Use an extension with a wobbly on the plug to bring the ratchet back behind the frame cross member.

Great video but everyone should check their owners manel for the correct oil. I believe the OEM oil for the rear differential on the Ford Edge is 75W90.

How many quarts just one or less?.for rear diff? I know ptu is less than a quart 75w140. Im going to use Valvoline this time. Amsoil last time and its moaning and making tons of noise. 56k miles. Last time was 35k. Hope its ok.

Hey Scott, I saw your message just now. I know it might be a little bit too late because it’s been a couple months but if you’re hearing the grinding noise, it’s because you needed to put additive X-19 with the. 80w90 ford Oem oil

      It is 80w-90

Great video but as @albertneumann (thanks for the comment) wrote the manual sais "Rear differential (All Wheel Drive) fluid: WSP-M2C197-A
    Motorcraft® SAE 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant XY-80W90-QL" 0:03

Yes, indeed that is what Ford says to use...

To remove the fill plug while the car is on the ground and not using a long thin belt tensioner tool? Simple... did this last weekend... take a large enough diameter hex bolt and vice grips, and using an angle grinder cut off the threaded bolt length to 3/4" long then grind the sides of the hex bolt to a square shape approx 1/2" across flats. Then holding the square end, grind the top of the hex head down like half the original thickness. When cool, use your open end wrench. I removed and replaced the fluid and refilled in under 20 minutes!!!!! And btw, my 2019 Edge SEL AWD rear diff has a bottom drain plug!!

I saw that you went ahead and used 75w140. It calls for 80w90 how 75w 140 working out because I’m about to change my whole differential and I’m trying to see what oil are better because I versus I use 80w90 it starts to grow and make all these weird noises.

No issues whatsoever with the 75W140

Yeah I just watched another video of a guy with an escape, and he had to use a reducer down to a smaller hose, like you said about the size of a straw. He said it was an awkward bend and then he was Able to get down in there. He actually used a needless syringe and The suction tubing. And the syringe allowed him to mark off exactly what he was taken out so he knew exactly what to put back in

Good idea with the syringe to measure. The book says the rear diff fill is 2.3 pints or 1.15 quarts. So clearly I didn't get it all out.

I will never use scamsoil ever again in my RDU. two different edges i swapped the fluid out for this crap. 16 sel and my 18 sport. both had since new fuild changes ever 20k. both rdu;s went out in under 10k. Replace the rdu with new ones used redline shockproof never had an issue. My 18 edge runs 12.01 at muncie dragway. So yeah no more scamsoil for me.
