Got a little bonsai envy of that red maple in the back round, another beautiful tree, great educational video, beneficial for the novice and mor advanced practioner.
Such a clear explanation of the concept, thank you for making this! I've found myself wondering how pruning can increases ramification on alternate-leaf species and the key piece of information that I was missing was your point that the outer 2+ buds will activate after removing the growing tip (I thought until now that it'd be just the outermost one). As a result I've been making the mistake of trimming my alternate leaf species back to 1-2 leaves instead of 2-3, but with what I learned from your video I won't be doing that any more. Thanks so much! 😀
A lot of bonsai makers (mostly in south east asia, some of your subsciber) don't learn the theoretical details botanist/biologist like you. They want fast leaf shrinking as their main goals. Is there any specific technique explanation in your video 🤔?
nice bonsai process sharing,, your bonsai is beautifull,, my suggestion,, you should choose background color different with your bonsai object,, at 12:38, the bonsai little bit can watch clearly because the background color is same with the object,. cmmiw 🥹
Hi Bonsai Semeru, thank you for the recommendation. This video was taped a little bit longer ago. My more recently recorded videos have a black backdrop. 👍
Typical - all this time I had the leaf description the wrong way around for elm and zelkova! I really enjoyed this Jelle.
Hey Xavier, this is exactly why I put it in. There are SO MANY elms sold as zelkova, that people just do not know!
@@GrowingBonsai 24 years later and what an idiot I feel. I will shout out this video when I do my elm...oops, Zelkova pruning. Thanks
@@XaviersBonsaiRetreat thank you for the shout out. Interesting that you have an zelkova that was sold as an elm. I usually hear the opposite!
Danke für deine tolle Erklärung! Toller Wald den du da hast ! 👍👍👍
