My dad LOVED Top Gun. It was honestly one of his favorite movies in the whole world. He wanted to see this movie so badly, and he wanted to take me and my brother to see it with him. but sadly, my dad passed away back in February. He was only 47 years old. My family and I are planning on going to see this film once it comes out, in memory of him.

I just got back home from watching it in IMAX. It's the best movie and cinematic experience i have ever had and ever will have i'm sure of it. Thank you to every person who made this movie, and thank you to everyone in history making the technologies capable of making a movie like this! I cried a few times throughout, what a rollercoaster ride!

Damn. Top Gun 1986, the movie that literally change my life; when I saw this movie I was a kid back in Puerto Rico, watching this movie made me want to come to the USA with the dream of becoming a pilot. I did come to the USA and never looked back, didn’t become a pilot but the fact that it made me leave my country in the search of a dream took a role in my life that I don’t regret making. Thank you Tom Cruise.

I saw the movie yesterday and cannot stop thinking about it. Tom Cruise is the last real movie star who can still put people in the seats. I am so happy this movie broke the box office record for a Memorial Day weekend opening. He deserves it. Tom Cruise may just be responsible for saving the movie industry all together. Nothing is like seeing a movie on the BIG SCREEN! Bravo Tom Cruise!

Just finished watching this 30 minutes ago, and still blowing my runny nose, What a fantastic masterpiece of a movie and the ending Had me cheering and gritting my teeth and tearing up..This will go down in history as the greatest naval aviation movie of all time.
My dad volunteered and served in The Royal Canadian Navy during WWll God I wish he was still with us to see this mind-blowing, cinematic extravaganza.

Marine, military historian, combat movie fan. I've seen them all. This movie sequel was the best aerial combat movie I have ever seen. The 1st top gun was great, but this one was truly epic. So much that I will go see it 2 more times totaling 3 before it's off the big screens. I was 13 when top gun came out, now 48 and took my 15 yr old son. I hope he remembers this movie with pops. It was very special to me. Thank you Tom and entire cast crew for this awesome film.

This movie is never going to be released. It was supposed to happen two years ago and now it has been delayed once again. It was supposed to be November now it is going to be May 2022. That will be almost three years later from its original release date. I'm not holding my breath.

I had the privilege of running Top Gun in '86 in my 32 years in the theatre business. I am sad that I am not in that line of work to run Top Gun: Maverick. It would be exciting for me just to take tickets, work concession or projection, and chat with customers in the lobby after seeing this wonderful film.

@@StaK_1980 I thought that also at first, but when I froze the vid on that scene, the character is wearing aviator wings, and Sundown was a RIO, so unless Sundown went back into the training pile-line and became an aviator (its happened), its not him.

idk...Cruise was pretty specific about a lot of things. He said he wouldn't do it, if it was gonna be garbage. Cruise has a lot of creative control...and he's a legit pilot and stunt guy at this stage of the game in life...so, I think it's gonna be good. Funny though, still no sign of Val Kilmer...lol. This movie is the motivation behind me joining the Airforce, becoming 0-2 First Lieutenant Graduating head of my class....... I am super disappointed because then I woke up, and it was all a dream, I used to read Word up Magazine, salt n pepoa and heavy D up in the limousine.
Saw the original as kid with best friend, next day he climbed up onto his roof with a motorcyle helmet and a C64 joystick to recreate it. He recently retired after 20+ years 10 flying f18s and now an AA pilot. I was too scared to climb up on the roof thank you very much.
I have been a pilot for over 30 years. When he strokes the nose of the fighter, I almost cry thinking about how I do it every time I fly.
@@julianjadav8517 I'm going through flight training right now. Flying is the greatest experience Ive ever had. Just be prepared for a shit ton of studying. Its not easy. But if you truly want to fly, it doesn't even seem like work.
@@julianjadav8517 for sure man. It really is hard work. Flight training is extremely expensive and extremely difficult. But like I said before. I don't even mind it. I want to fly, its what I love and honestly I enjoy the hard work. I would recommend going and doing an intro flight at your closest airport. Its like $70-100. An instructor will take you up and let you fly around a bit, it really shows you a glimpse of what its like and if you want to do it or not.
@@brodehaynie9399 Not if you get a glider licence. Much cheaper and a great gateway drug for flying. The principles of flying are the same in a glider, Cessna or a F-14.

Every time I step out onto the tarmac, all of the adrenaline in my body starts pumping and forces a smile on my face. Getting up in the air is an amazing feeling. Try and get started as soon as you can. It's lots of work though, and there is a lot of studying that goes into it, but knowing that it is going to bring you somewhere in life makes it easier. Go for it; I already am! As I always say, "Sometimes, you just have to get your feet off of the ground."

aviator.... Left the Navy to join a
church and preach the word of God.
He did it for 79 yrs. But, the good Lord decided to call him home 05-05-2020.

He's flying really high now... Don't you worry... I hope your heart can ever get back together after that... I'm just gonna tell you that my Granfather suffered a CVA some months ago, and i couldn't even visit him due to quarantine, so everyone is getting hurted out of this... Anyhow, i still hope you can feel better someday...

Just got out from the theater, this is easily one of my favorite movies of the year. One of those rare times where the sequel is actually a lot better than the original. Props to Joseph Kosinski in doing a great job directing two sequels (this and Tron Legacy) from a classic movie that managed to top the original

Maverick "Palpatine-ing" his way through the canyons was SENSATIONAL! Like good guy Pete Mitchell used both sides of the force to get this done. Grunts, twists, and turns that only Maverick could pull off... AWESOME

When I was 7 years old my mother made me watch this movie, today I'm 25 and going to watch this movie in cinema with my friend. REALLY pumped up for this.
I wasn't even alive when the first TOP GUN was released. but over the years I've grown to become a huge Tom Cruise fan because he is an actor who actually cares about the craft of movie making, and as someone who is considered the most patriotic person in his family I am so insanely hyped for this movie.
Yes I loved how he yelled at the people working on his movie about following covid protocols. 👍👍

As soon as I headed into the theatre, I knew I would be leaving feeling inspired and somewhat happy with myself. Knowing that my Granddad was in the Navy, I imagined what he would of have to gone through.
This film will never get old, even in the near future. Top Gun is a memorable Film.

When I saw this movie, Tom Cruise came on the screen before the film started and thanked everyone for coming out to see it. He said, they worked really hard on it, it was a long time in the making, and he hoped everyone would enjoy it. I really appreciated that. I've seen a lot of films and in the past twenty five years I can't recall that ever happening before in a movie. Bravo Mr. Cruise for not taking my patronage for granted.
Just took my son and his buddy today. We LOVED this movie - and I am picky. Simply fantastic flying footage, great casting I was literally on the edge of my seat. See this is a theater!
