- Designed in 2016 the @HughesandKettneramps Tubemeister Deluxe 40 Head is not "new" Amp.

I have the Grandmiester 40 and Black Spirit 200. The GM40 is great and the Black Spirit 200 is in my opinion the best and most feature packed solid state amp on the market today, especially for its price. I've been gigging with the BS200 lately and it's awesome!

I LOVE my Tubemeister 20 Deluxe. So versatile. There has not been a sound I can’t get out of it. Great for recording!

I'm looking at getting a Tubemeister 20. I found one for 525 near me, with everything. I have plenty of pedals to make it tighter and such. The Lead Boost makes it sound pretty good for hi-gain, and it does clean and crunch great
Actually you don´t have to tighten it . . . it´s pretty straight forward. But takes Pedals very well.
I'm mainly a drummer, who plays guitar and bass. I researched which amp to purchase last year. I kept coming back the Hughes & Kettner. It's compact size and vast flexibility of being a 4 channel head with built in FX AND a built in Red Box was too good to pass up for my small home studio. I mainly play 7 string guitars and downtuned metal. This amp can handle just about anything I throw at it.
Awesome! Unplayable all my Guitar AND Bass Tracks with my Tubemeister and it’s always right in the mix where I want it to be … no post EQ and/or compression needed. ✌🏼

Regarding the TM40 and fX listen to all my other videos. They‘re made with a TM20 and a Lexicon in the FX Loop … it sounds awesome!!!
Great video. I used to have a GM36 with all the MIDI/WIFI goodies too, sold it all, don't ask me why (blame Helix)... now 7 years later I am looking at the TM40 Deluxe to use with my L6 HX Effects. Have heard that the stock tubes really should be swapped out... true?

The stock tubes do sound great - just if you feel like trying others because of taste that´s ok.
Kann man eigentlich das blaue Licht abschalten? Das ist echt etwas, was mich an den Amps stört.
Mit einfachen Handgriffen ist das zu lösen. Die neusten Produkte haben es ja auch nicht mehr so präsent.
Aber ich steh‘ da total drauf.
Ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Fand ich am Anfang auch cool ( hatte mal das Duotone Top). Aber irgendwie habe ich mich daran satt gesehen. Die Konzepte der Tubemeister/ Grandmeister Deluxe Serie finde ich gut aber die Beleuchtung schreckt mich etwas ab.
Wie gesagt - abschaltbar - aber nicht ohne Schraubenzieher 😉

@Markusaldrich auch mit so was kleinem? Der passt ja echt überall noch rein und funktioniert zur Not auch ohne Box direkt in die PA
Die tubemeister amps sind für mich ein zweischneidiges schwert. Die features mögen zunächst überzeugen, doch um ganz ehrlich zu sein sind die meisten punkte am ende im guten durschnitt.
Eine red box wird für mich, so praktisch sie ist, aktuell nicht an two notes etc heran kommen. Dies gilt auch für die sounds der einzelnen kanäle. Es ist alles da in befriedigend, jedoch nicht außergewöhnlich. Ein allrounder sozusagen.
Ich würde mich generell als freund der HK amps bezeichnen, doch fehlen mir die switch/coreblades oder Warp T's. Diese innovationen welche für sich unglaublich geniale sounds hattten. Man bedenke nur die interaktion zwischen gitarre und amp beim puretone. Aktuell steht der triamp hier allein da.
Ich hoffe in dieser richtung passiert wieder etwas.

Danke, für Dein ausführliches Feedback. Was die red Box (AE) angeht, so kann ich Dir nur aus meiner Erfahrung berichten, dass ich den direkten Vergleich mit Two Notes gemacht habe und alle meine Gitarrensounds auf meinem Kanal sind trotz TwoNotes UA-OX und/oder RedSeven AmpCentral mit der RedBox gemacht. Warum? Dynamik und die Art und Weise, wie sich der Sound in meinen Mix einfügt sind einmalig. TwoNotes und Kollegen sind beeindruckend, was die Vielfältigkeit angeht, aber ist nicht auch ein Shure 57 in der Lage seit Generationen einen verdammt breites Spektrum an Gitarrensounds zu produzieren? Es ist eben eine Frage von: Will ich mit einen Sound bauen, oder nehme ich den aus dem Modeler und bin damit vermeintlich schneller am Ziel. Ja, die redBox ist ein OneTrick Pony, aber den Trick kann sie schon verdammt gut. Was die Aufzählung deiner beliebtesten H&K Amps angeht, so tippe ich mal darauf, dass Du es gerne HighGainiger und Metalliger magst, richtig. Klar, dass die Tubemeister Amps da für Dich zunächst nicht direkt gefallen haben. Aber auch hier verweise ich gerne auf weitere Videos auf meinem Kanal, welche einzig und allein mit dem DLX 20 und der RedBox erstellt wurden und in Sachen Vielfältigkeit zumindest für mich, nichts haben missen lassen. Klar, gibt es Amps die mehr Funky, mehr 800er oder mehr nach Metal klingen. Aber am Ende entscheidet der Gitarrist, nach was ein Amp klingen soll oder darf. Lassen wir uns beide überraschen, was der nächste Wurf bei H&K hervorbringt und ggf. ist es ja ein Schritt in Deine Richtung ;-) P.S. Schon einmal die BlackSpirit Amps getestet?
@@hartguitar Nun habe ich für die ausführliche Antwort zu danken, so etwas kommt auf TH-cam nicht oft vor. Was die mikrofonierung anbelangt gebe ich dir vollkommen recht, denn die "klassische" Methode mit box und Mikro ist nicht umsonst für den Großteil aller Spieler und Produzenten wahrscheinlich der erste Weg.
In allen Formen der simulation sehe ich zuerst tolle Möglichkeiten live, oder für den hobbymusiker daheim, ohne viel Aufwand an einen Sound zu kommen. Ich möchte den analogen weg von H&K auf keinen Fall schlecht reden, persönlich bevorzuge ich hier lediglich IR basierte Systeme. Die haben aktuell, vielleicht bis auf die Systeme von fractal, nicht die von dir angesprochene Dynamik, klingen jedoch auch sehr gut, wie du ja selbst auch schreibst. Es ist auf jedenfall spannend zu sehen wie sich die Dinge hier entwickeln werden, da es unzählige Varianten und Möglichkeiten gibt.
Tatsächlich habe ich den black spirit antesten dürfen und es ist ein wirklich toller kleiner Verstärker. Ich bin noch immer ein großer Fan des H&K trilogy, auch wenn dieser zunächst etwas "dunkel" klingen mag. Hatte immer gehofft die tubemeister Serie würden diesen "spirit" etwas einfangen, das Konzept ist ja ähnlich, glattweg das ich persönlich eine EL34 der EL84 vorziehe.
Das Video von dir schaue ich gern an (DLX20).
Und mein Ursprung liegt im metal Bereich, stimmt absolut. Doch hat sich das drastisch gewandelt, ich suche noch immer nach einem Verstärker welche meine 8 Saiten gut zur Geltung bringt. Eben nicht nur im High Gain, sondern zu 70% clean mit komplexen Akkorde usw.
Sweetwaters currently has the Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier 25w on sale for $1,349. How would you compare is to this one which it's currently about the same price however, I know it goes upto 40W.
Based on the videos I've seen, the mini Boogie has a pretty clean sound that I'm surprised with.
Well, a Mini rectifier is only 25 Watts, only takes 4 or 8 Ohms cabinets, has no MIDI, No Speaker Simulated out, No Power Soak, just 2 Channels, . . . . it´s a completely different Amp. The TubeMeister is way more versatile and for less money.

Ich gebe Dir ja recht, dass der Amp echt geil klingt . . . Aaaaber, die Schaltung mit der Gegentaktung in der Vorstufe ist so viel näher am alten Marshall Sound und macht ihn durch mehr Attack einfach durchsetzungsfähiger. Die neue RedBox mal ganz außen vor . . . Da reicht bis jetzt nichts ran, was ich an IR‘s ausprobiert habe.
Abgesehen davon, hast Du einen geilen Amp, der auch noch in 10 Jahren geil klingen wird.

Eine Frage habe ich noch. Wo genau liegt der Unterschied zwischen dem Tubemeister 36 und dem Deluxe 40? Kannst du das erklären?
Klar!
1) im Deluxe ist endlich die exakte Art des preamp/poweramp Zusammenspiels eines Marshalls verbaut. (Ich mache es jetzt nicht zu technisch) Das macht ihn einfach kantiger und damit durchsetzungsfähiger.
2) im Deluxe ist die neue RedBox verbaut, welche eine leichte Ambient-Simulation hat, welche parallel zum analogen Signal für etwas mehr Luft im Sound sorgt, wie eben ein Mikro vor der Box. Zudem kann man hier zwischen verschiedenen Boxenarten wählen und weitere Anpassungen vornehmen.
3) die Frontplatte ist schwarz ;-)

i have the tubemeister and grandmeister 40 and i will stay with the tubemeister with some pedals. it just sounds more natural and less compressed to me and it has an amazing clean channel. the grandmeister is a bit outdated and there are much better more modern and much more affordable options out there right now like the boss katana MKII which i prefere here way over the GM40.the grandmeister sounds more compressed and compromised caused by its versatility, the cleans are just "usable". both amps (TM40&GM40) have some build and design quality issues like overheating, blowing tubes and other technical issues which makes them very unreliable.cheers 🎸
yes the tubemeister 40 is an amazing amp and still worth buying today imo, it is based on the sound&technology of the triamp MKIII by the way so you can consider it to be a budget version of the big flagship brother. i got mine as b-stock for 600€! the grandmeister is technically just not up to date anymore, i would rather buy a more modern all in one solution instead like the boss katana or some of these newer modeling stuff.
@@BigLenny. I 100% agree here what kind of speakers do you use? i have 2x orange ppc 112 (vintage 30) and this little full stack just looks and sounds amazing.

I read this issue a lot . . . playin' mine since the first day it came out. Never had some problems.
But the Katana is way ahead in sound and dynamics . . . good luck with it ;-)
I juz got a tubemiester delux 20, i am thinking to record with the red box and plug that into my PC straight and output with studio speaker
. and i juz use the amp in my bedroom, do u think that is necessary to buy a cabinet? pls give me some advice as i m new to tubeamps
It's not necessary if that's the way you want to run it.
I'm doing this since more than 5 years now and the amp still works great. No Speaker necessary!

I try to connect stright to my mixer. but the sound is strange. distortion seems disappear. anything i am missing. Is the amp signal too strong? need IR box? pls advice! thx!!@@hartguitar
What have you dialed in at the red box out? There are 4 switches! And: is the Amp set to be played without a speaker ( switch on the back)
