    Cool! I hadn't seen anybody mention the adjustment buttons for the bass strap. There's so many clever things in the design. I'm convinced it's the most innovative accordion anybody's made in decades in many ways. Applying some of the ideas to larger models for adults would be really intriguing.

    • @SqueezeandThanks

      Hey Bruce! Yeah I was surprised no one mentioned the adjustable bass strap, it’s such a unique feature. Definitely would be cool to see some features trickled into more advanced models

      @@SqueezeandThanks I imagine some kids growing up and wanting one like it but bigger. They released an adult version of the XS already. Marketing it like what I called a "backpacker's accordion" when I first saw this one. If we can predict next moves, I'd say maybe a MS, medium sized version with similar indestructibility, but a few more bases. Or, they'd be foolish not to release a 3row diatonic version for young norteño players. Those'd sell like crazy in black and red or something.

      @@SqueezeandThanks I call it the "Mini Mellow Accordion" because it has a Mellow sound that'll make kids & adults happy. It's a little bit bigger than those Cheap Toy Accordions which can often have intonation issues.

    I even use Accordion type Straps (The Double Guitar Strap) on my Dean EDS-1275 Knockoff cause its weight is akin to an Accordion. The Double Strap really helps distribute the weight more evenly when the instrument is in playing position, just like the Accordion.

  • @RockStarOscarStern634
    @RockStarOscarStern634 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Also those Cheap Toy Accordions are Diatonic Accordions so they can only play in the Key of C, plus they have really poor intonation issues. The XS is a little bigger in versatility cause it's Chromatic which means you can play in any key. A Free Bass version would be cool cause you can play Piano & Organ music on it too. The Luttbeg Accordion has Piano Keyboards on both sides so it's great for Accompanying Choirs & Singer-Songwriters.

      If the form factor is what you’re after, this is a good option, but if you can find a cheaper 48 bass (little bigger), that might be more enjoyable for you. I really wish this had the counterbass row and the width of a 48, I think it’s only from F to A

      @@SqueezeandThanks Thanks (and squeeze)! I would be interested depending on price. From what I'm seeing poking around online accordions cost a lot more than I thought. I live about 6 hours away, though I am hoping to go to Buffalo someday for Dyngus Day. I love polka music, I watch Mollie B on tv every week and listen to polka radio occasionally too. I have one of those little toy accordions you mentioned, but it's the button version. I saw online the newer piano version looks slightly better. I hope someday to learn how to play a real one. Do you have how-to books or know where to find them? I didn't see them on your website. I have no piano experience, and don't know how to read music. So basically I would be a complete beginner. Thanks for your help and quick reply!

      One more question, do you play polka shows from time to time? I didn't see it mentioned on your website. I saw in your video that you hurt your shoulder a few years back. I am glad you are doing better and enjoying making music again! I haven't found much for polka entertainment where I live. I love seeing Jimmy Sturr several times a year, plus I bounce to Maifest and Oktoberfests near me. I still wish I could discover more. Searching for accordions online I discovered Liberty Bellows Accordion Shop. I would love to see that store someday. It would be about 3 hour trip for me. Maybe I could even plan a trip around a polka show. (I think Pennsylvania gets some polka love? They have a song named after them after all...)

    • @SqueezeandThanks
      @SqueezeandThanks  ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on the child. It's a tough question when it comes to kids because you're never sure how serious they are when it comes to picking up an instrument, so the price tag on this accordion might be out of reach, or a little steep... however this would be the perfect instrument if you're sure that the instrument would be played and used often.
