Can you use the laser to measure a flat surface such as a tabletop or a piece of plywood? Or do you need to carry a conventional tape measure in as well?

can you explain the paint calculation? You calculated the volume of the room and then you say you will divide it by the area? that should give you the wall height.
Yeah, he actually said you could take the volume and then subtract the area of the floor. I think he's confused volume with surface area. Volume isn't super useful for me, so I wish it would do surface area instead - with an option to subtract out the floor or both floor and ceiling. But then again, paint is usually walls only on 8 foot walls and just needs to be an estimate. So just add the width of the room and the length of the room, and multiply that by 16. I can do that in my head. His room was about 11 feet wide by 19 feet long. 11 + 19 is 30, times 16 is 480. So about 480 square feet of wall.

so dos the 262 mean 262 ft? and if so does that mean in each direction ? So 500 plus ft? great vid by the way
😂I want to use such a device with a plastic corner-cube reflector plate, which reflects THOUSANDS as much back in the direction of the emitter than a white paper-like surface. (See Lambertian reflector.) I want to measure 500, 1000, 2000 meters, with a resolution of 1 millimeter . Problem is, I don't think the device will 'wait for' such a delayed reflection, even when it arrives late.
no real comparison to bosh I have the new ones they do everything the other one does except the dual laser but the dual is impressive

I haven't watched the entire video but if you are decent with electronics I can't imagine it being hard to replace a battery. At the very most it might take a soldering iron. You could also upgrade it to best battery there is in the future. It's fun to play with and takes a bit to get used to all the functions.
