- Today we are taking a look at investing in some sealed Pokemon product talking about Japanese 151 booster boxes vs English 151 booster bundles. It is an interesting question and my answer may or may not surprise you. As a Pokemon collector and investor it's very important to understand where the current market is at with both the English 151 and Japanese 151 Pokemon booster boxes.

I don't invest in JP except for 151 and that's only because they have masterball holos and are easier to store than the English products for the set. I think serious collectors down the road will want to compete the masterball set even if they don't speak Japanese. That being said, I have a lot more invested in JP BB but, similar to you, am diversifying and have a case of 151 ETBs.

I picked up 6 151 ETBs and 5 Booster bundles right before the prices spiked. I'm gonna hold them and see what happens. I do feel that over time it will only become harder to get and will become even more popular than it already is. I did open some before buying in bulk and already just about done with the master set. The luck I got with my pulls was insane. Holding everything else sealed just in case! I Will be working on the Japanese set as well eventually
What will be the value of the booster bundle be in 10 years?
PokeNE said there’s word or 151 Japanese reprint in the spring. I can’t believe there will be 2 Japanese reprints before we get 1.
I just got the Japanese booster box for a fantastic price. Still debating weather I should open it
I have been slowly getting back into collecting. I am very picky with the sets i like but i have been gathering a mix of both English and Japanese in both cards and sealed product. 151 is worth gathering for long term solely for future pack opening dopamine for myself even if it doesn't gain a ton of monetary value.

Far more English collectors in North America, so that's the easy answer for me should I want to sell mine down the road. I feel like there's an absurd amount of Japanese boxes being bought in massive quantities, so what's my little amount gonna do competing with them? At least with English we literally couldn't hoard them the same way because of supply and demand. So far, of course.
Japanese boxes easy! I collect both English and Japanese. About two months ago or so when the reprint happened, boxes were down to like 40-50 bucks! Fast forward to today, those same boxes are selling on eBay for 70 plus! Already moving up in price after the massive reprint. Waiting on English for a reprint as well, I don’t believe the reprint will bring the prices down drastically. Start loading up now as we will never see these Japanese box prices again!

I live in the state of Washington, where we have pokemon vending machines. 151 was sold out until last week. It got restocked with etbs and booster bundles.

In your opinion, would the English reprint cause Japanese box prices to come down? Im wondering if I should wait to buy some Japanese boxes or if I should pull the trigger now
No I wouldn't expect that to be the case. That is not usually how it works.
What is msrp for the booster bundle display?
I believe it’s $269.40 as the MSRP for one bundle is $26.94

for 151, im all in japanese. they have booster boxes/masterball/god packs where English does not. specialty sets is japanese for me*
for english sets, i prefer to have booster boxes as they appreciate more than etbs/booster bundles in my opinion
Off topic question but im going to buy a Crown Zenith etb to hold for the long term. Is it more worth it to buy it online at walmart for $42 and risk that it will arrive in bad condition or go to buy it in person and have to pay $50.
Of all the ETBs I have ordered online I never had one come damaged. That being said if your holding long term $8 difference won’t be much so if you are worried picking it up in person might just make you feel better.
