Just purchased my first suit yesterday, got tailored and grabbed some nice shoes. A total of 309.00 from Men's Warehouse. Attending my cousins wedding in a couple weeks, trying to turn a few females heads.
If that’s how you get them, you gone have too do the same thing too keep them. I would say get the suit for yourself but don’t let that be the main factor of how you attract women.
I agree with everything except the notch vs peak. I used to wear notch all the time but once I stared wearing a wide peak I never went back. I had such a positive response from people at work or just on the street about it it was incredible! As long as the suit fits well and you feel good in it, that the right kind of suit to own.
That cotton suit is fire!!!! My go to suit is the simple, slim fit two button suit. I got a 3 button suit from a thrift. Didn't want it at first but it was $15 and the fit was excellent. Like it was sewn for me
Bunmi Adefisayo , bruh don't be giving the secrets of the thrift stores out lol. I bought some Ferragamo shoes recently for 40 and they were brand new, had no scuffs on the soles.

I've never seen a video from any of the style guys here on TH-cam that explains the different styles of suits - American, English, Italian/European etc. and the body types they are designed to best accomodate. Does that sound like a challenge you could take on? I think that'd be very valuable.

I only have black 3 pc suits for work. White shirt, with hi polish french toe shoes, for dress fun no vest colored shirt and slip on loafers. The shoes usually cost as much as the suit.
I loaded up on the Alain Deputit suits for $39 each recently. Highly recommend them if you're on a budget. Tuxes are $67. This ain't an ad, just looking out for y'all

I have a navy blazer, black suit. I am planning on getting a charcoal suit. Being from Texas I rock my Lucheese black cherry all black boots or cigar colored boots. Works out well! Awesome advice I will certainly take the info into prospective!
Agree about the tux. Nobody wants to spend money on a tux because you rarely need one. Problem is when you DO need one, you gotta look sharp! Maybe get a tux from Indochino or Suit Supplyand have it tailored. I wore a rented tux as best man to my buddy, way back in the day, the vest kept riding up on me, not a good look.
Good choices for suits for sure. Personally, I’m pretty minimal in my wardrobe and found grey to be a huge staple. Because of that, I invested in a nice tailored grey suit - it’s not quite a Thom Browne, but I had it tailored to mimic the cut (pants are cut a bit higher to show a little ankle). I also have a pair of lighter grey slacks to use interchangeably for the warmer seasons. That’s pretty much it for me. That said, if you want to extend your suit collection, not a bad list at all. I especially dig the wool navy suit 👌 saluuute
I like the navy pinstripe suit. It’s not my go to but the pinstripes have a slimming effect. And yes I’ve tossed all my big legged colorful Steve Harvey suits.
. I love suit's. But Now for more comfort I wear jeans instead of suit pants. Blue blazer blue jeans, black blazer and black jeans, gray blazer with black jeans etc. I agree navy is a must for men. Especially a navy blazer with suit pants or blue jeans. Or a double breasted navy suit. I love double breasted suits myself. But I do not need a suit for work so I do navy or black single breasted top or blue or black double breasted blazers but with jeans now. It depends on your lifestyle and work, how many suits you want to own. I wear my black and white spectator shoes or a nice suit shoe with my looks too. So I alway's look nice. Well done video, Jeff! Agree with all five suits you said. My goal for 2018 suit-wise is to get up to five suits from just one now. Had to let go of a well-made but dated Italian double breasted suit and a Tuxedo to make room for updated versions.

The most important suit you need and must look after is your birthday suit... seriously, a good quality suit, either off the peg or bespoke enhances everyman. Buy traditional, classic styles and they last. Be sure to pick quality materials. Poly mix suits always end up ill fitting and shiny- only the wearer should shine not the material. A good wool, linen or cotton suit helps regulate body temperature- nothing worse than sweating in a poly suit at an interview or presentation. If buying off the peg it is worth it to pay for final tailoring. Match a good fitting suit with quality polished shoes and you are good to go. When you have matured and have the confidence do not forget the invincible Harris Tweed suit. Finally, every gentleman should own a trouser press and jacket stand-keeps the suit looking sharp and cuts down on dry cleaning bills.
Totally agree on Navy being the first you should own, including how you can use them as separates (like a blazer) without it looking like a suit orphan. Charcoal is also a great first suit but not as versatile as Navy in terms of separating them. For the second suit, I'd actually recommend a light-weight wool, light-grey shark-skin suit. That's because it can *be* a summer suit but also an every-day suit. You can also use it as separates like Navy. And for hot weather, yes, cotton or linen. Beige looks good but I personally like a sky/chambray blue (like this: bonobos.com/products/the-foundation-chambray-suit-jacket?color=blue), as imho it's more versatile. And yes, linen wrinkles more easily, but people expect that with linen suits. I gotta disagree as far as buying a tuxedo. I just feel like it's so incredibly rare that you *have to* wear a tux that the investment wouldn't be worth it just to look stlighty better for those handful of times. It's all about the cost-per-wear!

Yeah I mean I guess it's it depends on the person. I actually can't remember the last time I went to something where I *had* to wear a tux. Meaning, I've been to events where you certainly *could* wear a tux (and people have), but you could also wear a dark suit (like charcoal). The only time I can think of where it was mandatory was when I was part of a group of groomsmen--but even then they actually had to be rented just because they all had to match. But hey, just my two cents! Love what you're doing!

When buying a any suit always buy a 2nd pair of trousers / pants for the suit as the trouser / pants get washed more than the jacket , standard advice !!

I actually own 7 suits and a couple of jackets. However I don't see the purpose of getting a tuxedo yet (I'm 26). I never had to wear one and I don't see the occasion where I will in the near future... I never had a black tie event and for the other occasions a dark suit still puts me above the rest of the room (imagine a tux!).

Very few people wear a suit for work anymore, so one suit is enough for most of us. Dark grey/charcoal or navy would be the most versatile.
