.6 Maggies, which accomplished my overall criteria for Speakers (BTW, I purchased them at Shelly’s Stereo when they were on Topanga Cyn.Blvd.). If I were to upgrade speakers, I’d be getting the Platimons that you have (I say that because of how “you review/ your taste!!”) All the best - Mike @@NemoPropaganda

No that's not normal, mine extends like a 12". I suggest you reach out to your dealer or REL directly to see if they can help you with setup or rule out any settings that may be causing this.
Thanks Nemo!
All best and good to you and your channel in 2024.

Aurora 300s or Oberon 1?
totally different sound, did you see my oberon video?
Love your style, Nemo!
Hey, thanks!
'I got you, broski . . .' lol, NICE! :)
Nemo bro, I've got dual pb1000 pro's and damn I'd be lying if you didn't get me hyped to change them for dual RSL 12s instead. Damn you XD
that would be an insane upgrade bro!!!!!!!!
The FVX12 is my fav one, I support your decisions!!
You might wanna have a look at the eltax 3 or the 5. 😊
I don't think it's sold in USA :(
Nemo 2024 gonna be even better!
If I were to upgrade speakers, I’d be getting the Platimons that you have (I say that because of how “you review/ your taste!!”)
All the best - Mike

@@MikeK6046 ah, I see we hail from the same place, I remember walking into Shellys off Topanga when I was 14 years old, they knew I couldn't afford anything but were happy to entertain me, they even demo'd some maggies for me just for fun. Such a great memory.
Interesting i was expecting the Rel t7x
I did not believe I covered the t7x in 2023...
@@NemoPropaganda ah didn't thought about that

For 6k i rather have a pair of Audiovector R1 Arreté
what do you like better about the R1 Arete?
@@NemoPropaganda Well better at this price range they all sound very good just what do you prefer....but it has excellent imaging and a wide soundstage and goes very deep. So sounds like a mix between a bookshelf and a floorstander. th-cam.com/video/u6TE4Lp1t3w/w-d-xo.html
Всем привет! Кто слушал новые Heco In Vita 3??
