Shawn years ago I built up my Mustang and put a super charger and inter cooler on it. I had to go to a ( omitting brand) oiled material type air filter. When I did I found my intake pipes had an invisible layer of oil on them laden with dust that you could see that was passing through the filter. Sure it would flow more air, but that flow was coming at a cost. All my vehicles since have used a good paper type filter. The performance improvement going to the other type is not seen until you get into super high HP applications. No one is going to feel a 5 or 10 hp improvement on a non built motor.

Oh btw our trip is coming to an end. The route changed due to weather and we ended up just hanging out around the Black Hills as you seen. We start our trip homeward to the Great White North in the morning. They are getting rain up there now so hopefully we won’t be choking on smoke when we get back.
Bummer when the weather changes trip plans..! That happened to us in 2019 and it turned out to be one of our better trips in the end. Be safe in your travels!

Does the 1330 prefer higher RPM too? I often wonder if I’m being too easy on the motor. I know some engines like the higher RPM area.
You can do absolutely whatever you want with the 1330... If you're doing something wrong, it will correct you. But generally, the 1330's like lower to mid RPM's, as that's where the power is.
