Today I had a crafternoon, where our library offers space in the local senior center for any sort of project. I took my distress inks and my homemade smoosher and made a whole bunch of backgrounds whilst talking to my friends! Delightful. Your way really is less messy.
What a delicious card. The finger daubing of the vellum flowers is genius. It’s also nice to see Evergreen Bough used for the main colour, not often brought out. So inspiring
I really do love this idea! I just bought some wax to try on embossing folders with the same idea-just catching the edges! I love to stencil with paste so I’ll be trying the embossing powder too! So many techniques, so little time!
That's pretty cool! The vellum flowers were lovely. I love experimenting with different supplies so they have more than one use. Adding this one to my list! Thanks for all the great ideas you share! 🩷
I love trying out new supplies as well although hampered by poor health. I am on the Amazon Review program and get lots of arts and crafts supplies for fee. But some things take me awhile to get to work with.
I was greatly missing you. Die cut December had me so spoiled. Your card is lovely. I especially like how you did your flowers. Thank you for teaching.
Hi Natalie, another lovely card, like the technique using the embossing on the vellum flowers. They are so pretty. If you used acrylic paint through a stencil and heat it you'll get the same lumpy, bumpy texture without embossing powder. Acrylic paint forms a plastic surface when it dries but underneath remains moist for a wee while longer so forms steam under the surface layer. You can create the same effect with embossing powder over paint. Using acrylic paint on its own with heat layers the texture by creating small bubbles under the gloss or matt paint and bubbly, bumpy texture when heated. 🙂
I never thought to just rub/dab embossing ink on my work surface. Very interesting results which is perfect when looking for something a bit different. Lovely!
I’ve used embossing refill through a stencil as well as modeling paste. I’ve also used double sided tape on a card and embossed to get shiny straight lines. Your card is beautiful
Hello Natalie, Happy New Year to you. I would very much like to see a video where you do a feminine version and a masculine version. Maybe this could be a new short series? Thank you for all your inspiration. It’s a delight to watch you create.
Thank you so much for getting another fabulous video. I love the idea of using embossing powders in different ways and I’m looking forward to experimenting myself.😊
Natalie, I don't know if any other viewers are experiencing this, but I have barely been able to hear you (even with my volume turned up to 100%) for the past few weeks' videos. It's more important to SEE what you're doing, but I do enjoy hearing your voice, your instruction, etc. Now back to watching today's post!
Don’t know if this will help you out but I have not had any problems with being able to hear her videos. The volume seems to be great . I use an iPad to watch on. Hopefully you will find the problem because I agree that she is very enjoyable to hear as well as watch. Have a blessed day.
Sorry to hear that. It may be a problem at your end as everyone else seems to hear me fine. What device are you watching on? There is a volume control on TH-cam itself that might need adjusting.
@@nbcascards Oh my gosh! I feel like an idiot. I DO know about changing volume on individual videos. When I re-opened today's video, I checked the volume setting. It was set very low. Senior moment! (I seem to be having more of those of late.)
Love this card, i’ve never done any embossing except with embossing ink, I’ll have to buy some stuff to play with I think in the coming future.. Natalie you are such an enabler lol and happy new year. ❤
Gorgeous card ❤ I’ve added embossing powder using double sided tape - but you do need to check if your tape can take the heat of embossing before using this technique on a card.
Nice card and I love the colour. If my embossing goes flat i reheat it just enough to add more powder, heat it and add more again, just like you do with UTEE, which brings me to the heat embossing I'd like to see you do.
Great card. I have some gold wax for cards and I think some modeling paste for cards that I haven't tried yet. Do you ever use colored vellum? I have some of that and it seems like it will be great to use. Thanks for all the ideas.
Lovely card! I have tried embossing with paste, I only have a Cosmic Shimmer one, but I can never get an even coverage. Any tips or even a full video would be appreciated…..

Thank you so much 😊
I went Nice as you heat embossed - and oooooh when you assembled everything. Stunning!
Thanks, Julie! x
I never knew that you could use heat embossing powder on other mediums other than embossing ink until you shared this knowledge.. than you..
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching. ❤️
Lovely card!! The gilded flowers are knock outs!!
Thanks so much! :)
Beautiful card. Love the way you did the flowers. Will definitely be trying this. Thank you 🥰
You’re welcome 😊
Once again you amaze me! Never thought of embossing the flower petals!
Thank you! 😃

The gold embossing the the vellum flowers is a beautiful touch which I added to my list to try. Thank you so much, Natalie! 😊
You are so welcome!
Wow! One card but so many new techniques I had never even considered. Will have a play at the weekend with using paste to emboss. Many thanks x
You are so welcome!
I always learn something new from you. Thank you for sharing all that wonderful knowledge with us. 😊

Very beautiful card, love how you did the embossing. TFS!
You are so welcome!
I like how you embossed the vellum flowers!
Thanks!
Thanks Natalie for sharing a technique I've never heard of before. The flowers are gorgeous too and your finished card is gorgeous! Thank you.xx
Thank you so much!
Well, that was fun! Must try embossing with a texture paste. I like the added dimension. Thanks, NB! 😊
You are so welcome!
Hi Natalie. I love the gold embossed touches on this card. So pretty bit not overstated. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
You are so welcome!
I never thought to just rub/dab embossing ink on my work surface. Very interesting results which is perfect when looking for something a bit different. Lovely!
Glad it was helpful. x
Love the lumpy bumpy texture. I have done this technique...by accident, but totally love the effect. Thank you.
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching. ❤️
Lovely card , love the bubbled up situation on the embossing powders hen you put it over the liquidtex , very different effect x
Thanks, Angela! x
I’ve used embossing refill through a stencil as well as modeling paste. I’ve also used double sided tape on a card and embossed to get shiny straight lines. Your card is beautiful
Thank you! :)
Love the different medium you used, Natalie. Tfs xx
Thanks so much!
That's a striking card. Such an impact but not OTT. I love it 😊
Thank you, Heather! x

Thanks for the suggestion! 👍
You have the best and most unique ideas. Thank you.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. x
This was a very nice way to finish off the 2nd day of the New Year! And it’s a sketch I’ll certainly use in the next little while. Thanks Natalie! 🇨🇦
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. x
Love the card, so simple but effective. If you do not want the paste to bubble, leave the paste to dry, then heat emboss. It looks great flat as well.
Thanks for sharing. :)
Beautiful card. Love that bubble background. Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
Another cracking tutorial and a different technique! Thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊
I love the background. 🌻🌻
Thank you!

Beautiful as always Natalie!! I have not tried heat embossing that way!! But I will try it for sure!!
Have fun!
Lovely card! Thanks for the inspiration!
My pleasure! x
Really great ideas! I think, can’t quite remember, but if you overheat set Simon Hurley Lunar Paste it will bubble and give a different effect.
Thanks so much! :)
Gorgeous card ❤
I’ve added embossing powder using double sided tape - but you do need to check if your tape can take the heat of embossing before using this technique on a card.
Definitely! I think Elizabeth Crafts tape is heat resistant. x
I often heat emboss over words I have written with a ball point pen. Water can also be used.
Great! Thanks for watching. :)
Just beautiful
Thanks so much! 😃
I love your videos! So informative and you always give great ideas for me to try.
Thank you! x
Beautiful!!! No I have never tried heat embossing paste, or velum actually. I might try that today 👍 ❤
Have fun!
Beautiful card.

The first stencil may be for a tye-dye look.
You may be right. :)
Great card. I have some gold wax for cards and I think some modeling paste for cards that I haven't tried yet. Do you ever use colored vellum? I have some of that and it seems like it will be great to use. Thanks for all the ideas.
Thanks! I don't have any coloured vellum, but I could colour it with ink. x
Lovely card!
I have tried embossing with paste, I only have a Cosmic Shimmer one, but I can never get an even coverage. Any tips or even a full video would be appreciated…..
Thanks for the suggestion. I can do a video on that. x
👍
Thanks!
I don't have any embossing powder yet. Expensive here. Have to save.
